Improving the Unreal Engine benefits ps3 and 360 gamers alike. Why would anyone be upset about that?

Bioshock and Gears make good use of the Unreal Engine, yes. But others like Last Remnant, Stranglehold are too. Even Mass Effect terrible texture loading.

So a LOT of games use UE3. And a lot of games have problems. Is that proof that UE3 is bad, or proof that UE3 is popular and thus a "bad" game will make the engine look bad?
If those bad games used another engine, do you think it would immediately solve the issues they had? I don't think Unreal is the problem, I think the problem lies mainly with the developers themselves. Even BioWare admits this, they said they changed how they develop a level to prevent the same issues cropping up in Mass Effect 2. Nothing to do with Unreal Tech.

-So sad gamers hating Epic because they have been very successful, UE is a great game engine, devs aren't stupid and thats why many of them choose it because of its versatility, its foolish to think if UE didn't exist all these devs would be paying huge amounts of $$$$ to spend on dev'ing a engine for their particular game= NO the majority of them would simply just choose the next best multiplat engine, ONLY a few devs have the money and are willing to take a risk to spend 5 yrs and a fortune to create a game engine from the ground up for their game. Also there are plenty great games which use UE and when games do suck on it or are flawed its most likely because the dev themselves fault not UE, those same faults would be just as likely with any other game engine.

Probably has alot to do with UE performing better on 360 than ps3.

Stranglehold actually worked well on the 360 and PC at least, good graphics, steady framerate, destructible environments, physics (sliding things off a table, shooting things down and having them fall/kill people), etc.

Or maybe because UE games look like plastic with tons of vaseline on them regardless of the platform. Hell, UE3 is one of the most generic and unoptimized engines ever, the reason it runs better on 360 is because the 360 doesn't leave much room for optimization. However, not all is fine and dandy with UE3, remember the Last Remnant? Does Too Human ring a bell?

The KZ2 engine and Cry-engine rapes the UE. Both in terms of textures, optimization and having destructable enviroments which the UE lacks.

It's just build't from the ground up for the lazy/ low budget developer. Of course Epic is far from lazy/ low budget, but how would it look if they ditched thier own engine? They are pretty much stuck with it.

These are new features not a new engine. Some of these feature are already in the cry engine also.

Usually that fat Unreal Technology symbol pops up when it is using the engine all I see is WB and Grin so if it does that really doesn't say alot for EPIC games.

No framerate drop and texture load ins even playing split screen co op.

pirating is wrong man ... even if you're just downloading it ... you're pretty much stealing money from the developers and producers of the game... i know i sound like a hipie ... but say no to piracy bub ...

There was a time in my life where I always had to trade my games in because I couldn't afford to buy them lol.

$60 is a unholy price and I'd end up spending hundreds among hundreds of bucks a month because of my gaming addiction lol.

Piracy may be wrong but for any long time PC user you know the temptation. It eats away at you.

I get you bro, games are to expensive for me to buy 5-6 games a month like I used. I just buy the PS3 exclusives and some multiplatform. If the PS3 and 360 multiplatform are the same, I go to my friends house (he has every 360 game and some games that haven't been realeased. He inevested about $200 in DL-DVD's and he downloaded the games) and play them with him. I don't pirate 360 games, but i play them with friends.
