Warhawk in Spaaaaaace

Kotaku writes:
Informed sources tell Kotaku that newly minted LightBox Interactive Studio, made up of members of Incognito, are hard at work on a new take on Warhawk.

The game, described as Warhawk in space, has been in development for some time, we're told.

Reached for comment this morning, Dylan Jobe, president of LightBox Interactive Studio, had this to say:

"We're incredibly happy to continue working with Sony Computer Entertainment America and World Wide Studios. We've got a great relationship with them and I'm really proud of our new partnership. With regard to the inevitable "What are you guys working on?"... It's way too early to comment on anything but I can say that we have some really exciting stuff in development that our Warhawk fans *and* new players will love."

There's some jealous little turd going around in this comment section giving phantom disagrees to everybody looking forward it.

Anyway, the PS3's lineup just continues to get more and more unbelievable. He formed a new studio and like Insomniac, they will only develop PS3 exclusives. :)

NO WAY! AWESOME! AND YES, I'M SHOUTING!

I got a PS3 too late when MGS4 came out and was not sure if people would still be playing it. I also, Hate that PSN people hardly have mics. I like talking and strategizing with my team when needed.

lolol1236143d ago

Indeed! I love Warhawk and I love space! This will be perfect! I'm very excited.

Doppy6143d ago

I swear I thought of this when the game first came out. I thought it would be cool to have a space station level and if you left the inside of the space station without a Warhawk then you would die like in the damage zone. Hopefully it's a full game, but more DLC would be nice too.

Dragun6196143d ago

Warhawks in Space would be badass. Since they got the Multiplayer down hope they can bring in some single player stuff or like co-op campaign.

ThanatosDMC6143d ago

What will happen with infantry and land vehicles?! I guess, we'll see when it comes.

BkaY6143d ago

Knows how good this is gonna be !

Sheddi6143d ago

I fully agree! I would LOOOOVE Warhawk in space!

Fencefry6143d ago

NO jetpacks in space is what I'm talking about. Just floating along shooting unrealistically, pushing off with a fire exstinguisher once n awhile.

Bazookajoe_836143d ago

A mix between warhawk and starwars battlefront.

MiloGarret6143d ago

Yes, but without the battlefront, please?

This sounds awesome, warhawk, space, awesome.

DeforMAKulizer6143d ago

HOLY HELL!!!!!!!!!
Count me already uberly excited!

jack_burt0n6143d ago

Wondered what they were gonna do with colony wars :P this will be great.

ChozenWoan6143d ago

Colony Wars is one of my top fav space flight shooters, and the PS3 has been missing this genre of games for some time (second only to Freespace). Looks like I'll get my space legs back sooner rather than later. YeA!!!

PS3 got a bad rap because of the price. I bought it day one (I was very lucky). A Blu-ray player was more expensive than the PS3 at the time around 800$+

badz14914d ago

And that was for a standalone player with no internet connectivity. A network enable BD players like the PS3 was, were around $1000 at the time

Mr Logic14d ago

That's true, but it gets worse. I remember seeing independent analysis from CNET or something like that. They concluded that PS3 was not only the cheapest, but also had the best video quality of any BD player.

DivineHand12514d ago

Good to see there is an improvement despite the challenges plaguing this generation.

At the end of year 5, the ps3 received a pricecut making the 160GB model $250 and the 320G GB model $300.

I miss those days when there was not so much demand for microchips and the prices of things generally came down.

Now everything seems to be a smart device with very few companies to supply the needed chips.

Why compare to the PS3? The machine was a total abortion.

Comparing to 4 would be best being it’s the previous generation and was hugely successful.

NotoriousWhiz13d ago

There is a ps5 to ps4 comparison. The PS4 currently has a narrow lead.

Lulz_Boat13d ago

you are right, that's why it outsold 360

anast12d ago

Because it's being compared to everything...This is how this game writing goes...

gold_drake13d ago (Edited 13d ago )

we should also not forget what shitstorm the ps3 got cause of the price bk then

it was still a phenomenal console

Ninver13d ago

Western media did everything in their power to destroy the ps3. They shiited on its price and made fun of the CELL (I'm surprised there wasn't more dbz memes) calling it alien hardware. Still it gave us games like Uncharted 2 and TLOU.
