Now that Bethesda is actually releasing narrative forwarding DLC I think it is a joke that PS3 users do not get access to it.

I will play it on my X360 anyway, but I am still angry for my fellow gamers.

Ninver6273d ago (Edited 6273d ago )

LOL and the shafting continues. Why gamers put so much support behind 3rd party devs who continuously shaft them sideways is beyond me. I'll stick with my first party Sony exclusives thank you very much.

That way i know the support will be strong and the devs are actually vocal and keep in touch with their community. Gorilla Games and Incognito are perfect examples of lackluster support.

Third party games are a joke and i will never support such trash. Fifa and COD:MW are an exception. They just provide alot of fun and quality.

whatis6273d ago

You do know what lackluster means right?

Kevin McCallister6273d ago

Lol. Sorry I had to do it: http://tinyurl.com/dm2b6d Probably not the word you were looking for.

BLuKhaos6273d ago (Edited 6273d ago )

if you want to hurt Bathesda, encourage more people to pirate the PC version or buy used copies of the PS3 version .My friend bought the PS3 version used and after he was done with the game,he loaned it to 7 of our friends and once I'm done with Persona 3 it'll be my turn.So that's 8 customers so far that played the game with out Bathesda getting a dime.I say we cunt punt Bathesda until we get fair treatment and get the DLC.

Chubear6273d ago

.. I mainly show support by buying exclusive games and there are more than enough of them, in many genres I enjoy, to keep me satisfied on the PS3.

There are very few mulitiplats I put my money down to buy. A vast majority of the time I just rent the multiplats that I want to experience. Saves me a lot of BS. If it's Valve or IW then yes I usually strongly consider for purchase but most other multiplats are straight rentals.

JasonPC360PS3Wii6273d ago (Edited 6273d ago )

So the PS3 doesn't get any Fallout 3 dlc boo hoo. What is Sony broke, can't seem to write some checks of thier own? They don't mind writing checks to movie studios to support it's Blu-ray format but not to game studios.

As more and more games go multiplatform the exclusive arena is in dlc, it's fair game. MS wrote a check to score some exclusive content, all Sony needs to do is write one of thier own.

Bethesda isn't saying they like MS more than Sony, Sony just is to cheap to pay for anything. You Sony fans think they should flock to Sony because it's Sony, and cry foul and "boycot" when you don't get your way.

It also doesn't help that PS3 owners don't buy to many games. If the amount of games they buy is low, then the number of dlc they buy is much much lower.

JD_Shadow6273d ago (Edited 6273d ago )

Once again, Jason 360 fails at getting the POINT of the argument.

Either that or he's playing the "us against the world" card again.

Either way, he just failed hard.

Ninver6273d ago

Oop i used the wrong work "lackluster" lol. Oh well, i'm guessing the people of N4G are intelligent enough to know what i was trying to explain. Or are they????

phosphor1126273d ago

It's my f*ckin middle finger.

JasonPC360PS3Wii6273d ago (Edited 6273d ago )

Fallout 3 gets extras on the 360 and not the PS3 (STOP THE PRESS) Xbox fans didn't cry about Bioshock getting a little extra for the PS3 version. If it were the PS3 getting Fallout 3 extras you wouldn't see any whining and crying about it.

"Lets pirate Bethesdas games, boycot the next game, and spam thier forums and e-mail because we can't get DLC" boo hoo "IT'S NOT FAIR!! IT'S NOT FAIR!!" with all the whining you guys are doing about this little dlc it's not hard to imagine you kicking and screaming on the floor throwing a fit like a child.

Whats even worse is the same guys above ^^^ are the same ones who were first in line to yell "flop" when the reviews of Operation Anchorage came out. The same guys who when we first learned about the 360 getting exclusive dlc said "we don't care" but now you do.

So just because your not getting some dlc you guys are going after Bethesda for revenge, or you blame MS for everything. How childish to suggest pirating/stealing a game because you brats arn't getting your way.

SL1M DADDY6273d ago

And as for the games from Bethesda... I buy them used and forget the DLC. Just wait for the game to come out with all the DLC included like they did with Oblivion then buy it used.

phosphor1126272d ago

Bioshock for PS3 came out a year or so later than the 360 version. Not having any sort of upgrade is completely dumb and pointless. This, on the other hand, is a multiplat that was released simultaneously, and guess what, even though Fallout 3 sold well for PS3, the are getting shafted in the ass.

Way to give PS3 owners a broken game. Yes, broken, a WRPG in which you can't continue to play after the end of the game.

Jaces6273d ago

I can wait.

Even if it doesn't come I can't say I'd feel left out on some DLC. I prefer a full $60 game compared to some DLC.

Ahh well, nobody said the world was fair. Money talks, fact.

SlappingOysters6273d ago

I just want to see some sort of statistic evidence that MS's big spending on DLC is gaining them any point-of-sale advantage at all or just further sullying thier name of being right ol' C$$$$.

Sayai jin6273d ago (Edited 6273d ago )

SlappingOysters - I think your missing the point on DLC. Why do gamers worry about sales. DLC is for gamers, period. If MS or Sony pays for DLC or gets it for free then this is a plus for gamers, period.

On topic, it always sucks when one console gets content that the other does not. I wish other fellow gamers were able to experience some the latest DLC from Bethesda, "The Pitt". There enough to go around to keep everyone happy. Well, er uh..this is N4G, so you no someone will always be upset.

Game on.

SlappingOysters6273d ago

i was trying to say that if Microsoft are getting nothing out of it console sales wise - which I doubt - then they can stop buying up content.

Then again, this could just be a backlash about Sony charging developers $1.50 per download.

Sayai jin6273d ago (Edited 6273d ago )

I understand what you are saying. You do have a point there.

Was that really true about the 1.50 thing?

I'm not liking this lack of support of the PS3 from bethesda.

GiantEnemyCrab6273d ago (Edited 6273d ago )

Bethesda has no more obligation to make stuff for the PS3 as Kojima or Insomniac have for not supporting the 360.

Yes it sucks and at one time it was crazy to not support the Playstation platform but times have changed. The best thing you can do is not buy Bethesda games. Then they will become 360 exclusives! Isn't business great!

Now you kind of know what it was like to be an Xbox owner last gen. Having crappy 3rd party support contributed to the lack of popularity with the system. MS learned from it.

SinnedNogara6273d ago

If you hate the Wii support, just check the Wii support. They say they don't care about the Wii, and contribute to the problem.

SCREW THEM!!! My brother is missing out on cool DLC.

Rmagnus6273d ago

I don't buy their games, got tons of games yet to be completed anyway

Jaces6273d ago

To be honest I prefer the better first party games to the extra DLC.

Is it great to have exclusive DLC? Sure.

Is it something I "need" to have? No.

swiftshot936273d ago

they have an obligation because they have a fan base. Fallout 3 has been confirmed to sell over 1.3 million units WW on PS3.

"times have changed"
the PS3 is getting third party support, the only reason why you see third parties "supporting" the Xbox 360 slightly more is 100% because of MS, NO other reason (unlike the PS2).
-and I use the term "slightly" loosely, because its only a couple of packs of DLC (GTA, F3, and TR), we're are only missing out on 2 third party games (Lost Planet 2 and Mass Effect 2), which are amended by FFversus and Metal Gear.

Oh, and again, Insomniac has signed to become a second party PS3 developer for the rest of this generation.

Arksine6273d ago (Edited 6273d ago )

I agree that Bethesda isn't obligated to support the PS3, but it doesn't mean that it isn't in their best interest to do so. Your comparison doesn't stick, because Kojima and Insomniac haven't released anything on the 360, and therefore they dont have any customers on that console.

If Bethesda didn't want to extend support for the PS3, then they shouldn't have released Fallout 3 for it. Now they have customers on the PS3 platform that are going to feel shafted.

I own both a 360 and a PS3. I purchased Oblivion Day 1 for the 360. I decided to purchase Fallout 3 for the PS3. I wont be purchasing anything else from Bethesda, on any platform.

JokesOnYou6273d ago (Edited 6273d ago )

"they have an obligation because they have a fan base."

What kind of sense does that make? So because they made a game on that platform before, they are now "obligated" to make more?

This is the deal, Fallout 3 costs $60, you buy Fallout 3 you get to play only Fallout 3. YOU are not "entitled" to anything beyond whats available in your original purchase, not DLC, not a sequel.

Were many of the games that started out on nintendo platform "obligated" to go to nintendo instead of ps2?...and why is it somehow "OK" that some independent studios only make exclusives games because they have a "deal" with one platform, *actually IT IS OK, just like its OK for a 3rd party to pick & choose where exclusive content goes because that is called business, its life ONLY babies scream out its "UNFAIR!" because they can't have everything.

Furthermore the whole world knew long before the game released that there was a deal for DLC with micro, yet YOU still think they OWE those who chose to buy the ps3 version something= buyers remorse, if you were fine with buying the ps3 version then, its kind of pointless to complain after the fact....theres plenty coming for ps3 so missing out on some DLC for a game you already have isn't a big deal, right? Just chalk it up to "you win some you lose some".

Not supporting Bethesda is like giving micro exactly what they want.= More 3rd parties favoring 360 over ps3 because of poor ps3 3rd party sales. As much as I like the 360, I'm not in favor of seeing that situation unfold, but as usual I have to put things in perspective and understand its not the norm outside of n4g.

JOY

AclayPS3, but even by your logic MGS games appeared on the original xbox, thus it's also valid to assume there was at least small fanbase of xbox only owners who wanted to play MGS4, yet its not on the 360. Really I don't see the problem with that because I see no rules of "obligation" by Kojima or Konami, I clearly see they made a conscious choice/business descsion which means those gamers buy a ps3 or they can't play the game. It seems some of you are splitting hairs to decide why in some cases exclusitivity is OK and why in some cases its not, when in fact the end result is EXACTLY THE SAME THING= those who own 1 console miss out on something.

Aclay6273d ago

"Bethesda has no more obligation to make stuff for the PS3 as Kojima or Insomniac have for not supporting the 360."

That was the dumbest thing I've read all day. Kojima and Insomniac themselves have chosen to make their games for the Playstation platform, but the Bethesda/Fallout 3 situation is an entirely different story because Bethesda actually MAKES games for the PS3.

If Bethesda weren't "obligated" to make stuff for the PS3, then why in the hell did they develop Fallout 3 for the PS3 then?

Anyways, even though the Microsoft exclusivity was said to be for the downloadable form of the content, I'm pretty sure that Microsoft struck a deal with Bethesda so that it was Exclusive to the PC/360 100% regardless if it was released in Physical form or Downloadable form, similiar to the GTA4 Downloadable Content.

I'm pretty sure that if Microsoft hadn't struck a deal with Bethesda, the PS3 would be getting the content too because Bethesda released the Oblivion Shivering Isles Expansion pack for the PS3. I'm not hating on Bethesda for not releasing the content on the PS3 because I'm about 99.9% sure the reason the PS3 isn't getting it is because of the deal Microsoft made with Bethesda.

swiftshot936273d ago

When I said that they are obligated to support PS3, I meant it with the DLC. Thats all this is, repackaging of the game with DLC. No sh1t Bethesda will make all retail games for 360/PS3. The topic at hand is the DLC.

lol, do you think its fair to release a game on PS3, support the other console's version with DLC, and not the PS3? They sure as hell are obligated, it freaking sold over 1.3 million, they have fans. When I by my game, they dont have to support it at all. But they better make it even across all consoles.

Not only that, but Bethesda KNOWS they are obligated to as well, but their contract with MS was made prior to the game's release, and no one expected it to sell on PS3.

JD_Shadow6273d ago

They're obligated to support its fan base, not the highest bidder.

It's "true" fan base, and by that I mean those that don't just buy games for a system just because it's on that system, expands amongst all systems, not just the 360 and PC.

Does THAT make more sense?

Sayai jin6273d ago

I fell what you are saying. But one has to wonder why. People will always say it's because MS writing checks, blah, blah, but hey what is wrong with a console maker buying extra content for the people who brought their console. I would like if Sony did this as well. We all know a lot of games are going multi plat because of the price of making games is a lot more currently. Well making DLC cost money to and dev's want to get paid for their work. I know it was not like this last gen, but times change and things change. I wish we could all get DLC for free.

Trebius6273d ago (Edited 6273d ago )

They lost a lot of loyal fans with that dirty move...I know plenty of people that would've bought the DLC too...haha. O well. In the long run this only hurts the developers.

But who knows...maybe M$ paid for the rights to all the addon content as a bundle or something...release it exclusively 1 after the other, and then release it on the other console in 1 big add-on pack. (that wouldnt really sell as well unless it was very cheap)

infamous_276273d ago

WTF is their problem? Does bethesda (yeah, no capital "B") hate money or something!!!?

dveio57d ago

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing57d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9257d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit57d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing57d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9256d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
