Telstra is set to offer unparalleled speeds on its metro HFC networks, unveiling plans to more than treble data rates to 100Mbps downstream from the node. CEO Sol Trujillo downplayed suggestions the upgrade was connected to the National Broadband Network process – which CommsDay understands is being quietly reshaped behind the scenes.
The first phase in Telstra's campaign is the $300 million upgrade of its Melbourne cable network, due for completion by Christmas, with other capital cities planned to follow. The firm will roll out DOCSIS 3.0 software and supporting hardware to ramp the Melbourne network up to 100Mbps, with networks and services group MD Michael Rocca suggesting that average user speeds will not be far behind.
"On average, you can get 70-100Mbps, that's one of the great things about this technology," he said. "This is a shared technology... it is going to be impacted by the number of users, but yes, on average, 70-100."

I fail to see how this is AI shhhhlllloooop. Looking at the different games they showed, this has made many of them look far better.
If you don’t like it, just don’t enable it. Personally I think it looks great from the videos I have seen.
Making characters look more realistic not ok because we want the developer to decide on how the game was intended to look. - Internet
Change entire game through mods thus changing how the developers intended the game to be is ok. - Internet
All the comments I see are reminding me of how we got to the current state of gaming when microtransactions were first introduced: "It's completely optional guys, we promise! If you don't like it just don't buy it!"
I think we all know how that ended up.
Biggest Scam. Overrides lighting and shadow. So why keep Ray tracing? It's all a scam to raise graphic card. We now see Nvidia with Microsoft downturn anything against them. Sony is next!
