Currently playing through VC and i must say its brilliant, its just eating away at my time like nobody's business

as much as i wish they would...

but its likely that this is never going to happen

they said it more than once that they´re not planning to get into the hardware business again

and if you ask me... im fine with that

dont get me wrong...I LOVED MY Dreamcast like no Console before (and it stays in my memory forever)

BUT

getting back into hardware sales is a tough thing
not many companies even survive long enough to think about such a step
and that way SEGA can concentrate on software alone (better games)

So... i think SEGA should stay that way for now

let Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft fight out the war

and by the way...SEGA: !!!give us SHENMUE 3!!! ;-) :D

There's just one delicious irony in all this.
Sonic is considered dead, yet he continues to be the most successful franchise on Sega's roster. Valkyria Chronicles, Mad World, Empire: Total War and future releases such as The Conduit, Alpha Protocol and Bayonetta will likely never reach the numbers that Sonic Unleashed alone has achieved, or the Mario&Sonic which is still selling even after being released over 2 years ago.

Not hating on HipHopGamer, just pointing out the immaturity and the implications of calling Sonic "dead".

no for the moment. Sonic is supposed to be the face of the company and until they give him a game worth buying or bury him and come up with a better mascot, they will never be back to where they were during the 16-bit era!

I was one of the anti-sega guys for the past years , given how they slaughtered pretty much all of their old franchises . And i still aint happy about their attitude and work with Shining Force .

However they won me over with their stellar work with new franchises like Yakuza , Valkyria and Bayonetta .

And they deserves double the credit for being the only current publisher and editor that isnt lagging technology wise .

They have a LONG way to go before they can even think of making a comeback, since being bought by Sammy they have done nothing but destroy their franchises, in 08 alone:

Condemned 2 (Gamestopping bugs that were claimed by Sega to be patched shortly after release, over a year later and no patch)
Sonic and Mario at the Olympic Games (NEVER should the two have come together!!)
Viking: Battle for Asgard: That game was good but definitely needed more time.

Their are probably more but I don't want to depress myself further.

no streets of rage 4
no skies of arcadia 2
no shenmue 3
no home versions of after burner 3,house of the dead 4 and virtua cop 3.or pretty much some of their top franchises getting sequals.....

equals no comeback for me.
