Innovation in what... That touch screen? Thats only used really to be great in a small percentage of all games?

Like the Wii with its new Wiimote only really works in really, really few games really good? (Zelda, Mario, Metroid Prime and Madworld for example) but the majority is a pile of games that use it like crap?

Thats not called an innovation. Thats called a sales gimmick.

PS2 graphics on a handheld is innovation in the handheld sector alone. Never before there was such much power in ones hand. Touch screens/Wiimotes? Only gimmick stuff...

Better graphics is not an innovation. There is nothing original in better graphics, as handheld graphics have naturally evolved from year to year as is. Sony did make a bigger leap in that department than Nintendo did, but that is a leap that would have happened eventually.

Before the DS, the idea of creating a portable that revolved around a touch-screen was unheard of. Better graphics was a step that nobody talked about, why? Because it's going to happen anyway. It's nothing noteworthy.

That being said, I still enjoy playing my PSP occasionally. But I'd guess that I've played my DS at least 4x as much. That's because I've already played the games on my PSP before, only it was on a sofa and looking at at TV playing a PS2. Size Matters, Daxter, God of War: COO, and Portable Ops were mediocre in comparison to the different series they were spawned from. At least Patapon and Locoroco were entertaining.

It's so blatantly obvious you haven't played anything good on the DS/Wii, or (More likely) you refuse to accept that there are amazing games on both of Nintendo's current systems. If you think No More Heroes, Madworld, Trauma Center, Phantom Hourglass, Professor Layton, Meteos, World of Goo, Boom Blox, and GTA: Chinatown are all "gimmick stuff" then you need to grow up. And that's barely scratching the surface of my collection.

Dude, I own a Wii myself and I play Madworld and House of the Death: Overkill which are fun. But the Wii overall is a crappy system for what you pay for it period. Yes there are SOME good games. Sad thing is though that most of it are Mario's, Zelda's, clones on Nintendo's characters and a few other ones. Its just easy:

Wii - 45 games on or above 8 out of 10
PS3 - 96 games on or above
360 - 140 games on or above

Its that simple. Overall the Wii has a large pile of minigames/shiatgames.

Never in any of my posts did I say that PS3 or 360 had bad games. Go read the posts. The only thing I said (Or even implied) was that people say the Wii and DS's games are shovelware when that is definitely not the case, and I abhor it when people make these idiotic claims. I happen to own all 5 of the current generation consoles and handhelds, and love all of them. You've obviously never heard of "playing devil's advocate" either - do you really think I adore the new Nintendo? Did you even check my profile (the Gamercard specifically)? Hell, I liked the Gamecube era more than the Wii era, SMS was awesome as were Pikmin 1/2.

When did I say the DS was a "mind-blowing" innovation? All I said was the DS innovated more than the PSP (Which anyone with a brain could understand), and that no one had thought to make a touch-screen handheld as a gaming platform. I never used the term "mind-blowing" nor would I. I do think it is the superior platform, but I can understand if people like their PSP more.

Just about everyone in this world thinks their opinion is "absolute." Few people want to be proven wrong, why do you think I'm an exception to this rule?

P.S.: The GBA was the king of remakes. The only remakes I can think of on the DS are the Square-Enix remakes (Lets not forget that they put remakes of FF1, 2, and Tactics on PSP) and the Super Mario 64 remake. Also Fire Emblem didn't start on the GBA, it started on the NES.

I can admit yeah the DS did some that nobdy ever did before, but it doesnt matter if they did if the only games using that function is card games, and mario game. i mean yeah its innovation, but every game the ds does, can be done on the psp. EVERY GAME.

You can't do Phantom Hourglass on the PSP. You can't do Layton on the PSP. You can't do Chinatown Wars on the PSP. You can't do Metroid Prime Hunters on the PSP. You can't do Kirby Canvas Curse on the PSP. Etc. If they didn't have the touch-screen then they would not be the same game.

Of the PSP games you mentioned, the following can be easily argued as downgraded PS2/PS3 games:

That's 11/15. They are nothing more than either portable ports or essentially the same game, only portable. You can argue that for only a few of the DS's major games (Zelda, Metroid and maybe NSMB. Before anyone mentions Kirby, Canvas Curse was easily the best in the series).
