
Backbone Entertainment certainly rolled out the red carpet for Taito's Space Invaders IP. While it's abundantly-clear that S.I.E. is an ode to the original, it's also thankfully-apparent that its creators did their homework on what make a successful modern video game too.
Yes, Space Invaders Extreme is in high-def and yes it features multiplayer; just like most ROM redux. But it's what has been done to reinvent Invaders' actual gameplay that makes this XBLA title worthy of its groundbreaking IP digs.
