Resident Evil 2 Remake Coming!?

Slashgamer Writes: "During a Q&A segment at the Resident Evil 5 Wondercon panel, Capcom was asked by an enthusiastic fan about a possible Resident Evil 2 remake. Mike Webster of Capcom decided to responded to the answer. He said, "Stay tuned, we absolutely understands that these are classic games," and added, "Some announcements, [are on the way] that you will be very interested in.""

just please all i ask if they do make this is DO NOT MAKE IT RE4/RE5 STYLE go back to the roots that made resident evil a true horror experience

masterg6284d ago

How on earth can anyone make a title with "!?" in it.
It makes no sense.

It's like saying "Resident Evil 2 Remake is 100% coming.. Maybe it's not"

Cwalat6284d ago

I agree qface64,

Do not make it 3rd person view, it would take everything away from that originality that RE2 had. I still don't believe those who say "AAhh that camera was broooken in those games" are true RE fans. I don't believe a second... It's the way the game differs from others.. live with it.

RE2 if they do 3rd person view, then atleast release a remake HD on PSN... I would gladly buy both.

Hope they do this soon though :)

why remake an old game?...Ive never played a good remake which didnt capture the greatness of its original

Heldrasil6284d ago

REmake is indeed one the best RE's in the series. Capcom doesn't screw around with remakes, they put a lot of time into them. If it does happen, it shouldn't be like 4 or 5, but would be nice to see if they could pull it off the 3D camera like Code Veronica or the Outbreak series.

xbla/psn release maybe?

his statement doesn't mean full on remake

KS19856284d ago

Does this mean totally remaking the game from scratch or is going to be like the RE2 for the Gamecube?

Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.

They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

solideagle17d ago

they should know that we are OG fans of VIII as it sold truckload as well. not as much as VII or X. I personally didn't like IX but X and VI are my personal fav.

Shadow Hearts 2 covenant is another game I love. I hope one day someone can make remake, I would be delighted

Final Fantasy VIII is great and you are always the first to defend it in the comments

Crazy to think the WII is to the Switch 2, as the NES was to the WII back then. 20 Year difference.

My wife asks me to bust it out (heh) everyone once in a while to play bowling and tennis with the kids. There was a ton of slop on it but some good stuff as well.

Wii was great but boy howdy did it cause Microsoft to go on a dark walk with the Kinect and the disastrous XBox One launch that they arguably never recovered from.

Not nostalgic for me.. I was there.. anyone who wasnt a little kid realized it was a gamecube with shit tacked onto it, it was the "joke" system and was well below even the switch in terms of comparing it to the latest machines at the time. The machine was well loved by young people and "casual gamers" who now remember it 20 years on, or in most cases more of its sales came in the 15-20 years ago range not right at launch- but again its not nostalgic for people who were "gamers" then really, just for those who ended up with one in their house, the games , graphics, interface and online features were archaic already in 2006.

"Gaming’s Biggest Fighting Franchise"

Press X to (seriously) doubt.

DarXyde24d ago

Underrated comment. I used to hate that game so much that any time my siblings asked me to play it, I just picked Hom and shut myself down mid-match.

And then MK1 killed it again.

15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.
