Arcade Model with 20GB HD for $200?? and Pro Model with 80GB for $279??

Hell Yeah! If true..a price cut + Upgrade is super nice

green6278d ago (Edited 6278d ago )

With a lot of enfaces placed on huge expansions like GTA4 the Lost & The damned at 2gig and full games like The Watchmen taking over 1.3gig of space, the arcade sku just does not cut it at all.So adding a 20gig HDD to the arcade sku at no extra cost will make more sense, and what ever they may loose on hardware sales, they will more than make up for it with those arcade buyers buying content on the market place.

green - You are right on the money there. In 2005 when the 360 launched the hard drive wasn't quite as vital as it is now. Even people who originally bought Premium consoles with 20gb drives are finding themselves running out of space frequently.

kwicksandz6278d ago

A hard drive equipped arcade will be a great deal for new adopters.

green6278d ago

Also you have to factor the benefits of HDD installs because they make your system run better.i can not under any circumstance recommend the arcade sku at it's current state to anyone. But adding the 20gig will make the arcade sku a fantastic buy.

I'm in the market for an HDMI 360, so if this ends up being true, I'll certainly be looking into this.

Putting the 20 gigger with the Arcade model would be a great business move as well. This could be interesting.

The Death of the Ps3 and her fanboy idiots begin.

Kinda sounds like bull. I think MS switched to the 60 gb drive because no one makes a 20 gb hard drive anymore. They would probably have to special order it from a hd manufacturer and wouldn't save anything over a 60 gb drive. There is also no such thing as a 180 gb laptop drive. I would hope they would at least make the next bump up to 250 gb. But they'll probably charge $250 for it... It sounds like a sick joke but they sell the 60 gb for $100 ($1.66 a gb) and the 120 gb for $150 ($1.25 a gb)

Good thing it will probably be hacked within a couple of weeks and people can get a hard drive for what it should cost. $60-$80 for a 250 gb drive.

Droid Control6278d ago

the arcade SHOULD get a chrome disc tray. And M$ should release a 300GB hard drive add-on.

That should last us until the Xbox 720 then...

inFAMOUS_KRATOS6278d ago

that would hurt some people, the grahpics whores

ApolloT4L6278d ago (Edited 6278d ago )

No, all Xbox 360 consoles currently on sale have a HDMI port on them now.

DJ6278d ago

Some Pro units have HDMI, while others don't. But it is on every 360 model currently.

Kushan6278d ago

All 360's manufactured since about august 2007 have HDMI ports on them now.

"Gaming’s Biggest Fighting Franchise"

Press X to (seriously) doubt.

Underrated comment. I used to hate that game so much that any time my siblings asked me to play it, I just picked Hom and shut myself down mid-match.

And then MK1 killed it again.

15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.
