We've seen developers in the AAA space try new things and ideas. More often than not, the customers aren't willing to give things a chance, or not enough people buy into the project for it to grow.
Creativity works better in the indie space because the budgets, pressures, and expectations aren't the same.
it's a nice idea and it worked during the PS2/PS3-era when AAA didn't cost hundreds of millions of dollars. smaller budgets and shorter development time left room for more creativity and more risk. a game didn't need to sell 4 million+ copies to break even. things are different now.
This is the guy who bragged about crunching his staff and having them work through the night. Crunch culture has lost more talent and done more damage to the industry than any other factor. Screw him.

Well the 360 sells constantly. In North America, it sold almost twice as much as the PS3 last month.
In Japan it's always been hard for Japan, but those numbers don't make up the difference in NA by far for PS3.
So look at the larger picture.
360 sold 11 million
PS3 sold 1.6 million in USA/Japan. Launch Australia/Europe Sony says they sold 500k. That's 2.1 million
still about 9 million to go to catch up. How do you think they'll manage to do that if they sell less or about the same as the 360??? How many years will it take to catch up 9 million units?

What would you expect? The PS2 is outselling the PS3 also. Even better said. Buy a 360 and a PS2 now and spend less then a PS3, but have God of War 2 on the PS2 and all the next gen greatness on the 360
