Infinite Bits: Top 10 E3 Predictions

Since E3 is in just a couple weeks, we thought we'd whip up a list of our predictions of what we think the Big Three will announce at their conferences. Some interesting news has already leaked about Sony's announcements, and Microsoft has been heavily hyping their presence so it looks like it's going to be an exciting E3. Nintendo has been too busy swimming in piles of money to hype their conference, but I'm sure they'll be showing off some interesting stuff too. So onto the predictions!

Here's an obvious one:

Microsoft shows off 2 minutes of Alan Wake footage (running on a PC, mind you) and announces a timed 3rd-party exclusive to be released sometime in 2010. The gaming media goes berserk and a new flurry of "PS3 is DOOOOMED!" articles clog the web.

Meanwhile, Sony quietly shows off a dozen exclusives and the media ignores it.

Here is also another obvious one:

Sony shows off a whole boat load of cgi and target renders for games to come out in 2011/2012, GOW (DEJA VU 3)and some ps2 games whilst MS shows off games due out within 6 months

redsquad6185d ago

As GWAVE's prediction has actually happened before, I tend to believe his over yours.

timmyrulz, just to play devil's advocate for a few minutes:

halo 3:ODST, announced at TGS 2008 with a CGI trailer, still not released.

Alan Wake, Shown in trailer form at E3 2006, still not released.

E3 2006, Huxley announced, still not out.

Both sides are guilty of it. I mean last year, Microsoft showed a CGI trailer of FFXIII, not due out till 2010. Sony showed a CGI trailer of MAG, rumoured for the end of the year/beginning of 2010. The reality is, both Sony and Microsoft show games nowhere near completion to one-up the other and try and draw more attention to their console. It's how it is. Although with that in mind, i do think GWAVE's opinion that no one will pay attention to the PS3 is a bit jaded too.

+Star Fox Wii
(I would love for this to happen)

+Downloadable PS2 Games or PS2 software emulation in FW 3.00
(I would love this to! As I'd really like to go back and play Beyond Good and Evil [Still deciding if I want it for steam or PS2 actually] If they do put it up on the store or something I'll definitely buy it on their just as I will for PSX games)

Can't wait for E3!

I have a feeling Rare will announce more than 1 title... honestly I believe it's 2 retail and an XBLA title or two.

ShabzS6185d ago

seriosuly how many e3 prediction articles are there gonna be... this is like number 37 or something

lh_swe6185d ago

This has been the tradition every year for many sites and considering N4G is a collection of all their views I don't find it the least bit unexpected, besides both companies have stated that something big is going down so I find it only natural for some speculation to arise.

Jim Beam Enters the Console Market.

No no, Not hardware, but a drinking game.

A Late Look: Alan Wake

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "All in all, it’s not hard to see why Alan Wake has received a bit of a cult following (there’s that famous foreshadowing again). It’s a title that blends themes and gameplay, while pushing the limits of storytelling by putting stories within stories and letting you read those stories before you get to that part in… the story. It has flaws, to be sure - the gameplay side can’t quite keep up with the rest of its ambitions - but overall it’s a great game that stands out among its peers and is undeniably… one for the books."

Kind of a goody story...

On a serious note, that is why I try activating gift cards asap. It's happened to me where the store didnt scan it right where the card was unusuable. Happened at Wally World.

gigoran8734d ago

wait, that place is real? national lampoon wasn't kidding?

jznrpg146d ago

People sometimes call Wal-Mart Wally World including myself

Tacoboto733d ago

I just bought two of the MonsterVerse Godzilla movies on 4K - both had digital copies expiring in 2023. Both were actually expired.

I'd be surprised but it's WB, of course they'd actually expire them

Knightofelemia734d ago

Usually most of those redemption card have an expiry date on them. If they expired all buyer did was buy recycled paper. And some of those codes are country locked to certain countries. I buy a card from the States I can't use it in Canada.

Chocoburger734d ago

Dumb and silly story. She wasted her money for no reason.

Is it really that hard to go to Steam or GOG. She spent $240, when its currently 70% off on GOG, and only costs $4.49.

Gee, I wonder, should I spend $240 on eBay, or $4.49 on GOG? 🙄

Rynxie734d ago

Most likely she wanted to resell a few or most of them. However, it was a too good to be true situation.

Profchaos734d ago

So in short she paid $240.00 assuming usd for a bunch on unactivated game codes.

I still don't understand why I guess cause there's not a physical version and she wanted something for a collection or art project.

Rynxie734d ago

No, most likely to resell. However, she ended up getting screwed.

Asplundh734d ago

This is Alan Wake 1, it had physical copies.
