"The GAME British Academy Video Games Awards which took place at the London Hilton on Park Lane, were hosted by games aficionado Dara O'Briain who described these times as a 'Golden Age' for video games. Consoles like the Wii, and handheld devices like the PSP, DS and iPhone have revolutionised the gaming world and made games accessible to all ages, making what was once described as a rather solitary hobby for teenage boys into a very social and stimulating leisure pursuit for the whole family. This year's winners certainly showcase the creative innovation taking place in the games sector."

Surprised that Mario Galaxy got GOTY, there was some tough competition.
Pretty even cut across the board, there, no particular console sweeped up which means either it was slim pickings, or gamers the world over had a very nice year.

But for a 2007 game to even be in the running of this award show makes me see how pathetic the awards show is. If they want game awards shows to be seen as real then they should be modeled after the movie awards shows. You never see awards handed out to movies that are a year or two old and neither should we see games a year or two old being awarded when there were plenty of other games to chose from.
Wow seems like no one in BAFTA recognizes PS3 and its games as part of video games industry. I need HHG's wisdom on this.
Just one thing to say, they haven't played MGS4 or don't know it at all
