Most RPG's I play I put in around 100-150 hours. You know the developers have a great game on their hands when the players can stay immersed and interested for that long.

If I'm spending 50-60 on a game it better be 60+ hours solo play. FFXII I already have 150+ hours into the game and absolutely loving it.

Compare that to how many hours you might spend online playing a FPS (which I don't persoanlly like) which it probably evens out or becomes less...

Short solo campaigns are worthless and any game i can beat in a weekend and do everything I wanted to in the game then I wasted my money. I'm not a big online player except for mmorpgs with no pvp so I can actually enjoy a game instead of being killed every time I turn around when wanting to explore the area.. Some PVP is fine but only if its in good taste and not random killing for no reason except you were standing there.

Probably why you won't ever see me in a shooting game online in the first place. co-op missions online with a common NPC to take down would be fun to me.

Gran Turismo I can get 80+ hours out of easily. So it's not only RPGs that can do it.

hm ok. I guess you're right. I would like platformers to be much longer - like prince of persia cause I love it so. And Tomb raider can be quite long when it's good, but that's just about 20hours. I dunno. Games like this just make me think of wandering around for ages...which then turns into an obsession. I did get slightly obsessed with FFVII but ai couldnt finish it.
