They were talking about the world ending in 2012. People started to call in. One guy said in 2011 around Christmas hes going to quit his job and travel the world before the world ends. Its going to be really funny when that guy is crying begging on the streets for money because he wasted his entire life savings traveling the world because he thought the world was going to end in 2012! Quite sad.

And what happend to Windows 7????

It seams like MS is planning on releasing a new OS every 2nd year??? That's not gonna go down well with many people.

But if anyone was in the windows 7 beta would know the performance is very very good.

Windows 95 still is the most stable OS in history in my oppinion. It works good, no problems, allthough it has to boot everytime you change hardware and drivers etc. But allthough the best memories are tight on that OS for me. Windows 98 became more famous because of the bSOD, Win ME was a shame, Win NT was good, 2000 also (but less fast), XP was good, but also had it's bugs and Vista is by far the worst OS in history. I run it right now and everything that can crash crashes.

Windows 8 already? Why so soon?

As an ordinary consumer, I much prefer it than XP although I do have a fairly updated hardware.

It gives me better shortcuts. It is easier to find and search stuff. I can arrange stuff easier and quicker. It's all the links they enable you to add that makes Vista useful. The toolbar is exactly the way I wanted it for years. It ALWAYS groups my opened programs that are running same software next to each other.

I am also aware of the compatibility issues it has for companies but still doesn't apply to me.

They really should focus on Windows 7 and give it a four to five year run. What made Windows XP great was that it had a long run which worked out most of the issues and made it the OS of choice.

Take it easy, Windows 7 didn't even release and now your talking about Windows 8?!

I believe that after 2012 totally fails as a world ending or super energy shifting, or the coming of the UFO and aliens, or the victory of peace, love an understanding... after it fails at any of the above in a spectacular way, people will probably turn their eyes at... 2020... or 2018... something closer in time than 12 years (which is 2012 to 2000, the latest iteration of the world´s end). Then that will fail too... leaving us to opt for 2022... or 2021... then after that, we will give it another year. By then (2022-2024) a large farmaceutical will have finally come with a drug called "revelation" or something like that. Which will have the people believe on the promise of total change on a daily basis, while scientist work on teleportation, flying cars and so on, and hollywood tries to stage an ultra realistic landing of an UFO with holographic aliens for people to believe in... Then we can all "live" that "real" world´s end or whatever, and stop using the drug... or... the drug will have proven to be an EXCELENT means of crontrolling masses and we will live forever in a loop of "expecting the world end for tomorrow while mantaining social cohesion" forever.

I need new windows for my house. that would be 9 of them.:)

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.

Is this like the 10th quarter in a row they're down 33% on hardware how is that even mathematically possible. You would think their mediocrity would Plateau
