Welcome to the console wars. Both companies talk smack at each other. This is the perfect opportunity for Microsoft to trash the PS3 and KZ2.

Aaron Greenberg loves to take shots at Sony, he's been doing it time and time again,so it didn't surprise me that he decided to do so this time.

Yeah, M$ has the right to say what they want, but when the tables were turned this time last year and the PS3 was outselling the 360 in the U.S., Sony definantly had more dignity and respect for their competition because I don't recall anyone at Sony bashing the 360 when the PS3 was outselling it this time last year.

And then when Greenberg mentioned declining PS2 sales year over year ( a system that has been out for 9 years) just to make himself feel better, it was just totally unnecessary. If he "tried" to diss the PS2... well, he totally FAILED. Regardless of how you spin it, there's no way you can diss a system like the PS2 that had one of the largest game library's and one of the best selling and one of the most successful systems of all time.

Since Microsoft hasn't had too many new games to talk about lately, I guess I'm not surprised they have nothing better to do than take cheapshots.

It's pretty pathetic that Aaron Greenberg seems to focus more on Sony's videogame business than Microsofts videogame business,I remember when Chris Paladino was still employed at Microsoft he wasn't as idiotic as Greenberg when it came to interviews.

Microsoft will say and do anything they can to hurt the competition. The reason a lot of developers were wary of Microsoft moving into the console business is because they were notorious for this behavior in other markets. Most of this smack-talking didn't exist before their arrival. Even "software attach ratio" was an unknown term before they came, mainly because it actually tracks hardware performance and is very confusing at face value.

When you look at both Xbox 360 and PS3, both are doing better than they did in 2008, which itself was an improvement over 2007. This simply means that consumers are steadily moving into the next generation. It doesn't mean "PS2 is losing customers to Xbox" or "Wii is losing customers to PSP." That's what Microsoft likes to show it as, but we all know that owning multiple consoles is the norm, not the exception.

Sure my DS is far weaker than my PSP, but I have never seen Sony nor Nintendo debate over the power difference between the two handhelds, mainly because they show respect. I love both, and that's all that matters. Sometimes one will take a backseat to the other; it's not a big deal, and depends on what software is out.

But Microsoft has spent the past 4 years touting that 360 is more powerful than PS3, that PS3 wasn't built to play games, that it's not a good Blu-ray player, that it's too hard to program, blah, blah, blah. If I ever see an Xbox 360 Press Release that doesn't take a stab at Sony, I'll be very impressed, and hopeful that all future statements from Microsoft would be that mature.

If they haven't even scathed the PS1, in quality of games STFU, for the love of all that is Holy. Only dip$h!ts, say a company that holds on to less than a handfull of decent games, is good cause they sold X amount of copies.

You bring a fair comment regarding supporting the gaming industry and being a gamer but you forget a vital piece of information. People choose to have a fanboy view due to their opinions and what they feel value for money. You cannot say in regards to multiplats that one is better than the other as imo they both look similar. What separates them is th exclusives and at the present moment in time Sony appear to have more. To me value for money is free Online Play having wireless connection as standard and the awesome blu-ray player. This suits me, this is not say the 360 doesnt offer anything but it's just that to me Microsoft will always charge if it thinks it can generate more money. The PC gaming market has always had free online play so why do they need to feel to charge. I will not give my money to a company that blatantly wants to rip you off. If you play Call of Duty for an example the onlne experience for the Ps3 and 360 is no different so why pay????

Just the simple fact that this game had a lot of pressure and weight on it.
When you look at Killzone2, you are looking at a game that has been developed for a long time and has been delayed many times. This is the game that most PS3 fanboys claim "Killzowned". I do not want to argue with subjective thoughts, But if you look around....How many people do you see in N4G with a KZ2 avatar?... Enough people. This game has also received numerous recognition through Game previews and even PSN. The reviews on Metacritic are high with a lot of positive feedback.

...I was in a GameStop yesterday, talking to one of the associates there and he made a comment to which I instantly went on the defensive. I couldn't help it, not sure what the deal was and all he said was something about Killzone 2 sucked, etc. Not that it mattered to me in the end because I love the game, but what surprised me is after my rant about 360 this, 360 that...and his about how Halo was so much better than Killzone 2 (it IS his opinion and I can't take that away), I cooled down.

Owning an Xbox 360 I had but one question for him and it wasn't with the intent that most might think... "Okay, I own an Xbox 360...sell me on why I have one and WHY I should be excited for 2009 without mentioning ODST (Halo is not my thing)."

I asked him why he wasn't answering me and he initially stated "...it's because you're so set in your belief that there isn't anything on the 360!" I, again, assured him I'm only asking as a customer who wants to know what's coming...what I should be excited for. He looked at me with a blank expression on his face and said "I really can't...I don't know...", and he proceeded to walk into the backroom and I can only assume he didn't come out until I left.

It took me talking to the assistant manager to actually get a list of titles they had available to reserve and a comment "It's not looking too good. If Mass Effect 2 goes multi-platform and you're not a Halo fan, there isn't much you can't get on the PlayStation 3 in 2009."

Hmmm, an honest response it seems. Fanboy mentality be damned, good games come out on all platforms...but if you struggle to cite sales points moving forward, no amount of trash talking is going to hide the apparent inadequacies of 2009.

Personally, I think its funny and it must have struck a chord to make so many insecure people react to passionately about a Japanese Company. They are both big corporates and both want to take your money and make a profit. As such there will always be marketing and spin to generate PR and confidence in their product. Contrary to some opinions on this Site Sony has slagged off the Xbox and the MS strategy on numerous occasions in the past. Get over it you sad pathetic losers. Also, retailers who want to make money support the machines that sell most software, shift most units and generates the most reveunue / profit.

honestly, i really don't see why anyone becomes a fanboy of anything. i play 360 only because i play online shooters and kz2 has been no where to be found for 5 years. i love ps3 too. but i own a 360. i don't jump in Microsoft's boat every time they update something, i just like certain games. And lets be honest, this entire site is PS3 oriented. Not saying thats a bad thing, just saying fanboys should be warned theyre jumping into a bucket full of flames.

I was on the bus a month or two back and I overheard two guys talking about games. One guy said: "I'm thinking of getting a PS3 for christmas!". The other guy agreed and said that it was cool. Then out of nowhere the guy in front of them blurted out: "Don't buy a PS3. they suck, get an X-Box. Those were his words exactly. I think he must've confused the guy who was thinking about purchasing a PS3 because he said: "Really?". This made me wonder about why everyone is hating on the PS3. Maybe because it came out well after the 360 and everyone had a 360 already. So newly interested gamers are being advised to steer clear of the PS3 because it sucks and no one has it? It's obsured. I, myself have a PS3 but if I could I'd buy a X-box. I don't have anything against either one, and I think Microsoft should just go about their business instead of posting propaganda and saying: "Look out it's a PS3 come into the nice and cozy X-box homes.

Sorry according to nexgenwars X360 has sold 28 million and has a lead of only 6.6 million over PS3 which is around 21.4 million. Wii is only on 45 million not 48 million as reported on VGChartz.

Like I have said many times before I don't care about sales much. What matters is quality games, and it's crystal clear the MS doesn't have much of that.
