You know, we may have just started our new generation. But, there's always speculation. And, with the case of any speculation, come predictions. Let us divulge on some next-gen prognostications regarding the industry. As well as where we might be headed in the next five to six years (or ten, if you're Sony).
We'll follow a general "likelihood" scale to determine the chances of these events occurring. The choices are listed below from least to most likely:
-Fairly unlikely
-Moderately likely
-Definite possibility
-Indefinite

Square Enix launches Final Fantasy X 25th anniversary site, revealing new Nomura art, books, music releases, and merchandise.
Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.
They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

The Wii is now a retro console. Let’s get nostalgic about an often maligned system.
Crazy to think the WII is to the Switch 2, as the NES was to the WII back then. 20 Year difference.
My wife asks me to bust it out (heh) everyone once in a while to play bowling and tennis with the kids. There was a ton of slop on it but some good stuff as well.
Wii was great but boy howdy did it cause Microsoft to go on a dark walk with the Kinect and the disastrous XBox One launch that they arguably never recovered from.
Not nostalgic for me.. I was there.. anyone who wasnt a little kid realized it was a gamecube with shit tacked onto it, it was the "joke" system and was well below even the switch in terms of comparing it to the latest machines at the time. The machine was well loved by young people and "casual gamers" who now remember it 20 years on, or in most cases more of its sales came in the 15-20 years ago range not right at launch- but again its not nostalgic for people who were "gamers" then really, just for those who ended up with one in their house, the games , graphics, interface and online features were archaic already in 2006.

A brutal reset, a smarter story, and a return to what made it great—Mortal Kombat (2011) revived the series.
15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.
Out of all of their predictions, I see two possibilities:
MS will buy a major studio (Capcom, Mistwalker). There's a precedent for that.
FFXIII will be multi-platform. That's assuming, of course, that PS3 sales don't meet expectations. Otherwise, Sony keeps that particular exclusive.
The others range from "very unlikely" to "maybe" at best.
If Microsoft offers them a buyout plan that is worth a lot more than you can dream, and promises that capcom will make more than what they're currently making- then a buy is not hard to foresee.
Any company is capable of buying another- it's all about money, and how well you convince the other, smaller weaker company to succumb to your needs
10. THE WII FALL`S FLAT ON IT`S FACE.
9. MS DOES BUY A MAJOR DEVOLPMENT CO.
8. LITTLE BIG PLANET IS THE STARTS A NICELY NEEDED TREND.
7. bLU RAY WINS.
6. SONY GETS GTA BACK AS AN EXCLUSIVE.
5. FINAL FANTASY AND MGS STAY PUT.
4. NINTENDO PULLS OUT OF THIS RACE.
3. HOME MASSIVLY EXPANDS
2. MIRCOSOFT STAYS IN THE SAME POSISTION THEY WERE BEFORE.(2ND)
1. NINTENDO RELEASES A "NEXT GEN" SYSTEM WITH WII TECH. IN 5-7 YEARS
anego, you're a sad little boy.
my prediction:
in ten years, games will be so boring, the hole industry collapses and all the children can go play outside again. it has been going on for 5 years now, games getting easier and easier, they're all the same boring crap produced by people who have $old their soul to the devil.
it's a sad, sad world we live in.
i say drop all this nonsense, back to 16 bit.
Wow, it's great that people can see the future. No really why do some people think they're God and know what is going to happen without any facts whatsoever.
Please, just go in peace and live your life.
