i'd have to say - let the big N have their moment. after the last 2 loser consoles they put out, they deserve some success as far as consoles go.
i did think the nazi comparison was a little over the top.

Sure it sold a lot out the gate but that has nothing to do with it. People fail to realize this. This is what Sony knows and does so well and other companies fail.

You can not make a console for here and now it must last. So while the Ps3 may have been expensive at launch it was built to last a long time. We are now seeing that with everything. HDMI, Hard Drives, Blu Ray, Wifi, all things M$ said werent needed. Maybe they werent when Microsoft launched but they fail to see the future.

Now what is Nintendo to do? They havent even gotten into HD as of yet. They have no console that supports HD. Do they really plan on carrying the Wii mote over to another console? Nintendo has really no games. Mario but honestly that franchise has run its course. They had hardcore gamers for games like Zelda but people like me just bought it for my gamecube..

So WTF is Nintendo to do now? Release more bowling games... lol...

Yes Wii sucks donkey balls for gamers most this gen, as the Gamecube already was last gen also.

But just recently a few, read a FEW good games are popping up.

House of the Death: Overkill - just the good old arcadehall shooter fun, even with 2 guns/2 players.

But for the rest its Mario/Zelda/the known stuff and a large pile of shiartware.

For real gamers, 360 or even PS3 is a better choice.

I totaly agree with this I grew up with Nintendo and i absolutly loved them and the metroid series since 1994 and have unforgetable memorys with my Snes and N64 with my childhood friends but now ? NO! Nintendo have completly shatterd my hopes of a great Zleda or Metroid game i absolutly HATE Nintendo this new aproach to gaming by them is just a total joke, fair enough the money is rolling in but they have just back stabbed all of their fans and left them to bleed to death. If he wants to be annoyed at Wii's lack of potential being reached (Which I do agree, there is much potential being missed on the console atm) I think the critique lies with third parties who written off the Wii and thought it'd be in the position the PS3 is now. Which is understandable early on, but it is obvious now that the Wii is the current gen market leader and will stay as such.

Thing is, however, that third parties will jump on board, a 50million base is hard to ignore. It really is like leaving money on the table. I won't even attempt to acknowledge the moronic analogy this fool uses.

They did announce Mario and Zelda titles in the works. Do you honestly think these titles grow on trees? These titles take time too make, and if you really were a Nintendo fan, you would know this better than anyone.

The very fact that Nintendo gave you all those core games within the first year in a half is nothing short of a miracle.

the wii does suck, i like the virtual console but even that doesn't get updated with many of the games that i want. The author is right in saying that there is tons of potential but Nintendo really has abandoned its core fan base.

Why did you even bother buying the Wii in the first place? Being the hardcore gamer that you are you should have been informed enough to know that third parties ditched Nintendo the last 2 generations so what makes you think it would be any different this generation. Sure, after 1 year and a half third parties finally accepted the Wii is leading console this gen but how long does it take to make high quality titles? Moreover, Nintendo rarely makes games that caters to the 12 - 25 male demographic. They mostly games for the whole family. That has always been their philosophy, they haven't changed much from the previous generations. Lastly, it's called a Wii for crying out loud. Haven't you seen the commercials with mom and dad playing it with their big koolaid smiles?

And you expected the Wii to be teeming with violent titles and first rate third party titles at this point in its lifecycle? Stupid.

Pure TRASH. And why did you pay full price, knowing how Nintendo releases games for the two previous gens? Nintendo just will release more games when they're ready.

Thank god someone said it!! I'm so annoyed by the Wii! Even if my name is PS360WIIrocks, I can't change it now. I bought a Wii, got mario kart, Wii sports and Resident Evil. Wii sports was fun for 4 minutes, mario kart was cool but I'm not 12 anymore and Resident Evil was fun but down right annoying to play motion style. I sold it and bought an arcade 360 for my computer room. Nintendo just flat out sucks now. Nothing new, nothing innovative, everyone says Microsoft milks Halo? Pshh Nintendo milks the same what 4 franchises over and over in different genres! Sad thing is both sisters just bought the Wii, and my fiancee wants it again so it can collect dust! Not this time Nintendo, I'm not lining your pockets with gold for a system that is as exciting as throwing rocks.

I know firsthand, all i had for the longest was just a wii. You can link all day long to metacritic showing how high the 1st party game score, but the number of games worth playing compared to what is on the 360 or ps3 is a shame for gamers.

I also love how people compare ONE consoles library to TWO consoles library as if they are making some sort of point. The only thing that points out is how dominant Nintendo has been this generation.

nintendo makes kidish games, as far as i can tell, most of the shovelware is coming for 3rd parties so blame them, not nintendo, besides its getting better, there some games on the way that should appeal to "hardcore" gamers. theres TVC, madworld, klonoa, a new Guilty gear game, the conduct, and a few others too, and plus nintendo and friends should also be getting some new games too.(zelda, kirby, mario) i just want quality games. whether they'd be hardcore or not.

a ps3 and 360 during the summer last year love them! good games come out every month the Wii had long drought periods between AAAs but still was entertaining )

Putting one's complete trust in something as monolithic and impersonal as a company in general strikes me as a rather unproductive way of going about things -- it almost inevitably leads to heartbreak, angry posts on the internet, and innocent bunnies being boiled in pots.

nintendo has been porting games from past gen systems. nintendo has been remaking past gen games that have nothing new in them. Nintendo arent makeing sequals to the right franchises that people actually want. we want kirby,donkey kong country, zelda and not the gamecube port. we want kid icaruas, mario rpg not the fake rpg mario game they released on the wii. we want earthbound and tons of otheres. not only are they releasing sequals to classic games no one cares about but those sequals are the same as the gamecube versions. I mean fire emblem... Nintendo is makeing a crap ton of money but the speed in witch they release games we want is unbelivably slow which doesnt make since. More money should equal gettting things done faster. Not only this but they still useing last gen graphics and equipment there is really no excuses. On vc the games cost way to much. anybody can get those games for free but nintendo wants to charge 8 bucks for a digital download of a snes/nes game thats not even worth that as a hardcopy. The ds is way better then the wii and that is pretty sad that a handheld can crush a console in every aspect. To say that nintedno is doing what they have always done is a straight up lie. look at nintendos nes/snes/n64/gamecubes games and compare them to there wii sequals. The wii sequals look kiddyer then ever. mario galaxy is on a whole othere lvl of kiddyness compared to past mario games with exception of yoshi island. since when did the old nintendo go to a big game event and announce wii fit and othere casual titles without saying anything about core games?
I think its time for people to stop defending nintendo because they dont need to be defended or backed up because they are makeing tons of money so just stop with all that stuff right now. nintendo is a big kid and deserves a media beating just like every othere console. Thats the only way they can hear gamers.

ps: the wii and pc combo doesnt give you 90%. maybe the pc makes up for the x360 games as all x360 games are on pc and multiplat titles but sony the company that makes true next gen console games with innovative new ips and classic titles have there games 100% exclusive on the ps3. Sony and nintendo are the only consoles that can actually seperate themselves from pc as far as games go. those are true consoles. the x360 is a donwgraded pc clone.
