Unannounced PS3 Exclusives To Explode At E3?

Has anyone noticed that many of the most anticipated unannounced projects seem to be PlayStation 3 exclusives? Not all of them, certainly, but the buzz tends to center on PS3 games that haven't been officially confirmed just yet, and there is the distinct possibility that we could see some huge announcements at E3.

I don't buy that. I want to finally see actual game footage of Heavy Rain at E3(not a bonus scene), along with a solid 2009 release date. I want to see Team Ico's new game at E3, I want to see Twisted Metal PS3 at E3.

Probably none with happen. Pretty disappointing.

PotNoodle6281d ago

Have you not seen the full, leaked footage of heavy rain gameplay? It is amazing, you can't tell if you are in a cutscene or gameplay thanks to the fact there is no loading screens between the two and the camera angles are used in the same way on both gameplay and cutscenes.

Lfmesquite6281d ago

I also understand, it was a bonus scene created to demonstrate. I would like to see a part of the real game. I want to see if the story and characters looks interesting.

I know Quantic Dream doesn't want to give away any part of the story, but come on, how are you suppose to get hyped if you have no idea what the story is about? How do you know if it seems interesting to you or not?

It's like a movie, they don't give away the movie, but they still show previews. Imagine they didn't show previews, how would you know if the movie interested you or not?

Imagine the movie Braveheart, they would of showed previews, and they showed a bonus scene of 2 Scottish men having sex, just to show you the costumes and environments in the movie, without giving away the Braveheart plot? That's stupid.

I mean David Gage made a bonus scene, just to conceal the games storyline and characters? That's going too far.

I think In-game footage is a lock,as the game is for Fall...

As for other "Unannounced PS3 games" .....

The mystery Game the BBC reporter raved about.

Kingdom hearts 3? I get a feeling it will be unveiled at TGS,and announced for what systems...

Dark cloud 3.Slight chance,it will probably be at TGS...

Studio Cambridge "should" be there, and I would hope come up with something quirky/stylish/creative...Some thing along the lines of Medievil? That would be great...

Perhaps Insomniac's NC dev house is ready to show a new IP?Like that "rumored" Act/RPG platformer? That would be incredible and shake, rattle and roll E3...But I get a feeling Insomniac will devote all their E3 time to R&C ACIT...But perhaps concept art of a new project?

ICO.....Just needs to be there....

gaffyh6281d ago (Edited 6281d ago )

@1.2 - No you are thinking about the wrong scene. The first one with the woman crying and pointing a gun to the camera is the bonus scene. Also they did this to show a concept of the game, before the game development even started. How were they concealing the gameplay? There is leaked footage of Heavy Rain release months ago, with gameplay and in-engine footage.

Team ICO's game will be coming 2010, it may be announced at E3, but I doubt it, probably at TGS.

Raoh6281d ago

THe reason for the bonus footage is because like kojima, David Cage wants the story to remain a mystery.

Panipal20056281d ago

Careful, they might get the idea it's OK to disappoint people @ E3 because no-one expects Trico til TGS. And Ueda's bad at keeping TGS appointments anyway.

Mainman6281d ago

Didnt they show gameplay footage of heavy rain?

This woman went into a house to investigate and got attacked by the owner. From what I could tell, that was gameplay, and you had the choice to choose between square and triangle etc to choose your characters actions.

thor6281d ago

Lfmesquite is CORRECT.

The "taxidermist" scene we have seen GAMEPLAY of is NOT in the final game; the characters may reappear but the plot is completely different. So I also want to see some actual in-game footage of the actual plot, but not too much because I don't want it spoiled!

FlameBaitGod6281d ago

Well Sony has a 3 game contract with Rockstar. Maybe will see one of their exclusive games in E3

I was thinking that you submitted this at first.

sinncross6281d ago (Edited 6281d ago )

The only reason there will be new announced title for 2009 and 2010 for the PS3, is because Sony have already said there will be.

I'm expecting 2 of their 5 RPG's to be shown with one of them being Legend of Dragoon 2. I think that it will be more possible then either KH3 or FF7 remake being announced, but if the last two happened then I'm all for it.

Team Ico will obviously show (may still be trying for a 2009 release) and Twisted Metal is definitely on the cards. I suspect Sly Cooper for PS3 and another for PSP will be shown for 2010 releases and Gran Turismo 5 to be a 2010 release, but some of the features shown will become part of free patches for GT5P: At the moment, GT5P is going to be a marketing avenue neither Sony or PD will want to miss.

I can see many other things being announced (along with around 10 PSP titles). The only question is whether MS and Nintendo will be able to oust Sony out of a very awesome software position for 2009.

lukeb4dunk6281d ago

Man, how long have I waited for a sequel for Legend of Dragoon? TOO long! I would love to see this happening, but I honestly doubt that it will.

Kain816281d ago

than there is Syphonfilter 5, the Team Ico project, Twisted Metal, Hardware 2, Heavy Rain, Wardevil, the Rockstar Exclusiv, GT5, Uncharted 2,
Ratched and Clank:acit, Starhawk, Cambridge project (maybe Medievil), God of War 3, and the rumored RPGs like Darkcloud 3, Legend of the Dragoon Remake or sequell, Wild Arms, Rogue Galaxy 2, and Skys of Arcadia ( Sega has given some Hints about that last year). But its possible that some of this games will show at TGS2009, cause there main audiance is in Japan for games like that.

pwnsause6281d ago

you mean the rpg's are for saved for TGS...

sharpened sense6281d ago

What about those 3 exclusive games that EPIC making for ps3. When will those be announced?

"PS3 exclusives machine"

I know... It never stops.

Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.

They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

solideagle60d ago

they should know that we are OG fans of VIII as it sold truckload as well. not as much as VII or X. I personally didn't like IX but X and VI are my personal fav.

Shadow Hearts 2 covenant is another game I love. I hope one day someone can make remake, I would be delighted

Underrated comment. I used to hate that game so much that any time my siblings asked me to play it, I just picked Hom and shut myself down mid-match.

And then MK1 killed it again.

PlayStation legend Shuhei Yoshida says Jim Ryan fired him because he didn't listen to him

Why did Sony push Shuhei Yoshida out of his role leading PlayStation's first-party games? He'd overseen some huge successes. Well, apparently, he didn't listen.

Yeah I can see that for sure. Shuhei Yoshida should have been in charge not Jim Ryan.

Cacabunga68d ago

It should be free highway for him now.. but Sony are too stupid to see this, especially that moron Hulst

S2Killinit68d ago (Edited 68d ago )

Wtf why all that anger. PlayStation is dominating on every level. Besides I think there is a little more to hiring a CEO than just who is available. Its not like its a athlete your team wants to buy.

neutralgamer199268d ago

S2Killinit

live service failures, chasing trends, closing studios. yes dominating

Cacabunga68d ago

Sony is Dominating because competition is not existing. Compared to previous gens this is the poorest in terms of software offerings.

Last gen we got Uncharted 4 Lost Legacy and TLOU2 from ND alone.

This is so far a remasters gen, with no competition to lift up the quality

1nsomniac68d ago (Edited 68d ago )

..."PlayStation is dominating on every level"....

...Really???

PlayStation are soon heading into a new generation in the not to distant future. They currently have the worst customer satisfaction they've ever sustained as a company. The company is heading for a huge crash while at the same time they'll need to be planning how they are going to try and win back that favour and the build up to their new releases.

Yes financially they're winning but they're going to have to ride out this complete public corporate disaster. No one has faith in the company or the product anymore. They've damaged their public image so much this generation. Greed can kill anyone.

medman68d ago

Hulst is a disaster......

He would've done the same thing and fire Jim Ryan and Shuhei would be the villain. Why?
Because Elite creates the narrative and distraction for gamers, users and citizens.

Outside_ofthe_Box68d ago

More confirmation that Jim Ryan is the culprit for what has happened to Sony. Hulst needs to go too. What sucks is that a lot of the good top heads at Sony are no longer there. I wish that guys that were forced out prematurely by Dumbo Jimbo like Shuhei and Layden came back.

robtion68d ago

Yep. Yoshida was responsible for bringing one of the best games of this generation to playstation (Stellar Blade). He is an actual gamer and is in touch with what gamers want (creative, fun games, not GaaS and agenda pushing). He also seems like a genuinely nice guy if you watch some interviews. Of course they got rid of him.

darthv7268d ago

Makes you wonder if MS even thought about hiring him after Phil and Sarah were leaving. He certainly couldn't make their situation any worse.

Agent7568d ago

Microflop. After Windows XP and Xbox 360, it all went floppy.

S2Killinit68d ago

Floppy 😆
No pun intended

badz14968d ago

Yoshida for President! Jim Ryan was and always be a hack! Sony should get Shu back

Lightning7768d ago

All the gamer/consumer lead heads are gone across PS and Xbox. shuhei gone phil's gone (questionable) but gone. The future of gaming is somewhat uncertain across the board.
