4 years and zero gameplay footage. I think this game is going to feel a bit dated by the time it releases. I hope it delivers, as it sounds like it could have a great story, but I am expecting it to fall flat on it's face, straight off the mountain of too lofty expectations that it has been placed upon.

Killzone 2 has a 92 on metacritic, so I would like to see Alan Wake reach 93.

all i have to say is that this game will be exclusive to xbox 360 as a console and pc. the xbox 360 version will be limited to a dvd 9 disc, and this game will be a open world game like gta 4. what can we expect in the graphics department of this game , think of s.o.4, crackdown, ninety nine nights, test drive unlimited , but mostly gta 4 since its of the same genre. my point is that these games had wide open spaces to explore but suffered in graphics,slowdowns and pop ins. this game might be better since the devs are very experienced but i cant help but look at the track record of open world game on the xbox 360 .

some of the footage are new, I have to say its doesnt look as good as in motion compare to the earlier screen shots that were released this year. Great lighting and huge environment. The character models and assets looks very outdated by today standard.

2 of Microsoft biggest exclusive are gonna come out in 2010, Mass Effect2 and Alan Wake.

I know there aren't many exclusive for the 360 this year but, there are plenty multiplat like Moder Warfare 2, bioshock2, Mafia2 ,ect.

It was confirmed about 2 years ago that Alan Wake requires at least Vista to be playable on PC. And I doubt this has changed since then. So those who want to play it on Windows XP are out of luck.

remedy said that the 360 and pc version will look almost identicel sure a texture there and here might look a littel better but the way ps3 fanboys are talking. you might think that the 360 game will look like a psp game.

If you want to play it on PC it must be a pricey one and from your looks you only afford a ps3 and don't afford an xbox because you bash it and therefore you are unable to afford a high-end pc to play the game of the year.

Edit: OMG it is/was true. I doubt it still remains the same though, Vista is not popular so I doubt we will see mass upgrades just for a game.

If you have a 360, get it for 360. The only people ranting about playing it on PC are those who don't have a 360, because there's no other reason why I wouldn't see getting it for that system if you have it.

What 5 years in development? I thouht only PS3 games could be developed that long. Guess this game and Too Flop are crushing the development time on all PS3 games combined.

I have been waiting for this game for a LONG time. Even though they mentioned this game is like the movie "Insomnia", I think Alan Wake kinda reminds me of "Memento" which is also directed by Christopher Nolan. I love Psychological thrillers but I always believe that they should belong under some RPG elements. Bottom Line, this should be an awesome game and I am going to purchase my copy whenever it comes out! :]

The cut scenes in this game so far does not even compare to uncharted, let alone killzone 2, or even RE5... As for the graphics in the still pictures, they look amazing, but seeing the game in motion(gameplay) will show its true colors and from what I'm seeing so far, uncharted 2 looks better to be honest.

Parts of the latest trailer was released last year around October/November so the graphics, animations etc should be improved.

First real info I've gotten about this game and I must say that I'm intrigued. It looks like a good game and I'll probably pick it up when it comes out. It depends how they handle the enemies since their going for realistic instead of zombies, demons, etc. They need to make it actually scary or the whole thing will fall on its face. Also with an open world, they need to make sure it doesn't get repetitive.

To the people talking about graphics, please stop. I don't think this game is shooting to be any kind of graphical king, but rather a unique experience.
