Created by Ndoors, Atlantica Online belies a notion IGN sees too often, the gross over-generalization that says all massively multiplayer games are basically the same. Launched in the North American market late last year, it accentuates party-based strategic play while mixing in a number of other notable features. One of these is a turn-based combat system involving the player characters and their squads of up to eight NPC followers; known as mercenaries, they gain experience and level up like their leaders, and can be swapped in and out of the active group to suit the particular needs of individual locations.
Unbeknownst to quite a few observers here, the company has also developed other online titles including Time N Tales, Koong Pa, and Luminary: Rise of the GoonZu which means it was not an instant success. Its North American office is of fairly recent vintage, having opened in 2007. Through IGN contacts there, they learned of various things that are coming up, like Atlantica's inclusion in the 2009 Game n Game World Championship, a PvP server across all markets, and an additional release, WonderKing. Recently, they had the opportunity to ask Ndoors Interactive CEO Peter Kang about these topics and more.
After a period of shutdown, Atlantica Online relaunches under VALOFE's control, with promises of new content heading in to 2017.

A new class -- Stormcaller, has just been added to strategic turn-based MMORPG Atlantica Online's lineup. The Stormcaller is a powerful warrior whose mastery of the whip and lightning magic make her a force to be reckoned with. She can channel lightning through her whip, delivering excruciating lashings to all enemies, and her basic attacks can deal extra electrical damage.
