Onward, to Glory

You'd think RTS titles would have such a wealth of epic storylines. There are huge armies, forts, even villages and cities, not to mention heroes of the land, huge monsters, aliens and other such antagonists. But Christos has a bone to pick with these so called "heroes" in this week's Plot Wholes column.

Ha. Nice article. So true. That sort of RTS is all about battle after battle. Plot really hasn't ever seemed to have a place in RTS games.

Was aware the iconic Starcaft IP was jumping to South Korea ....

jznrpg408d ago

Weird MS is letting go of a good IP. I don’t mind it but hopefully the best dev wins and I’m not sure who that is outbid those.

Sonyslave3408d ago (Edited 408d ago )

What they are bidding for are exclusive rights to develop the IP. Microsoft/blizzard is essentially licensing it out to the highest bidder, not selling the IP.

I wonder if we'll see Starcraft Ghost come out of this. And if we do, I wonder if it'll be a free-to-play gacha game.

goken408d ago (Edited 408d ago )

Given the potential developers, looks inevitable there will be free to play gacha versions. But given south korea’s love for starcraft there would be one that is inline with starcraft 1&2.
Might want to expect some sort of backdoor cheat that only south koreans know of lol 🤣

Nah that's long since dead and gone it's only good is a leaked Dev build

They sort of ran the story as far as it could go.

Also, it seems like blizzard is more busy with mediocrity at this point in time.

Jingsing907d ago

The problem with Blizzard is they have franchises that don't need sequels. People are happy playing the games that they previously made. What they need is new games, none of this business of trying to transport the old audience into a new version of an old game which only ends up nickle and dime'ing users.
