I'd really love to see something at E3
Dead Space was my favorite game last year, besides MGS4.
I had no idea if it was going to be good or not, but I decided to buy it anyway since it came out right on my birthday and it blew me away.

YAAAY, one of my favourite games of last year. It was just so fun chopping up the enemies. However some improvements could be made such as more weapons and accessories etc. Dead Space 2 will be amazing.

Oh and the graphics were fantastic for a multiplatform game, really surprising.

loved the first. Yes, it was by far the best horror game I played after Siren on PS3. I haven't played RE-5, so I can't comment on that, but if RE-5 is anything like RE-4 than Dead Space still has it beat. My only complaint was that the main character didn't speak, that was unique touch in itself but it didn't seem well executed, boss battles were few but they were great. Also loved the whole walk all over the room aspect of it.

of the recent shooter or shooter-esque games i've bought dead space had the most character, what other straight sci fi shooters do you know?, none, if someone had said to me, want a game that's like event horizon with guns...i would have gone nuts, i liked everything about it, from the rpg stuff ( armour/weapon upgrades) to the enemies, levels, sound, effects....great stuff, my day has been made with this news

This game was superb. A great sleeper hit that came in under the radar. I am currently TRYING to finish Resident evil 5, but I have to say, it is so boring that I have trouble enjoying it. Deep Space definitely took the crown for the horror genre IMO. This is probably the last Resident Evil I will play; the last couple were pretty boring too.

Plus, Deep Space is such a good example of a game done right, good story, very well put together game, no technical flaws that I experienced, graphics and sound were great. End of story. Bring on the sequel, but take your time with it and do a good job.

Goody. I loved DEAD SPACE, despite discovering it only recently. I do hope there's a bit more variety in the levels for the sequel though - I appreciate the nature of the ship setting meant there had to be a lot of dark corridors, chambers and such, but the final 'planet' based chapter was a nice change of scenary and I hope they expand on that.

i loved the first one although it's easy as hell but it's one of the few games that i played enough to get the platinum trophy. i get bored of games pretty easily....

I think EA should license the engine they are using for this game. Looks loads better than Unreal. They could push it like they were 'posed to do with renderware. The texture work especially was "out of this world". Eh. Eh. Get it?

Great start to the franchise and props to EA for sticking with a new IP like this across three platforms(including Extraction). I was really impressed with the first game which was a far better survival horror game than either RE5 or the last SH.

IMO, alongside KZ2 this gen and a couple of the Silent Hills and Black last, the best use of sound to create atmosphere that I can recall-really good in a game where the visuals also added to the opressive feel of the game.

Looking forward to both how this next installment shapes up and to whether they can bring something worth playing to the lightgun genre with Extraction. Good news whatever you console you game on.

I played the best games in 2008 however i think dead space was different, so i chose dead space as being the game of the year for me. I cannot wait for ds2 i might even borrow my friends wii just to play ds extraction!

Awesome. I played the first one at least 10 times. Finished it on impossible and am currently trying to unlock the last 2 achievements. Absolutely my favorite new Survivor horror game of this gen...followed by RE5.

Not sure how they are going to play out the story in the 2nd dead space as the first one ended pretty tightly with not much you can do to expand the story of Issac.

but can't wait either way.

now this is some good news.

And today I was reading that apparently they were going to do a DS2 Remake, but weren't happy enough with the first game's remake to continue. I was really hoping to see them actually make a new game to finish off the story of the franchise.

So reading the article it doesn’t seem to rule out the possibility of a Dead Space 2 remake at some point. It’s saying that the rumour that it was already in development and was shelved because of poor sales is incorrect. EA Motive immediately started working on something else. So I read that as them actually confirming that it’s not entirely off the table.
