Knowing capcom it'll be a 5 dollar fee for each character after the original roster of 25.

TheHater6163d ago

you are joking right? Do you honestly think they are going to charge us $5 per character after the game is release?
It more like they will give us the 25 character and the "option" option selection only in the menu. We are going to have to pay $5 for "Arcade mode," another $5 for "VS MODE," and another $5 for "Training mode" :)
Oh and lets not forget that we will have to pay $2.99 per extra costumes per characters. :)

Jinxstar6163d ago

lol.

I have the original PS2 game still. This is a good announcement pending it's all true but yeah... I hope they don't nickle and dime gamers with this but they probably will =D

Lifendz6163d ago

Other than making Lost Planet 2 a 360 exclusive (timed or otherwise), Capcom has done a good amount of things right.

Mindboggle6163d ago

How the hell do peiple even find these sites....It could be fake for all we know...

iTZKooPA6162d ago

I must be the only guy in the world that hates it.... Horrible gameplay... utterly broken and unbalance as a fighting game...

HDgamer6163d ago

You're not the only one who dislikes the flimsy fighting. I prefer Capcom vs SNk 2, much more better. But MVC2 has a couple of good characters to play with that aren't spam ready for n00bs.

GEESE6163d ago

And I agree with the guy above me, CAPCOM VS SNK 2 is the greatest fighter ever.
We need Capcom V SNK 3! And none of this gay 3d sh1t plz.
Oh, yeah KOF12 will be sweet too.
All this MVC2 stuff is just hype for a psn/xbl release. There will be no remake mark my words, that contract between those companies has long flown.

DMasta7186163d ago

I've been saying this for YEARS.

I put CVS2 above MVC2. I would rather CVS2 be on the PSN/XBL.

I still will get MVC2 on the PSN. And about it being HD, I don't know. For them to do HD sprites, they would have to redraw every character in that game and we all know how long SFIIHD took. But then again, they have probably been working on a HD remake of MVC2 for a good while. Before we even knew. Hopefully it becomes HD. Doing 3 ultra specials back to back while watching it HD would be a sight to see.

ceedubya96163d ago

I liked MVC2 for the character roster and pure carnage.

But Capcom VS SNK 2 had to be one the best 2D fighters I have ever played.

tehk1w16163d ago

The fact that this game is steadily regularly played at tournaments kind of disproves that this game is for button mashing noobs.

Sure there's some characters more OP'ed than others (but that's true of any fighting game -perhaps more so in MVC2 admittedly) but skill always beats out some scrub doing half circle punch over and over with Cable or Iceman.

MvsC was amazingly fun. I do not even like fighting games and I thought that game was awesome. Would love to play as Colossus from X-men and get some fast ball special on.

okay, i cant breathe...
been waiting for a long time for this to happen..

20 Years Ago, Marvel vs Capcom 2 Delivered a Legendary Crossover

Everyone is trying the shared universe thing these days, but Marvel and Capcom were mashing up their most beloved characters decades ago. Perhaps their best crossover effort was Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes, which was released on the PlayStation 2 & Xbox on Nov. 19, 2002, in North America. Previous releases took place in arcades and on Sega’s beloved but ill-fated Dreamcast console. Later releases came out on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360’s digital storefronts.

Former employees of Backbone Entertainment have formed a new company called Digital Eclipse. On Twitter studio head Mike Mika confirmed they would love to help the fans. In addition to having ported MvC 2 before, the studio has worked with Disney on re-releases of the Disney Afternoon Collection, Aladdin and The Lion King. Legions of fans are waiting for Marvel vs. Capcom 2 to take them for one more ride.

Please work it out. I have fond memories of this fighter game. Not to mention the sequels just aren't as balanced as this game was.

Absonite1628d ago

Balance? MvC2?! It was totally batshit unbalanced, but that's what made it fun.

sourOG1628d ago

I laughed hard at balance lol. It is completely f***ing broken. Balance isn’t what people are looking for. Mk11 was the most balanced MK ever and the overall consensus was “restrictive and boring”.

PurpHerbison1628d ago (Edited 1628d ago )

For the noobs and average players it can be seen as balanced but at the highest competitive level it is absolutely broken. There was a ratio mod released recently that is actually pretty interesting and allows way more of the cast to see some play.

RedDevils1628d ago

You can always balance my bank account.

Teflon021628d ago

No one cares about balance in MvC2. Games all about being unbalanced lol. If it was, it likely wouldn't be good

Lexreborn21628d ago

MvC2 is so unbalanced pros make special brackets to limit the amount of clone teams this game has at high levels. Even now Justin Wong and others have only been playing with the character cost format to make it interesting.

CrimsonWing691628d ago (Edited 1628d ago )

Did you ever play as Cable or play someone else who was using Cable? This is an incredibly unbalanced game and honestly some of the most fun is making a redonkulous team and just clapping cheeks.

KwietStorm_BLM1627d ago

Balanced... Storm, Sentinel and Magneto breathe a sigh of relief.

I really enjoyed the game on Dreamcast.

A lot less when it was later re-released on newer systems, because I believe all characters were already unlocked instead of you playing to unlock them. The SP experience on those re-releases was just ‘less’ than the Dreamcast version, which was a bit disappointing.

Would love a proper HD remake/remaster, if given the care & love it deserves (instead of a quick cash-grab with a mediocre port).

Would also love to see Capcom release a FullHD port/renaster/remake of Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max (psp).

Teflon021628d ago

Seeing the Alpha games storyline is being promoted in SFV, with all the mainline titles, it really should get one

WiiU-Dude1628d ago

I'm very interested in this.

Vandamme211628d ago

Why not just make a new game

CrimsonWing691628d ago

Well, they uh… tried that already and…

BlaqMagiq11628d ago

They did. And it was extremely mediocre.

PurpHerbison1626d ago

Not sure what you mean though. Marvel 3 was pretty damn good and Marvel Infinite was too. Infinite just suffered from poor graphics but the gameplay and netcode was actually pretty solid.

FallenAngel19841628d ago

I want them to rerelease the entire Marvel vs Capcom series on modern platforms, from X:Men Children of the Atom to Marvel vs Capcom 2

I’d also love for the next Marvel vs Capcom title to live up to its series legacy rather than being a disappointment like Infinite

CosmicTurtle1628d ago

I said the same thing without seeing your comment. X-Men vs Street Fighter and MSH were stunning games. They look great to this day.

I did not mind MvC3 and ultimate but the last entry was dire.

Godmars2901628d ago

And I want them to go back to 2D - know THAT'S not happening!

Nice compromise would be something stylized towards what Guilty Gear does than their own attempts at 3D.
