It's a great system, I buy Games, give them to my friends and vice versa and yes this is by far the best unspoken feature of PSN and probably the best including PC platform.

Its true, I've been doing this ever since i got my PS3.(Burnout Paradise, Street fighter 2 HD Remix, PJ Eden, and PJ Monsters)

All you got to do is just send the person you want to share the game with, your Login info and have him login into your account and download the games,DLC,themes,or music that you have bought. And if your afraid if they might spend your PSN wallet you can set a password for it.

because you cant give any of your buddies games anymore, because it blocks the content unless your on that account, so if you get your friends account, download the games, and delete the account they will not work.

cause theyre an awesome company and they know me and my cousin are awesome to each other. :D

It's no different than if a friend lent you a game... come to think of it, I still have MGS4 on lend from a friend (heh, I really should get to beating it, haven't even gotten through act 2) except they get to limit the amount of times it gets shared, though to be honest, I don't think one disc would spread farther than 5 people so they are being quite lenient.

Pretty much my favorite feature of psn. Me and a few online buddies of mines have a sharing account. It's pretty cool, it saves all of us money while being able to play the latest (good) psn games. Win/Win for everyone.

it's the same reason why you can install linux without a modchip.

it's the same reason why you can easily upgrade your internal ps3 HDD.

it's the same reason PSN is free.

unfortunately, these are some of the few good ideas that MS will never steal :)

I love this feature. Me and my buds have been doing this forever. I thought everybody knew about this little gem. I have all the good games. YES BURNOUT WORKS ( thanks bountynomad). I think the only two that don't work are prologue and warhawk understandably. Thanks Sony. Now someone go out and buy everyday shooter and share that badboy because it's AMAZING.

for the high price of the console. This is why PSN is free. This is why the harddrive is off the shelf. This is why linux can be installed. This is why home is free.

You can always tell a friend to deactivate your account on his PS3, this frees up an activation slot. So basically you can activate your games on any number of systems provided only 5 activations are kept simultaneously. This is also very nice of Sony.

It's a good feature, but I still find such 'freedom' of sharing a bit odd (not that I'm complaining!!).

What I generally do is log in with my account on a friends PS3 to download the games, and then change the password afterwards. I trust my buddies, but I'd rather control who I'm sharing games with, and who can log in to my account.

It would be nice if there was a feature that allowed the person who purchased the game to remotely deauthorise shared copies.

This gen hasn't been the best for games, last gen consoles are still out there and now there's been talk of the PS6 and Xbox Two for a year or so. Many games this gen will be ported to next gen and the cycle will continue. The re-release of the Neo Geo AES+, games on cartridge for £70 ($95), gaming is going back in time. Gaming has gone pricing mad with the high cost of games, consoles and controllers. The men and women at the top are clueless.

It’s always interesting to hear behind-the-scenes stories like this, especially involving veterans like Shuhei Yoshida and leadership figures like Jim Ryan. That said, there are usually multiple sides to decisions at that level. It could be less about not “listening” and more about differences in long-term vision for PlayStation. Yoshida played a huge role in shaping the brand, so whatever the reason, his impact is undeniable.

If true, and I'm inclined to believe it is, it goes to show that Sony lost their way when they became more western/didn't respect the PlayStation origin story. Andrew House and Jack Tretton did great work, but they also didn't try to fundamentally change the PlayStation DNA. Ryan oversaw the death of Japan Studio and a live service direction.

I miss the first three generations of PlayStation. The way they turned PS3 around, we knew they meant business. We were all worried for a bit there around launch. Eventually from 2008 they started shifting slowly. But since Yoshida was fired, it's never been the same. Still enjoy my PS5 daily. I got a backlog dating back to PS2 lol So I'm fine but new games aren't as appealing anymore.

It seems like we were thrown on to the worst timeline possible where everything is too expensive and the wrong people were put in positions that makes the world a shitty place. We could have had Shu as the head of PS but we got the shitty alternative. Same goes for everyone in power around the world. Doesn’t matter the company or country the majority of us got the shitty picks and the world is declining like never before. I do think PS can come out of this because of their studios, talent and IP but they need someone more in touch with gamers leading things like Shu was. They’re still the best place for console gaming imo but it could be much better than it is especially without the massive live service failures. The rest of the world I have a lot less hope for right now. Hopefully the pendulum swings back towards the good ole days but I’m preparing for the worst.

There's another guy who recently "retired" as CEO of another large gaming company, after doing a dismantling job as lead for well over a decade.

seems legit, the business man, fires the one who has ideas to move the business forward.

Jim Ryan is the reason why we are entering year 6 since the PS5 launch and many of us don't feel like the PS5 has gotten started as yet.

I hope going forward, we will see a return to form.
