Sorry, but I think I'm going to call bullSh!t on your comment. First you say It's not impressive then you cry about how you won't be able to utilize the high end graphics. Your comment on the framerates is a little naive considering the game is still alpha and pre-optimization. If you were any kind of PC gamer you would be following this game and you would know what it was offering. This game is probably the best thing PC gammers have seen since Half Life 2.

Call bullsh!t all you want, I never said the graphics weren't impressive. Maybe I'm "strange" or "unique" but I'm sick of games full of eye candy with story and gameplay as deep as a kiddie pool. I'm sure Crysis will look wonderful, there's no argument there, but will it offer anything new? Will I ever say "Wow" at it again after the initial graphics shock? Probably not. I cannot stress enough that GRAPHICS DO NOT MAKE A GAME. They enhance a game. I'm sick of all of the "exciting" new games for PC (and other platforms) being FPSs. Honestly, I go back and play Doom and Wolf3D more often than I replay any of the new FPSs. You can't play them online for long because hackers and 13 year-old a$$holes ruin the experience, and after one playthrough there's really nothing in most new PC games to keep people coming back (If anyone says "MMORPG", I think I'll shoot them). Here's what would make Crysis worth keeping in my PC library (it may or may not have some of these thigns already, feel free to tell me if there are):
1. No invisible walls. Let me explore the levels. If it looks like I SHOULD be able to jump up there, then I had damn well better be able to.
2. A new gameplay mechanic that makes me go "Why didn't they do this a long time ago?" Assassins Creed will have the free-running mechanic and situation-specific body control. Prey had Portals (which were pretty cool, but should have been played up more). What can Crysis offer me.
3. Touch up that physics engine. The nuke test wowed me. Throwing that guy onto the roof and having the shack crumble like a house of cards did not.
4. Please, for the love of God, add at least a LITTLE depth to the story. Aliens have invaded, and I've gotten some kind of super power so many times I feel like I could live comfortably in a world of Jules Verne and X-Men combined.
As far as frame rate issues, history has shown that if they are there at this point, they'll probably be there in some form when it comes out as well. Why make a game that will have problems running on tomorrow's hardware, when the majority of gamers are still stuck in yesterday?

Sorry to everyone for the rant.
I know there will be people who will dub me some kind of heathen for my comments, and to them I say... if you have nothing better to do than argue with me on the internet, then you have much larger things to worry about than Crysis.

Ok, your a PC gammer that doesn't like FPS's, MMO's, or competetive online gamming, to each his own I suppose, but I wouldn't save my money for the graphics card, because I don't think you'll be pleased with the PC's future offerings. Your right Graphics don't make a game, but neither do gimmicks. Prey had portals and thats it, horrible story and no challenge. I would suggest you try STALKER, its not the prettiest game but the FPS and roleplaying elements mesh well. We know hardly nothing about Crysis's story line, so thats hardly something you can reflect negativly apon. For graphics and physics Crysis has gone a step further than any game I've seen, short of the Ageia Physics demos, but untill everyone is ready to pay for a standalone physics card what we have is what we have. It's better than running a truck into an aluminum shanty and having the truck explode instead of destroying the building. You may have to wait a few years for the perfect physics engine, but untill the next best thing comes along Crysis is the cream of the crop. There are no invisible walls in Crysis, if you can see it you can explore it. Also demo's are not an indication of final gameplay, of the videos I've seen there is no framerate issue. If there is there is no reason to believe they won't be ironed out by the time the game goes gold. As for the varying degrees of hardware, I have never had a problem with lowering the level of graphics to gain better performance, I think this is true of most PC gammers, and I would never consider it a reason not to get a game. If it plays well then it will sell well.
