It's been a little over a year since I bought my baby (my ps3) I caress her every night. Turning her on ever so gently with the touch of my fingers. Ah yes....Life is now complete.

Seems like the 360 will be outselling the PS3 again this year

But when you think about it the PS3 launched at $599 and is now $399 thats already $200 lower, while the 360 launched at $399 and is now $299 thats just $100 lower. If anything the 360 should be getting a price cut not the PS3.

I think Sony should concentrate on making money and not winning some console war that only juvenile fanboys care about. Sony doesn't need to catch up to Microsoft and I'm sure they don't even care about it. Sony definitely cannot afford a price cut so I don't expect one for awhile. Being third place in the console battle isn't the end of the world.

MS will probably follow with a price drop of thier own. Nothing will change and the PS3 will stay 3rd for another 3-5 years according to Sony.

You Sony fans might "not care about sales", but developers and publishers sure do... GG made KZ2 to earn a $h1t load of money, sales were decent for the game and most of you outhere said "its about the quality, not the sales". That's the case with you, but if you want to see more exclusives for the PS3 in the future, there might as well be a price cut for those interested in purchasing a PS3.

If anything, Sony will probably introduce a cheaper new SKU. So that would not really be called a price cut from Sony executives.

PS3: 22,120,000 been on sale for 30 months giving it a monthly average of 737'333

As you can see the PS3 has sold more than the 360 in the same time period and with it costing twice the amount. THE ONLY REASON THE 360 IS AHEAD IS BECAUSE ITS BEEN OUT A YEAR LONGER!!!!!

nobody APART from sony know when the price is going to be cut, which means none of the bull$hit articles know what they are talking about! just the other day i read there was going to be a price cut in june and now we read no price cuts at all this year! nobody really knows! there could be price cut tomorrow, next week, next months or fooking no more price cuts at all and the ps3 will stay this price forever!!!! just fcking wait and see people. just let sony do their magic. if they dont cut the price then it obviously means they donmt think its needed.

i personally don't think there will be a ps3 slim till the next xbox7redrings comes out and it will have a sweet price point at about 200-250$.. I wont be much less advanced then the new xbox. It will probable sell like the wii is now.

He should of dropped some names of the Developers who would like to see a PS3 price cut. It would of made for a better read, instead of him just saying, "Developers" over and over again. Giving a source a face does wonders for credibility.

Price cut wont come untill the 45nm CELL comes out. Because with that new chip also comes a 40% drop in power consumption that will let them build a smaller power supply. With both of those they would save enough money to be able to cut price. But even when the new chip comes, I dont see them dropping price for at least a few months after that cause they would want to actually make money. Just wait, once all that happens well see price drop and a bundle with GT5.

Personally, I wish there was some type of price decussion for the Playstation fans, who don't have the funds to pay for both a $399 system and $60 games.

I bought my PS3 on day one....and I'M A VERY SATISFIED CUSTOMER. I would welcome a price reduction for others, who crave the BEST GAMING AND MULTI MEDIA PLATFORM ON THE PLANET!! Of course the XI and Wii are great machines, delivering great titles...but Sony is better. Hey, sometimes you have to quality!

According to VGchartz, if you compare titles available on Xbox and PS3, sales are higher (not for all game) on Xbox but there are no reasons to panic considering the difference between the number of console sold...

Fallout 3 (2,4 vs 1,3 million)
GTA (7 millions vs 5,6 millions)
Guitar Hero world tour (1,9 vs 1,2)
Prince of persia (0,74 vs 0,76)
Resident evil 5 (1,8 vs 1,96)

Sure if you compare HALO vs Killzone 2 (9 vs 1,5 millions) this is terrible but it's though to compare 2 different games with different release date. 3.9 million for Metal Gear is pretty good... And the game is so good that we can expect that the game will continu to get up in chart when people will buy Ps3...

i've had my ps3 for less than year and i have 21 games. 10 of them exclusives.

the ps3 is a solid system, anyone who says otherwise is still stuck in 2006. Also, anyone who doesn't have a ps3 is missing out on some solid games. Same goes for the 360 too, but i refuse to buy one because of rrod and e74. It's a shame the hardware is faulty cause there are a few games i'd love to get my hands on.

This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

That said, there are usually multiple sides to decisions at that level. It could be less about not “listening” and more about differences in long-term vision for PlayStation. If true, and I'm inclined to believe it is, it goes to show that Sony lost their way when they became more western/didn't respect the PlayStation origin story. I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

There's another guy who recently "retired" as CEO of another large gaming company, after doing a dismantling job as lead for well over a decade.

seems legit, the business man, fires the one who has ideas to move the business forward.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.
