Perhaps partly due to the fear it engendered, a ferocious nuclear conflict ensued. The Earth was devastated, its population pushed to the verge of extinction. Amid the massive death and destruction, few areas remained fit for human habitation. Even there however, what now passes for civilization reflects the radically changed environment. Resources are extremely scarce, so the competition for them is savage. Life is a constant, daily struggle to obtain enough just to survive.

October might be the end to the warm weather but it’s the beginning of a wonderful season. The leaves are transforming from greens to bright orange and reds, reminding us that change can be absolutely beautiful.
