3D Realms asked Take Two for 5 million dollars in order to finish the game, but Take Two refused to do so, so now Take Two is suing them because 3D realms can't finish the game?

anyway.. duke can be dead or on court right now, I just thank the people who made him in first place, my life would totally be worse back there if wasn't for duke, and for that I give all this people my sincere thank you guys.

well take-two has everyright they paid 3drealms to bring out that duke nukem game and what happens?they waste 12 years doing nothing

Im still trying to figure out why they wasted so much time? What was really going on in that studio? thing is though duke wasn't all that great of a game to begin with. Sure it was cool back when games were only made out of a few pixels and animations, but the series has been dead since the ps1 days. A time to Kill was actually a good game, but it didn't do anything that other games weren't already doing.

I think these guys were just biting their time because they knew that this game sucked, and that it was gonna flop, so they just prolonged their death.

T-2 should stop bit@@ing and give it to someone upto the job, (I'm talking decent graphics engine, 18 months to get the game out from the day they start ect).

As much as I want Duke to be finished, it's always "almost" done. It's always just a few more months. I don't blame Take Two for getting tired of that excuse. I think the lawsuit is just a strategic move to wrest the IP from 3D Realms' hands. They probably want to force a settlement out of court that includes the bargain sale of Duke to Take Two.

I remember an article by some former staffer posted here about a week ago about cliffy b going mafia on some guy because he wanted to drag out DNF development in order to drum up business for the unreal engine....maybe there is some legitimacy to that and take two has that guy cooperating with them. The author says it was a fictionalized account, but still worth a look.

I think Apogee had this coming, it never looked like they were focused on this title at all.

it never looked like that they were actually trying to make a sequel to a popular franchise.

I'd sue they ass to if I gave them millions of dollars 12 years ago and they still didn't put out 1 game.

Take Two sues for rights to the game and finishes developing it themselves.

This game is a guilty pleasure.

As usual it's a story of one egomaniac that chased perfection to near bankruptcy trying to follow industry trends and engines instead of just putting out a good albeit flawed game in 2001. It had to be the best and ended up as the most average game I've ever played which felt heavily dated on day 1

A big middle finger from the past to all the woke culture, we miss you Duke.

It took forever so I doubt it can be since it took so long. Even an AAA game in development hell that takes long will look and play pretty dated 90% of the time. The toolset and options with the lighting makes it better, but the gameplay was just meh.

Game is garbage. Realistic Ness destroys a game like this Duke can only hold two guns what a joke. I’d rather wash 2001 Duke Newcomb Forever trailer then play this game again. It’s a shame I’ve been waiting for duke nukem forever 2001 for a long time they should’ve just released it and not worried about having the latest game engine and just did their thing

DKF is the worst shooter I've ever played. The only thing it was "ahead of it's time" in was being released as a complete craptastic disappointment that wasn't worth the hype or the wait.

I actually did enjoyed the game for a bit. I got it in a sale for like $5. It has some fun moments. I would encourage trying it out.

If they just released the original build the series might still be relevant today.

But of course, the lead designer/project lead had to be pretentious and think he was the god of the games industry of the time.
