Im a hardcore pc and console gamer. One of the biggest problem i have with PC gaming is not everyone pc spec are the same. Some are playing at a higher fps than u making it unfair. Dont forget those programs like AIMBOT, to many cheaters. For now im 24/7 console all the way. Too many cheaters on PC. BTW i spent 5,243 on my pc

Well that's true but consoles are more convenient.

PC gaming and console gaming are 2 totally different animals. I have both a high end PC and a PS3, I play them equally.
MMO's are a huge draw to PC gaming and alot of people forget this. all you have to do is look at the sales figures for WOW. There is a huge fanbase for games like this... Diablo, EVE online, Everquest, the list is huge. PC gaming better than console? you cant compare the 2. They both are great for what they do and have to offer.

First off of course Alienware is going to say this. THEY MAKE PC'S. Second off sure the highest end PC can outperform a console however it is almost never worth it. The cost in money and in time needed to download all kinds of drivers and what not isn't worth the marginal increase in graphics or performance.

With consoles it's as simple as buying the disc and putting it in and boom you are playing where as PC's may require hard ware updates of driver updates and what not and the console version will play and look just as well as the average PC can run the game. So yeah PC's may be better in a few small ways but not in any way that is worth it in my opinion.

It's obvious, and PC's are modular making it alot easier to upgrade, where consoles are limited. I wonder if Alienware wants to compete on the console level with Sony and M$?

Pc's will always be better in terms of raw power.
But consoles are more fun. And games are about fun.

I love playing console not pc ...just cause i aint paying $600 to play games on a pc naah thats why i have a ps3 ... i use my comp for personal use for chatting with people that dont have ps3, websites, torrents, and finding things to buy. plus i cant play with a damn mouse and keyboard annoying and a pc u always have to be upgrading every 6 months technology advances too fast these days ... plus console has hell of alot more games then pc and are more fun... pc has some games flight simulator there thats the game i play or played ...

I have a PS3, 360 and a high end PC. I bought the 360 because I couldn't wait for GTA4 it to be released on PC. And I bought the PS3 later on for LBP and eventually KZ2...

Now I think the PS3 is a great machine, and a very powerful one at that, but for me personally it does not compare to the PC gaming experience. Everyone raves about LBP's inventiveness and tools for making your own levels. It's great but it doesn't match the creativity of many PC game exclusive communities. Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 for example. I'm serious! For years the community has been making custom scenery, and today people are so skilled at it they're making parks with the detail and inventiveness of a Disney theme park. The creativity trumps that of LBP.

And KZ2. It's graphics are certainly on par with Crysis IMO. But I just can't get on with it at the moment because it's so linear gameplay wise. Crysis gave me so many options and freedom, and that's why I love it, not because of the graphics. Not to mention the ease of controlling FPS's with a mouse compared to the DS3.

Ah well everybody has different tastes.

But as a gamer, I have a gaming PC AND Consoles, so I can play exclusives on all platforms.

Considering you can buy 3x 360's for the price of a high end video card alone - it had better be able to perform!

I use high end PC's for my day to day buisness and have two powefull PC's at home. But I almost nver use them for gaming. I simply prefer to lounge back on my nice big HD TV with a 360 game or a PS3. For me, PC gaming has been dead for years. Yes, you can get the very best technical experience on PC's if you are prepared to spend the money, I don't doubt it. But when you get the quality of games that you can get on 360 and PS3 now, I'm simply having a better time with consoles and console games.

It is much easier to play games on a console, plus cheaper too, the games are 10$ more but consoles are way less then a good graphics card. Nvidia and ATI need to lower their prices on graphics cards if they want to be more mainstream

you can get a pc that can run crysis maxed at 35fps for about 800$. pc gaming isn't that expensive as long as you build your own rig.
NEVER BUY A PRE-BUILT PC THERE RIDICULOUSLY OVER PRICED!

With that said any of the current gen consoles are excellent value for the money(exception being the wii) and have great exclusives(most Ps3 exclusives actually look just as good as what my pc can run and it cost twice as much) but I still buy all my mutiplats for the pc.

Alienware computers i never own one too, xpensive, consoles i own all 3 of em, n i own a high end custom built computer, tell u the truth everything feels better on the computer then on the console, but everything that is made for the console itself feels great not as good as if u were to add a keyboard n mouse for the most accuracy possible but which one is a better platform its for u too decide since i play both i know that PCs overpower a ps3 n a xbox easily, but lets face it a PS3 is awesome :), an xbox is ok lol, an a wii is fun, since i have all 3 n i can play any game out atm with the highest graphics on my pc and no framerate drops i'll have to say pc thats where gaming began n thats where every game comes from, if there were no consoles there would only b PC games, but to me it goes like this PC>Consoles but i love both

Well I'll have to say that its true, because of one thing... You can expand your PC. Ok, while console games are supposed not to lag, in Computers depending on your config it will, but when it does, you can tune it up a inch and voila, you got yourself a killing machine awaiting for you to play every game on the market.

There's the keywords. Gaming experience. Not concretely quantifiable. Of course PC's lead in power. But that does not necessarily mean 'better gaming experience'. I'm sure there are people whose most memorable gaming experiences occurred on a console and others on a PC.

I spent more than $3k on a high end PC last year (I also develop financial software) and I still play consoles( I have all 3) more than PC games. Killzone 2, Gears 2 and MLB:The Show are awesome games.
However when it comes to RTS games, it's the PC all the way. I can't imagine playing Empire Total War on a console and I won't bother with Halo Wars.

AS soon as all Consoles MFG's realize how simple it would be to implement a mouse and Keyboard for the Console and stop thinking that it would make it like a PC the more dominant RTS will be on the console. The sales would dominate on the consoles far and away more than on a PC.

One other point to the people how are saying your pc costs 650ish to build, how much is windows??
Depending on the flavor it will run you 125 to 300 at walmart.
Also you say how easy it is to build, you are talking to a very small amount of people compared to the common end user that thinks his shiny new comcrap presario with its onboard video cards with 32 megs of shared memory will run anything these days!

PC is a dying breed, the money is with the consoles.

the thing that pc gamers forget is that not everyone has the technical knowledge to build gaming pcs from scratch.plus when i buy a game do i really want to mess about checking specs ect before i can play it.also when i play on line i know its a level playing feild.Most developers have abandoned the pc ie crytec epic to focus on the consoles.allthough admitedly the pc can produce better graphics there seems to be no optimising or quality controls with a lot of games being buggy crashing messes.at least with the consoles devs push them to the max over the years rather than just say get a new rig a la crysis.pc gaming is and should remain a niche for the technical few while the rest of us can have hassle free fun.

It is a FACT that a high-end PC can run games at a higher resolution, higher framerate, higher textures, higher polygon counts, better AI, better physics, better lighting and shadowing etc etc vs ANY current home console game --> if any Game Developer was allowed to develop a game specifically for a home console vs the same game specifically designed for a high-end PC.

What do YOU think high-end CGI graphics used in the Motion Picture Industry are developed and run on... a home console or high-end PCs?

And - Deferred Rendering ISN'T NEW.

#1) Killzone 2 isn't the ONLY game to use deferred rendering.

#2) Killzone 2 WASN'T EVEN THE FIRST home console game to use deferred rendering.

#3) The PC game: S.T.A.L.K.E.R utilized deferred rendering TWO YEARS before Killzone 2 was ever released! The console industry didn't dictate ANYTHING in that regard! Go ahead and dispute the FACTS...

who cares if a PC is more powerful (obviously it is) when the games libary of the PC doesnt even compare to consoles?

i have a mid range PC and all i have is crysis and multiplats, no exclusives that make me think "this is why i have a gaming PC"

and the truth is, developers look at consoles even handhelds first and PCs second. MMOs are the exception but even those are coming to consoles
