If you played and love any of the games above then this game will be like crack to you. It’s very fun your mobility and freedom are unmatched unless you’re on a small confining map and find the map boundaries. Multiplayer gamers will love this game, if you prefer single player don’t buy this but if your like me and spend most of your gaming time online then it’s a must own. To me this game is pure multiplayer mayhem and 100% fun and addictive (it’s really a good game). .

ASSASSYN 36o6918d ago (Edited 6918d ago )

Last I checked 3 of those games had vehicles...are there any in shadowrun?

UrbanJabroni6918d ago

I've really been enjoying Shadowrun. It has a really fresh, strategic take on the FPS genre.

That said, the damn thing doesn't have a single player campaign...which will really bother me _unless_ the price is right (cough $40 or less).

JasonPC360PS3Wii6917d ago (Edited 6917d ago )

I see only small similarities and influences with the games I mentioned above but those are the ones that come to mind. 360 owners should feel right at home with the controls there comfortable and fluid. Vehicles in a game like this would be just useless considering you can move by foot, by air or even through things faster and you can use all three in combination (your choice) The customization of your skills are limitless and suits every need from run and gun, tactical, sniper or even Sam Fisher. Now I own Gears of War and I’m a big fan and this game IMO is equal to in quality but not “gameplay” (gameplay is different so dont come at me and say NO! NO! NO! its not like GOW.)

About the price issue I agree with UrbanJabroni above, unless they give us a whole lot of maps and complete customized gameplay options or something special, then the price could be a problem. Personally I don’t need single player and the games purpose is online but if the multiplayer is about the same as current multiplayer games then the price could be an issue unless you love the game. I hope the reviewers are fair with them about just being multiplayer because I would be disappointed if this game got anything lower then a 9 on gameplay alone.

As for abilities and weapons I don’t want to give to much away, so here are some links to some video on Shadowrun and there homepage (hint go to there forums for more info)
http://www.gametrailers.com...
http://media.xbox360.ign.co...
http://gamevideos.com/ (type in Shadowrun)
http://shadowrun.com/ to learn more about magic/tech/and weapons (so many choices).

One more thing there is a bit learning curve do to the many character options and abilities.

ryanjtravis6917d ago

This game's depth and quality gameplay are absolutely astonishing... I feel extremely privileged to be helping test this out, and I can't wait to get my hands on the full release.

Shadowrun's learning curve is STEEP - that is certain. But once you start getting comfortable with the abilities and controls, you're going to be in awe of this one :)

Yes! But don’t water it down or make it an MP competitive shooter. I’d love a Cyberpunk 2077 level Shadowrun game.

anast560d ago

This would be awesome, but let's see what they can do with Avowed first. I don't think the talent is there anymore to make a deep RPG.

OneLove560d ago

They just made the outer worlds👀

anast560d ago (Edited 560d ago )

Outer Worlds is extremely average.

TheNamelessOne560d ago

What do you mean? They still have the OGs like Josh Sawyer, Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarski as acting design leads on all of their projects. A lot of the veteran talent have remained at the studio.

anast560d ago

The faces can be there, it doesn't mean the talent is. I suppose we'll see.

TheNamelessOne558d ago (Edited 558d ago )

@anast

All the creative leads of classics like NeverwinterNights 2, Kotor 2, New Vegas, then to Pillars of Eternity 1 and 2; and modern games like Pentiment and Outerworlds; all very legitimate, deep RPGs; them being there, doing as they always have, means we need to question whether the "talent" is there to make deep RPGs. Definitely makes sense, as long as you don't think about it.

Shadowrun would be a nice game to get the series going again.

ShadowRun - An Xbox 360 Classic Left to Rot

ShadowRun arrived in 2007 and is still played by a core audience on modern consoles and PC today, despite a bungled launch.

coolbeans789d ago

Played it a few months back. Not a stellar mp game at its time, but still genuine & janky fun.

Sciurus_vulgaris789d ago

I have never played Shadowrun. However, the universe of Shadowrun seems like a good setting for various game genres. The franchise combines traditional fantasy tropes with cyberpunk science fiction.

Rebel_Scum789d ago

Yeah since the megadrive game I’ve always thought how cool the setting and premise is but the game never really delivers on gameplay.

ocelot07789d ago (Edited 789d ago )

Really enjoyed this back on 360. Was one of the first pc games I played as well. Nice to see it's still online I'm going to have to see about getting a copy on pc again.

Edit: is this backward compatible with series X?

Gcayton1788d ago

Fun game... just not Shadowrun.

porkChop788d ago

The Shadowrun RPGs from Harebrained Schemes were great, but that IP is just begging for a massive, Cyberpunk 2077-style game. Open world action RPG epic with a healthy dose of immersive sim goodness.

shinoff2183786d ago

That could turn out really good for real.

The 7 Best Xbox 360 Games - Console Exclusives Win the Day

The Xbox 360 was a fantastic console in its day with some truly classic titles, but what are the seven best games for the console?

DrDoomer816d ago

I'm pretty used to these lists being bad, but this one is particularly s#ite.

raWfodog816d ago

I think Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon should have been added to the list.

BrainSyphoned816d ago

I'll go with,
Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon, Culdcept Saga, Shadow Complex, Ace Combat 6 with the flight stick,A Kingdom for Keflings, A World of Keflings.
Bonus Kinect Games: Happy Action Theater and Sesame Street.
*Skyrim was so bad on PS3 that it almost deserves to be #1*

Husker42c816d ago

I really loved Shadow Complex.

P_Bomb816d ago

Ah yes, Shadow Complex! Good indies back in the day. Summer of Arcade. I enjoyed Trials Evolution as well.

ChasterMies816d ago (Edited 816d ago )

Was this made by a.i.? No human being would put Shadowrun, Fable III, and Splinter Cell: Conviction into a list of the 7 best Xbox 360 games.

Abnor_Mal816d ago (Edited 816d ago )

Would love to play Ace Combat6 on PlayStation, but Xbox decided to buy exclusivity and keep it off a competing platform.

The only mainline game I never played except for one level at a friends place. Game sold less than any other in the series if I remember correctly.

darthv72815d ago

360 had Namco hitters AC6 and RR6... both quality titles. You should at least bust out the 360 for AC6 if you can score the flight stick. Its great.

Hofstaderman816d ago

When the current gen XBOX offering is so lacking people need to refer to games released two generations back....

Profchaos815d ago (Edited 815d ago )

It's a nostalgia peice same reason we get thousands of YouTube videos on sega genisis. Something people have fond memories for but the era is long gone.

It's xboxs golden year imo it was their genisis years the time where they stuck it to the market leaders Sony.

BehindTheRows815d ago

They stuck nothing. Sony screwed themselves giving Xbox an opening. They would have gotten the usual smack down if the PS3 had launched at $399 and was easier to develop for.
