We've recently seen a revolution in the gaming industry whereby the industry is attempting to satisfy the gamer's latest urge: hyper realistic graphics. In recent years, gamers have adopted the belief that the worth of a video game relies heavily on its visuals. But have we got to the stage where graphics can be the difference between a good game and a great game? Graphics play a part in any game, but just how important is the part that they play?

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Thanks to the slip-up of an artist working on the title, we now have more evidence that a new Injustice game is in the works.

We're sorry that it's come to this and would like to thank each and every one of you for your support over the years.
If you have any questions or run into issues with your games, please contact Nacon directly as we'll no longer be able to reply."

Totaly agreed.
believe it or not, but graphics is what helps the gameplay to develop. It allows the developers to implement new ideas by doing things that were previously not possible. just look at the way games have evolved since the NES days to now. It wouldn't be possible without constant improvements in graphics.
Graphics now exist to help you be immersed in the game. If the gameplay, sound, story and whatever else are good, but the graphics suck, it loses that immersion factor.
A lot of people do try to dismiss graphics and, although it's never as important as gameplay, there's a reason we're not still playing Atari-esque games.
Graphics are definitley important, but developers definitely shouldn't focus on them so much that other qualities of a game take a hit. It's important to balance everything properly.
Today graphics are important. Earlier they just weren't. It's not like I wanted SMB 3 in HD...
