All are part of the dark forces universe. But outcast had stepped away from the original darkforces enough to drop its name. Thats what were seeing here modern warfare is far removed from call of duty so dropping the cod title fits with its new role. Will it still be seen as family to cod series yes but as a cousin rather then blood.

I have to agree with you on that and the reason KILLZONE2 dont get the respect that COD4 get is because its only for tha PS3.

All I could really want is for them to improve their netcode, add host migration, add more custom classes, Trophies, and splitscreen. I don't see the core gameplay changing, because it WORKS.

The name change I feel will be JUST a name change, at least for now.

Infinity Ward should tell their story by letting you play from both sides of the conflict. In the real world, military versus terrorism isn't nearly as black and white as games portray it to be.

are iw afraid of big games like killzone2 and few others or do they have a surprise? the only thing i know this guys are lucky that have a big fan base and they dont give us the fan the love we deserve . im glad i have a ps3 and im in love whit killzone2.

Considering Rainbow 6 lost its way, I would welcome MW heading in the direction of team tactical. As burnt as I am on COD multi, I play it as much as I used to play RS Black Arrow and Vegas. If they would just implement a decent cover system I would be completely sold.

calm down.... Modern Warfare will be cool. it will be more of Cod: Modern Warfare. I don't mind. and Killzone 2 won't be going anywhere.

Hardly a new direction i think we ll find the same adrenaline pumping action that we saw in the first modern warfare. My personal opinion is that IW didn't want to be associated to CoD:W@W which in my opinion was embarrassingly bad compared to CoD4. I've also seen from what other have thought that they changed the title because they can copyright "modern warfare" therefore Treyarch (when they don't make a dumb@ss decision to go back to WW2 again) can't use the modern warfare title.

Name Change:
Something tells me it was for IW to get away from treyarch. IW deserve better than to be sharing cod with them.

Stealth: I think stealth in campaign could be good, but NOT online, I think, and hope they will keep it the same style of gameplay.

.....and thought KZ2 wouldnt be brought into it and then BAM, people still sucking the nad sack of KZ2. Look, it was a decent game but come on, the ONLY thing it had over COD4 was graphics and that was it. The single player sucked, the voice acting was marginal at best, the dialogue made Gears2 look like Shakespear (i mean the one dude who seemed to try to be the games version of cole was always spouting nothing but F this and F that and eFin every effin other effin word effin was effin F this effin F that).

As far as graphics, if it looks like COD4 or WAW ill be ok with that because as we all know graphics are not everything. Also, MW2 has been workid on for about 2 years and KZ2 was in development for what, 4 years or so? I would love to see IW work on a COD game for 4 years and see what they can churn out but, seeinig that they can produce an awesome looking game with great gameplay and an awesome online in only 2 years that is better in every way (except graphically) than KZ2 should say something for IW.

Anyway, its a FPS game by IW and not Treyarch and it is based in modern day and not WW2 SO, they could call it FLUFFY BUNNIES FROM THE PLANET FLUFF for all I care and it would still rock you like a hurricane.

I respect your opinion, but the only way COD4 is better is SP storyline.

In my opinion, after playing Killzone COD4 was shown to having terrible gameplay, which everyone accepted at the time. It was floaty, and too easy, my 9 year old cousin was coming 2nd to 3rd in games.

To win in Killzone (when assault is turned off) you actually require something called skill.

Other than Nazi zombies COD5 was bad on the,on the PC I beat the single player campaighn in less then four hours COD6 better be at meat 15 hours of gameplay and hopfully zombies.

Seriously, yes I'm a hardcore Killzone fan, but before that I was a hardcore COD4 fan for almost a year.

Killzone is IN MY OPINION the better game, the controls may lag, but I don't give a damn, it looks, feels and plays great, and has fantastic clan support.

You can play Call of Duty if you like I don't care, I just believe that if IW took a few things from Killzones book, the game would be much better.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.
