I'm a beast at Sniping on all the Socom games. Quick sniping or regular sniping.

I started winning free for all matches in World at War with that sniper rifle that blows limbs off because I was practicing with it so much. I never was into snipping until World at War due to the excessive gore :)

We all know the best of the best are not snipers, they couldn't possibly be, they are cowards. More inclined to stab you the back then to face you man to man, They cower in the weeds and hide in the brush. Not to mention there couldnt be a more boring or moronic way to play an online game then to try and hide in a map that is known to, in some cases millions of players.

You want to see the king of Sniping? Try sniping in Unreal Tournament 3. If you can snipe in that game, THEN you are a sniping god. Trying to snipe anything on that game with accurate shots and the speed it's going is pretty damn hard.

I certainly did not say snipers were useless I merely pointed out there cowardice.Do try and stay on point throughout any continued discourse. As for your theory that every weapon has their advantages and disadvantages, there is some truth to that, every gun does have its pros and cons, just so happens all guns were not created equally, esecially in the video game world in which we base this thread on. I will take my m16a any day over any of the sniper guns in cod.

just did 74 kills to 15 deaths in pyrrhus, spot and mark makes it very easy, and you have to be cleaver to avoid the other snipers with spot and mark, nce to have a giant map to snipe across, unlike cod where you could kill anyone across the lengh of a map with a handgun, delta force more satisfying though

I once caught a sniper bullet with my bare hands and put it in my sniper rifle and killed 3 guys with one shot from the max distance possible in warhawk. I mean I was standing on a warhawk my friend was flying and we were almost off the edge of the map where we would start takeing dmg if we went backwords .1mm.

You guys make some good points about sniping.every soldier plays a role be it short range shotty/SMG stuff ,a thoughtful sniper guy covering your back long range (snipe for your team,not to preserve yourself) and or a do-it-all assualt rifle guy (like myself...Assault rifles are my always my weapon of choice,makes me feel all rambo-ish,lol...seriously though they are good all rounders)

Personally i enjoy killing snipers in fps. im a sneaky SOB myself. roll up behind em...watch em for a few secs and giggle....then a quick tap of the melee button. Or for added drama pull out a gold plated desert eagle and dump the whole clip in their gille suit covered behind.even better if you find em in pairs!

Sniping is such a cheap class in the COD games. If they actually made it difficult like actual sniping or like the One Shot, One Kill mission, not only would less people do it, but the people that are good at it would actually be GOOD at it.

The only time I get sniper kills is when I kill a sniper, pick up his gun and mess around with it. Then I get bored and return to my MP5.

I fully agree that snipers in COD are cowards. Very few actually go after objectives.

Sniping in Killzone 2 is fun... it really is! :D

I'm a good sniper, but certianly not the king.

i will admit i am generally a HORRIBLE sniper, i played COD4 for like 1.5 years and pretty much never sniped. the few times i tried it was just futile, got owned so hard.

but im getting better at it on KZ2, the invisibility with spot & mark and big maps really help :P

I don't like sniping. I mean, playing as a sniper. I prefer to be in the fray or tactically picking off enemies at mid to close range.

Sniping is an artform.Counter-sniping is especially fun and the "prey $ hunter" moment goes back and forth.Sometimes I have crushed countless squads with my sniping and I have also shifted the entire battle from the sniper's scope

and have to go around with an assault hoping you can kill a sniper. cowards? no... i find a spot, plant my claymores to protect myself, then go for kills or if i see a teammate of mine i can help i will gladly do so, from a distance with the minimum amount of bullets needed! not like assault whores who use up your whole clip trying to kill one guy and need the bandlier perk or frantically looking for a gun on the ground for more ammo... lmao at you guys, the way i see you running, then falling, dying! the only reason the majority of players know where snipers are are because of the kill cam. if games didn't have that your dumb a$$' would probably keep getting shot in the same place...
