Who really cares anyway? I mean, come on, everyone knows the 360 is dead in Japan. It's not as though people have to keep posting "told ya so" comments every time Media Crate numbers are submitted. We all know this already

BTW Mooks, posting the same comment in both the Gamer Zone and Open Zone = Fail

This is coming from a PS3 only gamer (for now)

that sucks since x360 costs as low as 100 euro in europe
also in 2008 PS3 > x360 in PAL region

and in benelux (europe only) PS3 was just 100k behind x360 in 2008

so even if you factor in europe PS3> x360 in april

sucks to be MS

And no mooks1/nasim whatever you missed an entire region(s) with the EU/UK. You pick and choose a couple regions in EU and claim you "won" april.

U.S. matters if you live in the U.S. Japan matters if you live in Japan. Europe matters if you live in Europe. Do you live in a 360 dominated country, or a PS3 dominated country?

Look what it took for the PS3 to outsell 360 in the U.S. and Japan combined. 360 had no big games released in April, while PS3 had Final Fantasy - the demo of it's BIGGEST Japanese franchise - released in Japan. PS3 had it's best month in it's strongest country, and 360 had it's worst. And yet, PS3 still only sold about 20,000 more. When 360 outsells PS3, it's usually by over 100,000.

All the consoles are struggling at the moment, in view of the recession. Sales are down across all platforms.

Why don't we talk about something relevant? Sales are fun and all (not really), but Demon's Souls is much more enjoyable. Probably the best JRPG I've played since VC and LO. Possibly better than both, considering the insane depth and quality of the game. It is essentially an Eastern Oblivion, with a much darker feel. Absolutely brilliant game.

Sure, sales are important, but we often forget what these sales revolve around: VIDEO GAMES. Isn't that why we're all here? Why we gravitate towards N4G? How about, instead of playing sales today, we all step away from the computers and I dunno, play a game :) Personally, I'll be playing some Demon's Souls once I finish work and hit the gym. Happy gaming to the rest of you!

This is not an endorsement from a From Software employee :) I just seriously think that the game is a gem - well worth the $100 price tag. (You can import it from A & C games with little hassle if you live in Toronto, btw.)

PS2, 360 - Pretty much the same, sorry to see the PS3 winning streak over, but it was bound to end some time. Still though it put up some decent numbers

Are still clinging to the fact that xbox360 sold more console with 1 year headstart with no and i mean ZERO competition .. the Wii wasn't around either. Even if these number probably includes the all rrod console.

Somehow the fact that ps3 sold more year per year that it was on the market at a higher price range doesn't matter.

This article would be 1000 degree by now if 360 had sold more globally.

For xbox 360 single console owner : All that matter is the one month that they sold 48k more in the u.s. Globally?? what teh hellz is that ?? U.S is teh worldz Nooo0B

But if you check my past comments, I've always stated that sales is not that important to me, I just find it funny when people jump all over the U.S. Sales and there's noone to be found in here.

It was just wonderful to see. Considering Sony puts effort in and all. Anyway if they were priced similarly at the start of this gen and microsoft were also after nintendo's head with vicious viral campaigns then the ps3 would be winning. Look at the circumstances at least. As far as I'm concerned the ps3 is lucky to be even close to the other two, let alone beat the 360, considering the recession and it's price.

Well that's good decisions from the competition then.

MS chose to basically ally itself with Nintendo with the "Get a Wii as well" and the fact that they opted for a lower priced machine. Sony couldn't afford the same price as MS and probably won't be able to because they got put all the extras which while nice to have and definately make it worth the price aren't essential to a gaming experience.

You've also got to take into account that the Playstation has the most brand recognition and loyalty out all three as well. You can't discount that.

Plenty of people thought the PS3 would stay on top as well, hence all the "PS3 domination" posts.

All I ever see on THIS site is how the PS3 is failing, Blu-ray is a dying format, and the 360 is the better machine, despite the failure rate!

Micorsoft allying with Nintendo... my @$$!!! Anything to keep from admitting that they STILL can't outsell their system, either... There was NO announcement of a merger between those companies, so guess what... that little comment... EPIC FAIL.

Nintendo is leading BOTH camps... deal with it. I have to.

MS did basically ally themselves with Nintendo. Sure Nintendo is kicking both their asses but it's bovious that MS would rather have Nintendo on top than Sony. Hence the support for the DS, but not for the PSP. MS' goal was to knock Sony down.

I'm sorry but you PS3 guys really play the victims, yes they are anti-PS3 and blu-ray articles but there's also a lot of anti-360 and Wii articles as well.

There's no bias against the Sony systems either, look at all the reviews. Hell if you want bias how come Disgaea DS is rated 10 points below Disgaea PSP despite being close to identical?

You obviously have problems dealing with it as well because that's one angry comment. Take a chill pill.

Famitsu came out with the wii on top of the ps3 and the post were a blaze on this site with " I'll wait for MC number" in the hopes the numbers might be wrong. Now MC numbers are out, and not even one word about the wii>ps3... It's ps2>360 , or ps3>360.

Let's face it , Japan is Nintendo and sony land and you don't need to bring MS numbers. to hit 1 Mil units over.. trust me the administration are happy to achieve that, they know they won't win the war but they are trying to win some battles.

Sony vs Nintendo is what Japan is all about.

I'm actually surprised the PSP sells that many HW and the SW just doesn't match up on the top 50...

Honestly, the double talk from you folks is ridiculous. But even more ridiculous is the tremendous amount of attention given to sales numbers week in and week out. Are the games so boring that the only thing that excites you is a piece of plastic surrounding a computer chip is outselling another piece of plastic? What happened to enjoying videogames?

Now it seems everything is a pissing contest. Oh boy time to get the rulers out. But I do understand the Wii hate. History has shown that the marketleader gets the most attention (resources) and fanboys of the "losing" system don't want this to happen. Fanboys are NOT True Gamers, contrary to their narrowminded beliefs. True gamers follow the games and devs follow the consumer. Follow this to the final conclusion and you have the reasons for why this site along with many other publications are so anti Wii. It also answers my own question as to why sales numbers followers has become such a cult.

My advice: Just enjoy the games you buy.
