big guns today. remember gamespot is doing a live video special tonight at 7pm pst. They won't say who; but Iwata already has his keynote scheduled for tomorrow, and sony pretty much have put enough of their hand out to wait and see what msft does. the ball is really in msft court at this time.

OnLive is a pretty huge announcement if you ask me.. far more than just a game, it's a whole new world of technological advancements

but now i want to see some more games... where's ICO?

Since when is DLC considered to be a "big Announcement"? Statements like that should be reserved for new IP's or of unannounced games...anyways, just my opinion.

I want some killer announcements from each end of the tri-gaming-spectrum. Give us some new IP's! Give us some sequels we know will be good! Please don't just announce some "once exclusive, now multi-plat" crap.. we need some fresh games to get excited for; on each end.

Is MGS 4 for the 360. It's not like MS is secretly working in house on top level AAA titles...so that leaves them to buy something.

What better to buy than MGS 4 from Konami. Kojima may not be involved directly, but my bet is it will happen.

How was Gears 2 a big announcement, everybody knew it was coming.

onlive will kill M$ 360. Sony will not be effected by onlive because the ps3 has a blueray player built into their game console. this is some of my predictions!!! lol

Come on!!! Gimme something good to talk about. GOW III footage, Uncharted 2 footage, Alan Wake, announce perfect dark, killer instinct and some cool jungle game using cryENGINE 3. I dunna I wanna go back to the first year of this site, where every story was awesome because EVERY story was about a game not sales, malfunctions, comparisons and rants.

And as big as you could get.

My only problem is that I'd worry if the current Rare people were making the game. Not saying that they aren't capable. Its just that its not like they've been spending decades making fighting games.

Maybe if Microsoft payed a third party with fighting game experience to make it, then I'd feel more comfortable.

If I had to to choose between KI3 being a letdown, or just no KI3 at all, I'd rather the game stay in limbo than to tarnish its potential.

Edit to below: I see what you're saying. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt at least, as long as they don't try to do anything drastic. If they want to a little something different but take more of a Street Fighter 4 approach, then I can live with that. But if they try to make it some spinoff sidescrolling fighter or something then I give up. We'll see how, or if, things go.

Even with this news, my anticipation for any big announcements will be VERY low. GDC really isn't the place for a bunch of big game announcements, but I'll take it with a grain of salt.

Just because there might be some Gears of War 2 announcements doesn't mean there's a whole bunch of other huge announcments lined up. I think people are taking what Geoff Keighley said out of context and are hyping it up more than it should be.

I expect new info and details on games that we already know of from GDC, but I'm not expecting a bunch of news on brand new newly announced games because that's what E3 is for.

So please stop with the Announcements of Announcements.

just want something bright shiny and new from MS as rught now Sony are holding up their end of the bargain with some great looking games for my PS3. I don't want my 360 to get lonely do I? Of course I don't but as I prefer the dualshock to the 360 controller(why I think most people choose a console of preference is controller based)I always buy multiplats for PS3 -DLC or not. Therefore I've zero interest in FF13 DLC exclusives for 360 or KH3 going there.

No-just games please MS. We all know they show their hand later than Sony but ny all accounts even Sony haven't shown everything they've got and from what we already know of the first and second party devs they have we can believe this. So that leaves us with MS themselves or Rare or prolly Valve to give out something juicy for 360 gamers and with Sony having a pretty impressive number of exclusives already chalked out maybe MS can let us into some secrets.

As for Nintendo I'm only really hoping for Kid Icarus or at least a Zelda announcement that gives us hope of something beyond GC remakes, S&P2(which will be a cool game mind)and Punchout!! this year from them.

All I know is that they had better announce a new game and not a port of some other console's exclusive. If that is thier biggest news it will just confirm that the 360 is nothing more than a bootleg PS3. I don't know about you all but I did not buy a 360 for it to be a bootleg PS3. If they do announce MGS4 (A miracle if it happens.) I will laugh hysterically because it won't mean a thing except that Microsoft cannot come up with thier own games.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.
