Yet I have to disagree......the analogue sticks need tension ...and the quite simply its not as comfortable as the 360...and to me having both systems certain genres work better with each system so there is no winner to me...but the Wii is over all most comfortable and the worst controller

it's all in the matter that which one you are used to.

I have no problems playing with either one so they are equals IMO.

Maybe its because my damn left stick is always going forward on all 4 of my controllers, damn you cod4. Teh d-pad is 10x better though.

360 controller's form factor, analog placement, and shoulder buttons + PS3 controller's face buttons, D-Pad, and Bluetooth/no batteries = Ultimate combo IMHO.

My main problems with the 360 pad are the D-pad, which is absolutely awful, and the central button. I don't know why but my two controllers had the same problem after a month, the central button remains stuck. So sometimes i have to take the battery off and hit the controllers to bring out the button.
(and if you have a solution for that problem, i listen wide open, i don't want to buy other controllers)

Otherwise, to me both PS3 and 360 controllers are identical. I don't have a real preference.

Just a few days ago I was playing COD WaW co op with a friend and I was using the SIXAXIS but sadly, the L3's (Left Analog stick) gray plastic got loose and when I try to do 360 turns and what not, the plastic seems to rub on top of the stick (basically the gray plastic top does circles around the stick so it moves with my thumb) which pretty much makes any movement futile and unresponsive.

I guess my SIXAXIS was cheaply glued up because this has never happened to my DS2 controllers and I've used them a lot more than my PS3 controllers.

Well, the 360 controller is better for FPS simply because of the spacing between analogs. The PS3 controller is a well round pad, works great on any kind of game but excells in platformers, racers and fighters.

The proof is that the dualshock is the older controller around, roughly for about 12 years or so, and for being alive so long it´s because its the best one. No argue possible.

I hope the next Playstation still uses the same type of controller.

I have noticed the left analog stick has lost rigidity and become somewhat wobble effect. Still very responsive, but weird. Overall i will take the DS3 any day for any game, very ergonomic and tight fit

1. No battery, no power problem.
2. You can always find your controller if you follow the wire.
3. Just 2 button, its enough for casual gamer.
4. You can shoot them again the wall, its only 5 buck for a new one.
5. You can use there sharp edge to defend yourself.

Only a blind dumb motherfncking extreme PS fan will say that the PS3 controller is better than the Xbox 360 Controller. I know the D-Pad suck on previously model butt in the rest gives the PS3 Controller a big kick in the azz. 360 controller even won a lot of awards and people on PC industry praise it.

Personally i find the ps3 controller too small and cramped especialy when playing FPS games, and for fighting games the x360 pad sux's bad

the placement and feel of the analogue sticks - not to mention that they have a smaller dead zone than that of the 360.

I want the shape of the 360 but the analog sticks and d-pad from the ps3. I also want the square, x, circle and triangle from the ps3. It would for me be the best controler.

most of this is personal preference.......but I will say this. I can sit a whole lot further from my tv while charging the 360 controller than I can when charging the ps3 controller.

I actually like the 360 controller better for first person shooters. The PS3 controller lacks tension and it becomes a choir trying to aim at a steady pace. I also like the anolog stick place placement on the 360 its a lot more comfortable

Pressure sensitive buttons. If you are in a racing game, and you hit the gas, you can press it lightly, and accelerate slowly, or push harder on the button to go faster. This is unique to the Playstation controller family.

Don't have a 360 so can't say which is 'best'. All I can add is that I've had no problems with my PS3 pad at all, ever. Games like RESISTANCE, KILLZONE 2, WIPEOUT HD and the like all control fine to me.

Im a ps3 fanboy all the way but the 360 controller is slick... To bad it came with stupid batteries that are the biggest PITA.

I like both for different reasons, if I had to pick i would choose the 360 IF they didnt have the stupid batteries... That causes enough grief to like my Ps3 controller with the "non replaceable" battery.. OMG is it a lot easier to deal with. Plus last longer.

well i guess 360 controller is best for shooters and its ok for sports games and racing but it fails in anything action oriented like fighters or action games.

ps3 controller is good for shooters, not amazing, but its well balanced and u can play ANY game on them. the d-pad is also amazing for fighters and the easy access of buttons makes it good for games like devil may cry.

also rpgs feel wierd on 360, holding that high analog on the left tires my hand out after a while, noticed it in star ocean and infinite undiscovery.

Any day of the week. I think that is why Killzone 2 controls like crap. Call of Duty 4-5 just perform better with the 360 controller. Better response and feedback is spot on.

This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

It’s always interesting to hear behind-the-scenes stories like this, especially involving veterans like Shuhei Yoshida and leadership figures like Jim Ryan. That said, there are usually multiple sides to decisions at that level. It could be less about not “listening” and more about differences in long-term vision for PlayStation. Yoshida played a huge role in shaping the brand, so whatever the reason, his impact is undeniable.

If true, and I'm inclined to believe it is, it goes to show that Sony lost their way when they became more western/didn't respect the PlayStation origin story. Andrew House and Jack Tretton did great work, but they also didn't try to fundamentally change the PlayStation DNA. Ryan oversaw the death of Japan Studio and a live service direction.

I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

There's another guy who recently "retired" as CEO of another large gaming company, after doing a dismantling job as lead for well over a decade.

seems legit, the business man, fires the one who has ideas to move the business forward.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.

I hope going forward, we will see a return to form.
