please find some real 360 news...

please please please.

no more lists.. or numbers... just.. anything new.. please.

Trollimite6242d ago

but i also believe that controllers dont matter. they both have there pros and cons.

its up to the gamer to decide not couchmercenaries.com. to each his own

HighDefinition6242d ago

Personally, I think both are good.

I prefer the PS controller more. What I don`t like about the 360 controller is that it takes batteries.

RememberThe3576242d ago (Edited 6242d ago )

but the stick on the DuelShock 3 are just too damn good. The DuelShock 3, IMO, is the better controller.

Plus, the d-pad on the 360 is booty, I can't play no Tekken on that thing!

Feihc Retsam6242d ago

The 360 controller is more ergonomic, and suits me better for long-haul sessions of FPS, driving, action games. The trigger and shoulder buttons are more naturally placed as well.

The PS3 controller has a superior D-pad, no doubt. It also has better vibration IMO. I also like the feedback on the four face buttons over the xbox 360s XYAB buttons.

Overall, I prefer the 360 controller due to its comfort

jadenkorri6242d ago

when i use the 360 controller, im always hitting R1 when trying to use R2, never happens on the DS3

Ricegum6242d ago

PS3 controller always wins for me...my hands have more or less moulded to perfectly fit around a playstation controller where I've used one since the ps1, anything else feels weird. 360 controller feels much too big to me, to be honest...

ShinMaster6242d ago

Your thumbs naturally point up. DS3 keypad = win.

On the 360 pad, you have to curve them down.

edgeofblade6242d ago

I like the 360 controller over the PS3 for everything except fighting games. I especially prefer it for first person shooters. A company called XCM makes adapters for PS3 to 360 and vice versa. I plug a 360 controller into their adapter and I can better enjoy a game of Killzone 2. I highly recommend you buy the Cross Battle Adapter Plus (360 controller on PS3) over the original version as they fixed a crucial flaw.

As for those fanboys on both sides who want to claim perfection, you're keeping your respective companies from improving just so you can win a stupid argument. Grow up.

"360 controller feels much too big to me, to be honest"

AS you get older and mature your hands should grow unless your a midget of course.

5 reasons why Nuts and Bolts (x360) is better than Little Big Planet (PS3)

Am i the only one that finds this retarded?

JHUX6242d ago

You can't have a "best controller" really in my opinion. I mean it always comes down to preference. I know people who prefer 360 controller for shooters, but for me and a lot of people I know they prefer DS3 for everything. I just don't like the 360 controllers layout, it's all my preference though, my hands are much more comfortable with the DS3. It may also be that i've used that for so long it's just what I'm used to. Some people want a change in the ps3's controller layout, but I'm one of the people who want it to stay the same. You can't say any controller is better than the other, you could say the Wii is more "high-tech" maybe due to its made motion controlling work, but to be honest, for the games I want on the Wii, unless Im playing wii sports, i would rather use a normal controller (zelda, super smash, etc....)

Marcelles256242d ago

for number three they are wrong you just take it apart and get a replacement battery it is a pain to do but you don't have to buy a whole new controller
and for number two the keypad for playstation is alot better you can actually use it for your phone cause it's bluetooth, it has touch mode so you can use it as a mouse but the down side is you have to charge it but your thumbs point up not down so how would the xbox 360 one be better plus the keypad is alot bigger
i like the analog sticks on ps3 better the only reson they switched the sticks on xbox is for copy right issues
personally i like the feel of the 360's controller more but the functionality of the ps3's controller is better

IdleLeeSiuLung6242d ago (Edited 6242d ago )

I actually prefer the battery setup of the 360. Why? Because it uses regular AA batteries, the kind you can find in the store.

Benefit:

- I can have pre-charge batteries sitting around ready to go. If I run out of charge, it is an easy task to put some new ones in and back into play.

- No messy wires that are too short (Sony what were you thinking with that short USB cord?) and a b!tch to charge. Batteries don't charge when you turn off your console (PS3) or the damn thing is still on and loud (Xbox 360)

- I bought these excellent Eneloop rechargeable batteries at Costco for around $25 with 8 AA batteries, 4 AAA batteries, some adapters and a charger. For $5 more than the Play'N Charge kit (X360), I can have 4 sets of batteries ready for my 360 and Wii!

- The batteries don't drain just sitting around. The PS3 controller's batteries will drain to next to zero charge if left alone for about a week. The Eneloop will keep their charge for months!

- Finally, replacement is easy. No need to open the controller voiding any warranty (in US that is 90 days for accessories....), hunting down a third party battery that might explode and having to take the controller apart.

I made the mistake of buying the Play'N Charge kit with my controller (ok, I paid $44 for both on sale), although the charging cable was long, it was still junk!

Get one of these sucka's:

360
Better analogues
Better triggers by a mile
Face buttons are a wash imo
Comfortable to hold

which leaves ps3 with
Better dpad
And tilt functionality

pain777pas6241d ago

@Trollmite
Well said. They both could be better. To me I want what works. The dpad does not work well on the 360 pad. Love the casing but the PS3,2,1 pad just works everything works.

I like the feel of the 360 controller's shape more (it actually fills my hands and feels somewhat like a Dreamcast controller), but I enjoy the buttons and button layout on the PS3 controller much more. 360 buttons feel cheap and toy-like, and they don't grip very well, especially the face buttons(X,Y,A,B). The dome shape of the face buttons also annoy me, and it's no question which controller has the better D-Pad.

But that's just my opinion. I really don't care about controllers too much unless they're BAD controllers. I can switch between the Wii, PS3, 360, Dreamcast, SNES, DS, etc etc etc just fine. It's all about the GAMES that the controllers are used to play, after all...

edgeofblade6242d ago (Edited 6242d ago )

It's no secret I prefer 360, but I think it's useful to point out what's out and out bad about each controller. You can argue about what they do better, but in practice, what they do worst is more relevant:

* 360: hit and miss d-pad. Little known fact: Microsoft will replace your gamepad if you claim a malfunctioning d-pad. OR you could perform a mod of the controller like I did. Look for XCM controller cases marked as having "new" d-pads.

* PS3: convex triggers. Seriously... who thought that was a good idea? Luckily most designers have the sense to use R1/L1 by default AND to allow switching to the triggers in the options.

AND it's important to point out what the matters of opinion are. Neither stick placement is "better". It's whatever you prefer. Don't try to push a halfbaked line of logic that proposes one is some how more logical.

7thNightvolley6241d ago

360 controller, i do have big hands so the small ps3 controller is not good over long hours of play i do play like mega loads at least 4 hrs a day so i can usually do kz2 for 2 hrs but then i get really tired and achy. i love the shock feedback on ps3 and the d pad its awesome but for me its the comfort of 360 and the triggers. 360 d pad just sucks anyway

BubbleSystemSuck6242d ago

the Dualshock 3 its not at 60U$D, is 45 now... in 5 year it will cost less 25u$d.
And you dont need to buy a NEW DS3, just buy the battery, its onlo 9 dollars.

hey cool.. nice OPINIONS

fail...

-EvoAnubis-6242d ago

Both controllers are good. I'm not fond of the asymmetrical sticks on the 360's gamepad, but that's just a personal thing. Either way, both are fine. I'm just glad MS stepped their game up from the absolutely horrid Xbox controller.

MetalProxy6242d ago

my only problem with the 36zero controler is the LB button is almost impossible for me to use. And its because the left analog is positioned to far up. Maybe my hands are to big I dont know. But my hand starts to cramp big time if I have to use both the left trigger and bumper. Oh and that battery pack is in the wrong spot.

edgeofblade6242d ago

There are some people who still prefer the Duke (the ORIGINAL original Xbox controller), but unlike them, my pituitary gland functions normally...

Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.

They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

solideagle19d ago

they should know that we are OG fans of VIII as it sold truckload as well. not as much as VII or X. I personally didn't like IX but X and VI are my personal fav.

Shadow Hearts 2 covenant is another game I love. I hope one day someone can make remake, I would be delighted

Final Fantasy VIII is great and you are always the first to defend it in the comments

Underrated comment. I used to hate that game so much that any time my siblings asked me to play it, I just picked Hom and shut myself down mid-match.

PlayStation legend Shuhei Yoshida says Jim Ryan fired him because he didn't listen to him

Why did Sony push Shuhei Yoshida out of his role leading PlayStation's first-party games? He'd overseen some huge successes. Well, apparently, he didn't listen.

Relientk7728d ago

Yeah I can see that for sure. Shuhei Yoshida should have been in charge not Jim Ryan.

Cacabunga28d ago

It should be free highway for him now.. but Sony are too stupid to see this, especially that moron Hulst

S2Killinit27d ago (Edited 27d ago )

Wtf why all that anger. PlayStation is dominating on every level. Besides I think there is a little more to hiring a CEO than just who is available. Its not like its a athlete your team wants to buy.

neutralgamer199227d ago

S2Killinit

live service failures, chasing trends, closing studios. yes dominating

Cacabunga27d ago

Sony is Dominating because competition is not existing. Compared to previous gens this is the poorest in terms of software offerings.

Last gen we got Uncharted 4 Lost Legacy and TLOU2 from ND alone.

This is so far a remasters gen, with no competition to lift up the quality

1nsomniac27d ago (Edited 27d ago )

..."PlayStation is dominating on every level"....

...Really???

PlayStation are soon heading into a new generation in the not to distant future. They currently have the worst customer satisfaction they've ever sustained as a company. The company is heading for a huge crash while at the same time they'll need to be planning how they are going to try and win back that favour and the build up to their new releases.

Yes financially they're winning but they're going to have to ride out this complete public corporate disaster. No one has faith in the company or the product anymore. They've damaged their public image so much this generation. Greed can kill anyone.

medman27d ago

Hulst is a disaster......

He would've done the same thing and fire Jim Ryan and Shuhei would be the villain. Why?
Because Elite creates the narrative and distraction for gamers, users and citizens.

Outside_ofthe_Box28d ago

More confirmation that Jim Ryan is the culprit for what has happened to Sony. Hulst needs to go too. What sucks is that a lot of the good top heads at Sony are no longer there. I wish that guys that were forced out prematurely by Dumbo Jimbo like Shuhei and Layden came back.

robtion27d ago

Yep. Yoshida was responsible for bringing one of the best games of this generation to playstation (Stellar Blade). He is an actual gamer and is in touch with what gamers want (creative, fun games, not GaaS and agenda pushing). He also seems like a genuinely nice guy if you watch some interviews. Of course they got rid of him.

darthv7228d ago

Makes you wonder if MS even thought about hiring him after Phil and Sarah were leaving. He certainly couldn't make their situation any worse.

Agent7527d ago

Microflop. After Windows XP and Xbox 360, it all went floppy.

S2Killinit27d ago

Floppy 😆
No pun intended

badz14928d ago

Yoshida for President! Jim Ryan was and always be a hack! Sony should get Shu back

Lightning7728d ago

All the gamer/consumer lead heads are gone across PS and Xbox. shuhei gone phil's gone (questionable) but gone. The future of gaming is somewhat uncertain across the board.
