No, the PS2 wasnt a Fad, it released the games that Real Gamers wanted. the Wii is a system that Real Gamers dont take seriously, which is why I consider it as a fad. Disagree if you want.

look at the Top 25 best selling games on the wii. theres only 5 games that I consider "Hardcore" on that list. everything else on that list are games about fitness, Mini-games and music based games. Do you honestly believe that Hardcore gamers can actually take this console seriously? thats why its a fad. I understand if you are taking offense to this if you own a Wii. I know 5 people that own a wii, and you know what? they have either never turned on since SSBB, returned it, or sold it to family that has kids.

its ok you bring up GOW. Yea it sold approx 2 million copies despite the immense install base that the PS2 has, but the Wii has an immense install base as well, but that install base didnt bought NMH a Hardcore game. in other words, the Wii is a Fad for Hardcore gamers.

PS2 at time of God of War2 120 million to 140 million install base. Wii at time of NMH 20million install base. God or war was a sequel and NMH was a new IP from a company that is not a major corporation like Sony.

Oh before I get into this let me say how nice it is to have you comparing a major Sony game to a small niche game as if both are on equal terms. That says a hell of a lot about the game itself and the Wii but I doubt you will ever see that...If the Wii is a fad for hardcore gaming than that must also be true for PS2 because of the install base argument you talk about. 20 million Wii's = 400k for NMH is a better attach rate than God of War received with the 140million install base of PS2. Great point you made there.

Anyway 20m goes into 140million 7 times. Multiply 400k by 7 and you get 2.8 million. So what we have here is a clear case of proof for my point. The God of war franchise is a major Sony franchise that Suda51 couldnt even get close to on the PS2, but switch them over to the Wii and suddenly they have a game that is more popular than one of Sony's major franchises.

You asked what games I personally own. SMG, Zelda, MKWii, NMH, Boom Blox, Scarface, Madden 07/08, Tigerwoods 07/08, Shaun White snowboarding, Guitar Hero World tour, CODW@W, Excite Truck, De blob, House of the dead Overkill,and my wife has Harvest moon and Animal crossing. I had more than that but I occasionally do game trade ins.

Oh and one last thing. Could you please go back to your original point which was the Wii is a complete fad because of its game sales and please explain how that doesnt also apply to the PS2? I think I have clearly proven you wrong and it is either time to just admit it or prove it wrong. Changing your story with each post isnt helping your case.

ok, I admit that Im wrong. What Im trying to asy is this, the wii doesnt have Games thats Aimed for the Hardcore, primarly 3rd Party games. The wii needs a game that can be a hit to the old Hardcore gamers. thats what Im trying to say.

See? those games are not Hardcore, they are aimed to kids. Am I a kid? no. and yes, the PS2 had a lot of crap games of course, but there was a lot of good games that offset the bad games on the PS2. the Wii has alot of crap games and very little good games.

It's ok we're cool. I just wanted you to see that while the Wii does have some really bad games it doesnt make it a fad. I didnt say you bought the crap on PS2. I didnt buy it on PS2 and I dont buy it on Wii either but it still gets made. I just do not let it stop me from finding the games that are worth owning.

some how i dont think wii will sell as much as it sold last year or the year before it, people r not THAT stupid, casual market still seeks a next gen experience which they dont find in wii.

the problem with wii is that it run out of wii games, they already have
wii sports,wii games,wii fun(i think),wii muslic,wii dance,wii yoga etc, so what possibly could they invent after that??? i say not much if at all!

and their games r ps2 graphics and boring with very few exception. it is the same as game cube but with motion controls.

when ps3 goes to 299 soon u will see the big trend!

i dont mean to be rude, when i said wii is boring i meant it for the teenage and adult gamers, since u have a pokeman avatar then probably u r still a child and having fun with these things, so wii in that case can be fun and good but for young audience not for adults with few excepts(wii sports,music etc)

only a child will enjoy wii games playing them alone, and if u play them with others then it can be fun.

but ps3/360 u can play with others and alone and with millions online also! ps3 have blue ray and internet browser etc

Stop assuming that you are an adult because chances are you are 16 and just trying to act like your console is the ones adult chose when it is acutally kids like you that buy it. That is why I have both a UK, HK, Japan, and American account for my PS3 since each region gets there products at different times.

Since you're an RPG nut like me check out the Japanese PSN, they have more than 4 dozen titles on the store alone. They even have PSP exclusive ones too which make that system have more games. If you look at my past comments you'll read that I've played Star Ocean IV already even though it's coming to the PS3 also after Tri-Ace runs through their contracts.

The Wii never really had a long term plan.

But... it has sold so much already, I don't think it would make a difference if its sales drop somewhat.
