it's a rumor.BTW sony has announced like 20 PSP games for 09 .they are not gonna announce PSP 2 for another year or so imo.

this seems like a believable rumor, don't know about timing though. 2nd analogue stick = hard core games, touchscreen = casual games. If the psp2 has it then it'll surely be the best of both worlds. allow apps and a sdk for any developer, and it'll be unstoppable

iPhone Competition for PSP & DSi? I don't think so!
The iPhone is a gimick, something to occupy the 5 minutes until your train/bus arrives. It is in no way competition for the serious mobile games machines that the PSP and DSi are.

haha i love the 'is set to give the iphone a serious challenge' who buys an iphone for games?? i bought mine for music, movies etc while i'm on the train or whatever. I just can't picture any1 buying 1 for games lol where as surely if you want a portable gaming device you would consider the psp/ds - so surely this would be giving the ds a serious challenge?

If this is true then I will be so happy. I want a touchscreen psp with dual analog sticks so bad. It doesnt even have to have new specs. I would just love to have a better designed psp.

im down for a new psp,but not just another revision,unless it will have dual nubs,although the nubs arnt that great for fps at least its that instead of wot the controls are now.

watch,it will be a normal psp but revised with the slider screen and dual nubs with touch screen,so touch screen games then. im happy with the way the current psp games looks and apple can go on about how great the iphone is for games etc,but there hasnt been one game that makes me wonna buy a iphone for gaming,lets face it,ipone gaming is for the casual while i wait a minute for this chick to get ready etc lol.

funny thing is why are they releasing the good titles that we know about now,mabye it will be a new tech model? owell it better have 720p output lol

I won't purchase a PSP2 unless it has Bluetooth capabilities. Just imagine using your PSP2 as a secondary controller for your PS3. Even a bluetooth headset so you can listen to your music/movie without disturbing others.

I got all three consoles and both portable video games of this gen and after checking many list of games that will be coming this year all I can say is that Sony rules!

Unfortunetelly I don't see more then one or two uber game coming to each rival of PS3/PSP coming in 2009 but on the other hand I see more then fithteen for the PS3 and more then six great games comign to the PSP.

I just wonder what is going on with Nintendo and Msoft this year.... lack of cool exclusive games...

I higly doubt this will be out anytime soon, 2010 possibly, later on in the year.

The guy is talking about a rumored PSP2 concept made a while back. If you read the article, it says "the touchscreen is slid open as it reveals familiar buttons, D-pads and – praise the Lord of Handhelds – dual analogue controls." And the sources are exactly the same too: "having spoken to an insider source – who's not Dave Perry, but is a developer working on the new hardware" from the article is the same as: "David Perry, pay any attention to the World War II aphorism "Loose Lips Sink Ships"? He's been mouthing off about the PSP. He reckons it'll come out in the autumn:

"I spoke to a developer who is working on it right now, I know this developer is already working on it, so that means they have a prototype. That would sound like a fall release to me."" from the website of that picture.

I hope PSP2 means a lot more powerful computing/graphics power, not just the current power with another analog stick and a touch screen. It's been 4 years since the psp has been out, I'd hope we can get some much much better graphics by now.
Near 360 level graphics with these proposed/rumored features would actually make me consider getting a portable, I have an iphone but don't care for gaming on it.
