The first Dead Rising game proved that, facing countless undead creatures and pure psychopaths, everything becomes a weapon. Showerheads can be used to drain blood. A bucket slammed onto a head works as a blinder. A sledgehammer...well that one is pretty obvious. For the sequel, Capcom is taking the winning formula, refining it, and adding a whole lot more.
The Dead Rising series has enjoyed a long and storied history over the years, but which game in the series is best?
Over the last week, Jake has been going back to the Dead Rising 2 Off The Record remaster and has been an absolute blast. When he was 15 he first got his Xbox 360 and Dead Rising with it, it was unlike any other experience. It made him wonder though, what happened to the Dead Rising series.

Ah no, I just felt like writing it as I started playing the game again and wanted to offer up my opinions 😁
Seems like there was just a ton of infighting aswell and so many more issues. Honestly sadly Dead Rising 5 before it was cancelled sounded nothing like dead rising, nothing learnt from. Dr4 at all.
They're a solid channel. I always click on their vids, unless it's a series/game I simply have no interest in.
They took away the depth and charm of the game that made it fun and interesting, and made it into a generic zombie killing game.
This was the series the got me to buy an Xbox 360. The first one was so good. It still had horror elements. As it went on it became kind of a parody. Never forget getting Zombie Genecider achievement and then restarting the game to get the Mega Buster. That thing was monstrous against enemies.
Some video game weapons are so outlandish they could never realistically be used, and that's why they're on our list of the 10 most impractical weapons in gaming.
..but will at least ONE of these previews ask about a new/improved save system please? The save system was the only thing holding the original back from true greatness, so if that's improved upon at all, DR2 will hands-down be contender for GotY in my book.
EDIT: Lo and behold, IGN has the winning preview: "Capcom told the audience the team recognizes that the save system of the first game was polarizing, oftentimes frustrating players, and is looking to make it better. How exactly that will happen, Capcom wouldn't say, though the team is still looking to create a sense of dread."
