Kotaku was kind enough to point everyone to this editorial, where George Will decides to go off on a number of items in popular culture starting with denim clothing, moving on to slam television and films as well. In the middle of his screed is this line:
"Seventy-five percent of American 'gamers' - people who play video games - are older than 18 and nevertheless are allowed to vote."
The implication being that gamers are somehow incapable of making competent political decisions.

New report from Skillsearch found that 22% of those surveyed had been laid off within the past 12 months.

It's a step forward for Stop Killing Games.

The Callisto Protocol director thinks the solution involves the right people, the right timing, and perhaps a little bit of AI
I don't agree with that. I WISH I could agree with that. But buying habits and customer opinions prove otherwise
We've seen developers in the AAA space try new things and ideas. More often than not, the customers aren't willing to give things a chance, or not enough people buy into the project for it to grow.
Creativity works better in the indie space because the budgets, pressures, and expectations aren't the same.
it's a nice idea and it worked during the PS2/PS3-era when AAA didn't cost hundreds of millions of dollars. smaller budgets and shorter development time left room for more creativity and more risk. a game didn't need to sell 4 million+ copies to break even. things are different now.
This is the guy who bragged about crunching his staff and having them work through the night. Crunch culture has lost more talent and done more damage to the industry than any other factor. Screw him.
george will shouldn't be allowed to reproduce
Wow. An old guy ragging on current pop culture? Rewind 25 years and you have this exact same sort of person making claims that MTV-watchers shouldn't be allowed to vote. Go back another 25 years and it's comic books. Or Elvis. Or showing off your ankles. Or running away from your master's plantation.
People in this day and age that are willingly wearing bow tie should not be allowed to vote.
not alot of people may know this but "George Will" means "C0ck head" in some foreign languages
I'm sorry to say but he's right, you should have to pass a test showing that you know what you are voting for. There are to many idiots in this country that vote for something or someone because it's the popular thing or just because it's on the list.
When I voted I didn't know what one of the things on there was for so I left it blank. It's just like building a house yourself with just your family. I can tell you right now I would not want my sister doing the wiring for the house just because she can plug a lamp into an outlet.
