GamePro: Ninja Blade Review

GamePro writes:

"Since I first saw the trailer for Ninja Blade, I was immediately intrigued. The smooth, stylish cinematics and epic creatures alone were enough to make me squeal like a school girl. To my delight, the game was everything I was expecting and then some. With each level, I became more and more hooked on this epic, action filled slice of ninja pie."

They sure loved the game!

RememberThe3576242d ago

This game is getting some of the most mixed reviews I've seen in a long time.

Pootie Tang6242d ago

Yea I'm gonna have to rent this one, ppl seem to either love it or despise it lol. Very little middle ground here, but I thought it seemed OK from the demo so at least worth a rental

JokesOnYou6242d ago (Edited 6242d ago )

Nobody loves a good Ninja game more than me, but I have to take this Gamepro review with a grain of salt, Gamepro has given out alot of 5/5 perfect scores. I'm going to give this game a shot because while I thought some of the reviews/previews are waaaay too critical, this seems very high praise, hopefully I will be pleasently surprised but I doubt it will be worthy of a perfect score imo.

When the IGN and 1UP mediocre reviews were posted, the usual PS3 fanboy suspects made sure they were the first to put in their 2 cents because a 360 exclusive scored poorly. Where are they now? You know who you are.

I'm sure Ninja Blade is not a perfect game by any means, but that doesn't mean it's not worth playing. Would you rather play nothing (in this genre) than play a game that receives mixed reviews? Apparently, there are many "gamers" (and I use that term loosely) that would prefer to do just that.

I played this game it is a really good game, I give it 8 or 8.5,I think its better than NG2

IdleLeeSiuLung6242d ago

I don't know about the released game, but I tried demo of Ninja Blade and although decent is no where near NG2!

I don't see too many games topping Ninja Gaiden series in gameplay!!!

GiantEnemyCrab6243d ago

What I got to play I enjoyed, even if it did borrow just about every cliche from every Ninja game and brings little of it's own character.

I wouldn't say it was perfect however.

8/10

GiantEnemyCrab6242d ago

I'd give NG2 an 8.5 almost a 9 if it had a few less technical issues.

Ninja Blade has a much more stable framerate than NG2.

lloyd_wonder6242d ago

If you ever played God of War 1 and 2, you would realise how crap this game is- judging from the demo. It's basically a God of War clone with similar set pieces, unsatisfying combat, and horribly implemented QTE's. Don't be fooled

iHEARTboobs6243d ago

I can't believe this game is only a 6.6 on metacritic. Not that I base any game purchases on their meta score, I just thought this game would do better. Judging by the demo I like the style of the game, didn't like the QTE and the Spider boss was kinda lame. Might even skip over it in the bargain bin since Sigma 2 is coming out soon.

enjoi1876242d ago

i liked the demo.

i don't think its no 6.6 or 7 or 10/10 ....but a 8/8.5 is rational

Sekiro Is Not From Software’s Best Ninja Video Game

Ninja Blade is From Software’s best ninja game of all time, including Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. At least it’s the best version of a specific type of ninja game.

Well aren't you cool? Taking a game that was pretty much universally acclaimed and then saying that one that received mediocre to bad reviews across the board is better... There's always one "hipster" out there with a contrarian opinion.

I don’t remember much of it but wasn’t it a QTE heavy game like Asura’s Wrath and GOW3?

NecrumOddBoy2587d ago (Edited 2587d ago )

It was like the Xbox Ninja Gaiden with an insane amount of QTEs. Not bad but not innovative.

SamPao2587d ago

Asura's Wrath and GOW3s QTE usage are planets apart though :D

Youngindy212586d ago

Both of those games were good so....

5 Games You Didn't Know Were Made by the People Behind Dark Souls

The Adventures of Cookie and Cream (Or Kuri Kuri Mix as is known in PAL territories) is actually a pretty good game, and gets damn hard in the latter stages.

I'd love to see FromSoft make King's Field 5, or maybe another Armoured Core. I love the Souls games, but I don't want to see it milked for all its worth.

Duke193678d ago

Didn't they also make the 3D Dot Game Heroes (or something like that).

I actually enjoyed that a lot on PS3

eyoung253678d ago

They actually only handled publishing in Japan. It was developed by Silicon Studio.

eyoung253678d ago

I wanted to keep the entries to their own respective genres. Chromehounds and Armored Core are both mecha. I almost included it though.

DarXyde3678d ago

I came here to learn something new and left disappointed.

DarXyde3678d ago

...I'm saying I knew FromSoft had a hand in all of these games. I would know, I own/ed most of them.

WhyWai883678d ago

Armored Core series producer left From Software.
My guess is the company shifted all focus to Souls series... :(
RIP Armored Core....

eyoung253678d ago

I would love to see them come out with a new IP in the mecha genre. Armored Core was cool, but I think they have expanded their skills to make a more unique game.
