Looks awesome. The way the hud moves and reacts to bumps in the road etc is really cool. And it looks like they've nailed the sense of speed as well. Shame you couldn't hear the engine sound in the video.

UnSelf6217d ago

not bad
i mean nuttin ill buy
but not bad
@2: Stop bein a fantoy, of course GT5 is goin to blow it out, but cmon its jus a game, give it a chance

trancefreak6217d ago

hope they revive the n4speed series soda pop need for speed use to be top notch.

DelbertGrady6217d ago

I hope they do too. I loved the first ones (except for NFS 2 which was horrible). I'm pretty sure this will be good, it's being developed by a great team.

lol @ disagrees from insecure GT fanboys.

Rock Bottom6217d ago

That is not a simulation game, that was an arcade racer dressed in a GT/Fruza/GRID outfit, EA should either fix the whole gameplay or stops promoting this as simulation racer.

Perkel6217d ago

grid is also arcade racer

Redempteur6217d ago

nice video ..
definitly an arcade game ..it reminded me of ridge racer.
but they have work to do ..i don't like the way the collision with others cars are handled ...

FragMnTagM6217d ago

That guy playing is horrible. I am not sure if he is just trying to show what it looks like when you crash, or if he really is that bad of a driver.

rockleex6216d ago

But the physics seem to match Grid more than Gran Turismo or Forza.

Looks like a cartoon compared to Gran Turismo Prologue. Can't wait til Gran Turismo 5 comes out and blows all racing games out the water. This E3 is going to be awesome for PS3 owners. Can't Wait!!!

Did you see that ICO/ Trico game trailer???? - To die for.

onijutsu6217d ago

open zone ------>

on topic, seems pretty good, i like the way how the whole car moves when you change a gear that is pretty good.

Gameplay seems a lot like granturismo, i.e. using other car's brakes lol...

Some people do it not everyone lol...

Don't see why i should go for this instead of granturismo though

free2game3656217d ago

Man you fanboys really latch on to Gran Turismo way too much. The company who did this made the highest rated PC racing sim in the past 5 years. They know what they're doing, and without assists this is supposed to be even more realistic than GTR2. Which would make it the most realistic racer available. These guys have been doing sims for awhile. Just because there isn't a million cars doesn't make the game bad. I mean hell, almost all of the cars in Gran Turismo are street cars. Who really wants to race a street car when you could have one tuned for racing, and not have to grind away for 20+ hours to get anything near racing class.

lonz3546217d ago

wow your an hater lol and the ico/trico trailer looked ok but "to die for" lmao fanboys

Sharingan_no_Kakashi6217d ago

It may not look as good as Gran Tismo but the games got balls for even attempting.

DelbertGrady6217d ago (Edited 6217d ago )

“We don’t pretend to compete with Gran Turismo for technological achievement as well as what I would call a ‘driving simulator’,” said the developer. “That’s not the fun angle we’re going after.”

“We’re going after… what it means to be in a race, in a grid of hard competitors who will battle for position, and who will make the organic nature of the race more about performing at that level and less about the challenge of driving in a straight line.”

Despite wanting to offer something different to GT, however, Abney said Shift is paying close attention to Polyphony’s work.

“For us we look at games like GT, Forza 2 and GRiD as the high water mark,” he added.

After playing lots of gran turismo this game seems wrong. I am in love with my prologe of gran turismo 5, cant wait for the real deal. But i am glad that need for speed made some great changes to the nfs series.

Need for Speed: Carbon, Undercover, and More to Be Removed from Digital Storefronts

EA has announced that Need for Speed Carbon, Need for Speed Undercover, Need for Speed Shift, Need for Speed Shift 2: Unleashed, and Need for Speed The Run will be removed from digital storefronts beginning today, May 31.

Kombatologist1822d ago

From a preservation standpoint, this is the one thing I hate about digital games. And things will get much worse if game streaming becomes the norm.

darthv721822d ago

The games are already preserved. Hence their existence on the digital stores to begin with. This is no different than when Disney put movies in the vault, only to bring them back years later.

spwittbold1822d ago

Not true. Mass Effect re-release trilogy did not have some of the DLC content specifically because the contractor that played a major role in it's development did not preserve it, nor did Bioware.

thejigisup1821d ago

Any idea of when marvel vs capcom 2 is coming back? That's my favorite game of all time and I can't use it on my ps3 as the file is corrupt and can't find an official dualshock or sixaxis to rebuild the database in safe mode. It's really frustrating that I can't use something I paid for that I expected to have forever.

DOMination-1822d ago

At least it is available digitally. They give you a warning, and if you purchase it, then you will still always have access to it. They will also make it available again one day when it makes sense, but right now I imagine that <100 a day play these games.

Good luck buying Need for Speed: Carbon brand new from a store.

All games have a shelf life. These games are three generations old and had massive circulation. I don't think it is EAs problem if you haven't picked them up by now.

Sgt_Slaughter1821d ago

Why defend EA's bad business practice? There's no way to spin this, it's just bad.

Retroman1822d ago (Edited 1822d ago )

NFS Undercover, Carbon,Prostreets, Rivals, 2015 Reboot, Payback , 2012 Mostwanted was no good, far as I'm concerned they can remove Heat too . it doesn't matter anymore if Ea remove them they "All" crap.
Ea went down hill after Blackbox studio left.
Ghost did not improved NFS , Criterion did nothing better and here they are back to screw NFS again. 2022 will be another flop as the first title they made (Burnout for Speed)

DarXyde1822d ago

Not a fan of those games either, but I think you miss the point: even if someone—for whatever reason—wants to buy those games digitally, they can't. And the transition toward digital platforms makes the issue that much worse. Nevermind buying physical at outrageous prices from online sellers, you literally can't play them if you have an all-digital device.

Kombatologist is exactly right: it is an issue from the perspective of preservation that is likely to get worse with the rise of streaming.

Retroman1821d ago

Ah, no. I did Not missed the point. I spoke my personal opinion on those craptastic titles.
Why would anyone in there right mind but those title's Digitally??.......there is a website you can still buy those games around 19.99 I bought the Ratchet and Clank Trilogy PS3 for 19.99 Amazon and EBay price 79.99 wish I remember the name of the site.

strayanalog1822d ago

I wonder what Need for Speed said a decade ago on twitter.

1822d ago
Profchaos1822d ago

I own some of these games does that mean I can no longer download them? Or just purchase?

boing11822d ago

Removed from storefronts so my guess is it's only about digital purchase.

Most wanted 2012 imo was awful, on PS3 the graphics are dreadful, and the crash cam was very annoying. Rival is the worst imo, hated that game. My favourite is Hot Pursuit, great game. Also Shift 1&2 are really good.

OnlyThoseOnTheFence2484d ago

High Stakes will always be my favorite. Great cars, great music, and you could see through the windows which was pretty mind-blowing at the time. Best of all it was ricer-free.

steven83r2484d ago

Lame. The list doesn't even include any of the originals. NFS 1 and NFS hot Pursuit 1998. Must be a youngster who created the list.

CYALTR2483d ago

He clearly stated that being this was an Xbox centered site he was going to limit his list to games that released on some form of Xbox. He also stated he had been playing them since OG PLaystation, so pretty sure he's not a "youngster"

Retroman2484d ago (Edited 2484d ago )

From my personal experience NFS I personally don't like.......
The Worst : Underground 2 , Carbon, Prostreets, Undercover, Porche unleashed, Nitro, NFS World, 2012 Mostwanted, Rivals, 2015 Reboot last but not least Paycrap.
Best NFS I personally like :
All ps1 NFS : HighStakes (the best) including NFS 3 Hotpursuit , ps2 Hotpursuit 2 (Excellent game ) ..Underground ( Best so far)
2005 Mostwanted ( Excellent game) Shift 1/2 (Spectacular) remind me of GT , 2010 Hotpursuit Great game but race Waaaaaaay to long in my personal opinion . Last but not least The Run . these are my favorite NFS titles .
After The Run in my personal opinion NFS went down hill fast with Open world mapping crap, always online, multiplayer crap, alldrive, drifting in every freaking corners, no gripping anymore, autolog. None of this crapfest is NFS original formula. until Ea contract Ghost Games to return the original formula back in NFS it will always be Shitty game.
