Man, none of this stuff is really in my "perfect" MS conference. Some kind of xbox handheld would be nice, hopefully with the ability to play xbox originals, but not that touch-screen crap he said. Third party support is kind of unnecessary because almost all third-party exclusives are just on a timer anyway. Square is already backing the xbox, and they can't really make any announcements for 360 games at this point that I won't expect to be terrible. Obviously they'll be talking about Halo, but I think the 360 is way over-saturated with all things halo and it's pretty tough being a 360 owner who hates halo. I really don't care about Rare at all, I don't care about killer instinct or conker, the last perfect dark was terrible and the first one was alright so I don't care about a PD sequel. Lionhead's new game would be nice, even though I think most of their stuff just comes out decent. I really hope nobody announces anything related to motion control, but it should be relatively easy to drown that out despite how much of a big deal everyone will make over it. I just want MS to announce a ton of new IPs that are 360 exclusive. Not MICROSOFT exclusive, XBOX exclusive. I'm sick of getting superior versions of 360 'exclusives' for $10 less on PC, I want something that'll make me feel like my 360 wasn't a waste.

IPHONE KILLER
Microsoft can't do hardware. They just can't. And as far as UI design goes, they steal from Apple as it is. There won't be an iPhone killer, not from Microsoft. The only thing to kill the iPhone will be the next iPhone.

THIRD PARTIES
I expect to see a lot of exclusive DLC content for multiplatform games. I don't think there will be a MGS4 on the 360, and it's honestly getting old and annoying for people to keep bringing it up. Please don't make some idiot post the Kotaku image of the multi-disc 360 MGS4 or FF XIII, that's even more annoying.

The problem is that while companies throw money at Microsoft, the profit margins for PS3 sales are greater than that of the 360. This means that third-party developers have been less inclined to go exclusive on the 360 seeing as they do see the extra profit in going multiplatform. But, they don't mind doing exclusive content for the 360.

ALREADY KNOWN
Yes, please have something substantial about Alan Wake. Honestly, not that many people care about GTA4 DLC considering the game has been out for a year now and there are newer, more interesting games on the horizon.

THE RETURN OF RARE
Honestly? You wonder if those games listed haven't seen the sales they deserve? That's preposterous considering the key market for 360 owners isn't interested in little party games but hardcore shooters. You're not going to make tremendous sales with those type of titles on the 360 until you overcome the Wii market. Good luck with that.

LIONHEAD'S NEW GAME
After the disappointment that was Fable 2 (or, as I call it, Fable 1.5 - the graphical update), I really don't care what Lionhead has to say. More specifically, I don't give a rat's @ss about what Peter Molyneux has to offer us since it's never what he says it is and turns out to be the most simplistic of concepts while real development teams are putting together some very complex works that we enjoy to play a lot more than Fable 2.

Splinter Cell: Conviction could well be stealth game of the year. Its been given more production time to make the game as good as possible.

APB: An interesting MMO claimed to be a GTA killer. Now that would be big.

Alan Wake: I bet my 2c on this one. First, its developed by Max Payne makers, Remedy and the things that they are saying truely show what a great action adventure thriller this could be. GOTY holder IMO.

Halo 3:ODST : I don't have high hopes on this one since its basically an expansion but it will sell well. Yet its being developed by bungie. They are a very promising company.

Perfect Dark 2: The first Perfect dark was gold. Yet the second was a bit of a let down. Rare are claiming that they are going to make a come back and they could really prove this by this franchise.

Forza 3: Turn 10 have made a masterpiece. They can easily make another. 400 cars, 100 tracks, more racing modes, improved crashing seems like a racer of the year contender.

MGS4 (360): This could very well be a shot in the head for sony. The biggest exclusive on PS3 heading to 360 and additional features. Yet this is still a rumour so we don't know yet.

Lionhead game: This game isin't fable 3. Its too early IMO. This has to do with the portal-esque Peter was talking about. And everyone knows Portal is a gem.

All these could sum up to 5 AAA games and 1 AA game.

Other games to look out for: Big park game and some rumoured konami exclusive.

You know, although it made a huge splash last year; the FFXIII thing was a pretty lame thing to get hyped about. Former exclusive third party titles going multiplat is just not something to get excited about. Show us new IP's and first party titles. Those are exciting.

I said MGS4 is the biggest exclusive because it has overall the largest score from any ps3 exclusive. Additional features would be added no matter how many disks. You know how MS are. I said 5 AAAs no because I know they are but they have the potential to be AAAs. APB will also be on 360 but maybe put on hold to finish the PC version. Its being made by the makers of GTA so it could very well be a GTA killer. And it has been in the works for a very long time now. And I doubt a ps3 version is possible. MS have a strong relationship with Realtime works. Only a bucket load of cash goes in the way. ]
Rare made a AAA once and can make another if they put the effort. Lionhead are showing that right now they are putting there minds 100% on this project. Lionhead always want to experiment on something new. Ands thats a good thing for the gaming industry.
Sony are looking very promising with their line-up of potential AAA contenders and now MS have to act.

1)halo:odst needs to come out swinging.have a new graphics engine that matches or beats gears and show gamers that bungie means business.

2)forza3 to come out and match GT5.but not in the typical way.GT5 mostly represents japanese autos.it has expanded,but GT is made by the japanese so most of the cars are.forza3 needs to counter that with american muscle.american style,american autos.that will make sales jump in america where 360 is leading ps3.and microsoft could jump on the bandwagon of the return of american auto making with advertising new cars like the camero.

3)rare making any other game other than killer instinct will have no effect.we have seen viva pinata,we have seen perfect dark,killer is what the community wants and they need to make it happen.or make some new killer IP.

4)microsoft needs to beat sony to the punch of new motion controlled games by camera and 3D games now that they have hdmi and support for 1080p.a 3D game that also uses motion from camera would also give them an edge.buying 3DV was a smart move.they had better not waste it.i'm impressesd with the boxing,flying,etc,as i have followed this company before the purchase.but the tech demos show weak A.I.so demos at E3 need to hit hard if the camera is there.

5)mass effect 2 needs to be exclusive and stay exclusive.splinter cell needs to be exclusive and show that it's not a MGS clone.actually,any third party game that was exclusive like lost planet needs to stay 360.adding final fantasy means nothing as it still comes to ps3.and possibly in better form.even if microsoft can get FFVSXIII to jump to 360,no gamer in america or europe will get to play it for at least 2 years.

Last year was looking like a funeral when microsoft got on stage.
If it wasnt for a playstation game going multiplatform and M$ acting like it was exclusive they would have had a boring show.

IMO, Squaresoft saved xbox360 from embarrasment.

Killer Instinct 3, Perfect Dark sequel, and new Metal Gear game are high on my list. As for confirmed (kinda) titles, can't wait to see Forza 3 and Alan Wake...

Am i the only one who thinks its pathetic that the 360 is trying to get a boost off a camera technology ripped off from the PS3, that was just an upgrade from the PS2 camera technology that was stolen from the Dreamcast??

This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

It’s always interesting to hear behind-the-scenes stories like this, especially involving veterans like Shuhei Yoshida and leadership figures like Jim Ryan. That said, there are usually multiple sides to decisions at that level. It could be less about not “listening” and more about differences in long-term vision for PlayStation. If true, and I'm inclined to believe it is, it goes to show that Sony lost their way when they became more western/didn't respect the PlayStation origin story. Andrew House and Jack Tretton did great work, but they also didn't try to fundamentally change the PlayStation DNA. Ryan oversaw the death of Japan Studio and a live service direction.

I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

There's another guy who recently "retired" as CEO of another large gaming company, after doing a dismantling job as lead for well over a decade.

seems legit, the business man, fires the one who has ideas to move the business forward.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.

I hope going forward, we will see a return to form.
