Dreamcast, i miss you !!1!
oh well, life goes on.

FragMnTagM6217d ago

Imagine what we would be playing today, had the Dreamcast stuck it out, and actually defeated the PS2. I used to play my Dreamcast online all the time. I couldn't stand the online on the PS2, it was shoddy at best.

Dreamcast took off in japan but in North America it just could not hit it off.

Biggest regret SEGA had with the system was not having a DVD player built in.

actually its the other way around. It did really good in the states but not so well in japan and the uk

II Necroplasm II6217d ago (Edited 6217d ago )

Sorry about the mix up.
thanks.

Thought it was the other way. Oh well dreamcast will be missed, it was ahead of it's time, lol.

PS2 hype is what killed the Dreamcast

Panthers6217d ago

Necro was right. It did great in Japan and flopped in the US.

They released it almost as a surprise without building a huge amount of hype. Most people had no idea it had come out.

maniacmayhem6216d ago

Actually you're refering to the Saturn.

They released it like a week or something early with little to no media hype.

The Dreamcast was defintiely ahead of its time which is surprising that Sega didn't include any DVD funtionality in it. One of the main reasons PS2 won was because of the DVD playback.

Oh well, just another mistake in the long list of mistakes.
