The Grudge Match is a long running series on IGN and over the years the most heated response has come from the old battle between Microsoft and Sony. While Nintendo reaps the rewards of mass market appeal, these two juggernauts are firmly entrenched in the battle for the hearts and minds of hardcore gamers. That's why they've kicked of a series of Grudge Matches that pit the two consoles against each other in every aspect of gaming. Today they start with everyone's favorite genre: the first-person shooter.
Both Halo 3 and Killzone 2 are more than just pieces of software. These brands represent everything Microsoft and Sony tout as the reason for owning their gaming consoles. For Microsoft, Halo is the flagship that roped millions of gamers into becoming Xbox Live Gold members. Its online co-op modes and massively popular multiplayer keep the title atop of the Xbox Live popularity charts over a year after its release and alongside huge brands like Call of Duty and Gears of War.
Killzone 2 is no slouch when it comes to multiplayer but its hook is that it just might be the prettiest game you've ever laid eyes on. Ever since the infamous CG trailer debut at Sony's E3 press conference, gamers have been obsessed with this game's visual detail and its ability to do something that probably isn't possible on rival hardware.

Remakes of the campaigns featured in Xbox Game Studios' Halo 2 and Halo 3 are currently in development, according to a new rumor.
That's Microsoft's gaming division for you...kill off developers making new ip while trying to capitalize off some long lost glory that has no hope of ever being what it once was thanks to recent decision making favoring unrealistic profit goals and greed. What a joke.
So what’s their solution to having multiplayer? Wait until Halo 7?
That was one of the most memorable parts of Halo..
Why not just port the MCC? 🤔 That was the easiest layup ever and you completely missed it
I wonder if Microsoft will port Reach over to Playstation I quite enjoyed that game. I played Halo 3 and it was not bad I have Halo 2 on the OG Xbox I just need some cables to hook up to my tv to play it.

Hugely disappointingly, it seems that Guerrilla Games, developers of the Killzone and Horizon series, may be done with Killzone for good.
1 was fine, overhyped as a " halo" killer
2 was a graphical beast at the time, and felt heavy
3 was good a refinement of 2 but not much else. weird audio issues environment were to quiet
shadow fall was pretty but bland
I dont mind if someone else takes up the mantle for the KZ franchise. We are several years removed from the first game. It certainly could use a remake to gauge interest in the rest of the series. I know it has its fans... Im thinking of how a proper reboot can rekindle that old dormant flame and bring in a new generation of fans in the process.
Would like a new IP before Horizon 3. Just because games take so long to make these days.

A new Halo 3 mod turns the iconic Master Chief into a Pokémon % Master as functional Pokeballs come to the game.
That is very impressive to skip the article here is the direct link to the video

Full animiation then a code change to make the target that comes out of the ball to be in the same class unsc not a easy thing to do.
Wait for it....wait for it....
This wont end well.
But I pick halo only because playing games with your friends is a whole lot funner then playing by yourself imo
a s*** from a xbox360 forum now lets put it in ps3 forum made and killzone 2 wins DURRRRRR
This is sad on so many levels.
1) Is this what passes for "news" these days in the gaming world? People b1tching about what game they like more simply because they are on different consoles?
2)The fact that this kind of article exists, because someone figured there is a "reader base" for it that will give the site hits and flood their talkbacks with all kinds of fanboy drivel.
God, I miss what gaming used to be and I hate what it has become.
omg i think this may be the worst fanboy battle in recent history. my recentlment for fanboys aside i feel compelled to voice my own bias that while having nothing to do with m$ vs sony or 360 vs ps3 will be seen by many future commenters as fanboism. I think killzone 2 is a better game only because i absolutely hate halo 3. killzone is however to unbalances as the game is now overun with people who choose the assauly class who are literally faster, heal faster, more health and have the option of choosing between an assortment of delightfully explosive weapons that require no skill to use. halo 3 however is just so flawed that if i began my comment that now begins to feel like a rant will need to be spread out in 3 or 4 different comments.
