Earlier we brought you news of the new online mode for Resident Evil 5 called Versus mode.
Initially the publisher announced that Versus would be available on the PlayStation Network for $3.99. Capcom has since sent out a press release correcting the PSN pricing on the post-release downloadable content for the game. It will now cost you $4.99.
Resident Evil 5 is available tomorrow for the Xbox 360 and PS3.
Circana data shows Resident Evil 5 as the best selling Resident Evil game in the US, ahead of Resident Evil 4 remake and Village.

New leaks from Dusk Golem detail cancelled Resident Evil projects, including a Rebecca focused Revelations game, while stating no Resident Evil 5 remake is in development.
Capcom's willingness to invest in experiments and scrap them sets them apart form many other developers (Nintendo have a similar methodology). Far too often companies push a game setting or game mechanic that is just not that good and the final product is middling or poor.
Dusk Golem claims a Resident Evil 5 remake is not coming this year, with a Code Veronica remake expected instead.
Dude Code Veronica is bad too but RE5 and 6 were mega successful and to me it makes much more sense for Capcom to do them instead. Nobody cares about Code Veronica except niche fixed camera era RE fans, i bet most modern RE fans probably don't know Code Veronica even exists. Based on all that i don't believe CV remake is coming but we will see i guess.
Actually RE5-6 was not Classic RE game.. They are not even Survival Horror game.. They are just an action game with coop and named by RE... And for me RE Code Veronica was masterpiece.. I remembered the first time i played it in Dreamcast.. It was absouletly excellent game. And specially for RE6.. I was quit from game after the camera shakes when Leon's kick to zombies.. people are DYING for a Code Veronica Remake. Not sure who you are talking to, but the die-hard RE fans of the series are very familiar with every entry. That's what it means to be called a die-hard fan.

I am sure If they were to remake CV that it 2ont have fixed camera angle. I hope whatever they do they take their time like RE2/4 remakes and not rushed with cut content like RE3 remake
Before they should do RE5 they should go back and remake earlier games. In a perfect scenario we would get CV and RE/Zero before RE5/6
It makes more sense for them to remake earlier games like Code Veronica. RE5 is a good game though - it's not THAT different from RE4.
RE5 just doesn't really need to remade in general. The co-op element makes it tricky - you'd probably add more moments where Chris is by himself enhance the horror but some would want co-op to stay.
RE:5 Was and still is a great game, with hands down the best Merc mode, that I still play from time to time with my brother.
RE:6 blah, I agree, it was awful.
Other than Code Veronica, 6 is the one ai want to see remade the most only because pretty much everything has to be redone; can't streamline that hot mess.
6 was pretty bad. 5 just tried too hard in being an action-oriented RE4.
In some fairness to Capcom, 5 was the first Resident Evil on then-new hardware for them (X360 and PS3). And it was pretty damn hard to follow up RE4.
Imagine everyone's surprise when EA of all companies dropped Dead Space.
The first half of 5 wouldn't be too hard to do in the more grounded style the remakes have gone for, but the second half gets pretty silly and uncomfortable at parts.
6 is a wash. You'd have to basically make a whole new game to salvage that one at this point.
Hopefully if and when they do a RE5 remake, they give it the RE3 remake treatment, because this is certainly one title that I don't want a faithful remake of.

As of now I am not going to buy this game cause I think the controls suck. However I would buy the game and pay for downloadable content if they if the content was a new control scheme.
I'm sooo f-ing sick of being nickel and dimed to death with DLC taht should be free or already in the game at launch this generation, I am almost ready to give up videogames as a hobby. The bigger DLC is awesome, like the Fallout 3 stuff and the GTA 4 stuff, except I only have a PS3 so I cant get it anyways. yep I'm getting sick of this $h1t
You GUYS DON'T NEED TO BUY THE DLC. CAPCOM IS NOT MAKING YOU TO BUY IT, IT'S YOUR CHOICE. You guys are not buying RE5, because of this? LOL.
It is just VERSUS MODE. The campaign, co-op, and mercenaries are still there when you buy the game. Jeez, are you so desperate about the versus mode? then f*cking buy it, and stop complaining.
Damn this nickel and diming... It didn't exist on consoles before microsoft showed up, although it was rampant on pcs...
