I expected no less than a 9 from Gamespot for KZ2. If they gave Resistance 2 a 9, I really don't see how they could give KZ2 anything less when it's on a whole different level in terms of FPS.

The official gamespot score for Killzone 2 actually popped up on their playstation newsletter earlier today. Those of you that have gamespot accounts and are subscribed can confirm this by checking your e-mails. So I really wasn't surprised when I saw their review tonight, lol.

Anyway, that pretty much seals the deal for me. Gamespot was the last major site/critic I was waiting to hear on. (though I guess I would've gotten the game regardless considering the excellent reviews from other respectable sources) See you guys online tomorrow!

the only things that matter are the action-packed campaign, addictive online, and superior graphics/presentation.

On a positive note, that was a nice review, i enjoyed it, and will be picking up my copy tomorrow morning, at 9:30, as i preordered it, buwhaha.

KILLZONE 2.

Even Gamespot gave love to this triple-A title, so you know it's goin down on PSN! Gears of War 1 and Halo: Combat Evolved were epic, however....K2 is destroying the sequels of both of these games. (Sorry Xbox...but you know this to be true....and want it on the 360!) Look on the bright side, at least you get Resident Evil 5, Street Fighter 4, and Final Fantasy.

Street Fighter IV has shockingly gobbled up any and all time lately, and I still have F.E.A.R. 2 waiting for me via my Gamefly account.

Killzone 2 is going to be good, but the fanboys have hyped it to the point where I am almost tired of it even though it is not out. And lets not overlook the fact that Killzone 2 might be the most over hyped game released. Reading through nearly every Metacritic review over the past few hours has reinforced the skeptic that resides within that has been telling me for months now that Killzone 2, while beautiful is generic and we have essentially been playing "it" for months now.

I finally got to play the demo today (I didn't pre-order...I know, I'm a dumba**) and I don't know if I can sleep tonight. Everything was so tight, from gameplay to graphics.

I wish I had pre-ordered it (to have gotten to play the demo sooner) and I REALLY wish my local Gamestop was doing a midnight launch.

Just hot done with a 7 hour binge.... mp & campaign. This game is undisputed with graphics. MP is fun as hell & single player is good too. Any site that gave this game below a 9 is dead to me. They dont have my taste in games so there opinion is trash to me. Ive seen some games that score low and i like them but i can understand the lower score. This game is so good, there is no excuse.

I am on my ps3 &my keyboard is dead... so iam done.Just wanted to tell anyone who likes FPS games to BUY THIS GAME.

Through the tireless wait and all the reviews I finally got KZ2 @ midnight. This game is insane. The Gamespot review nailed it. Everything is amazing. All the press leading up to this game could not descibe the graphics, physics, and epic scale of Killzone 2.

The bar has officially been set. I almost didn't believe it could live up to it all. It really is the best FPS to date. Every FPS will be compare to it.

I could go on and on, but words just cannot describe. Holy crap. Its a f'ing masterpiece.

Having just completed the game,i gotta say it was awesome in graphics(only when many enemies are on screen at once it runs on like 15fps sometimes).And it was a bit on the short side.I also wish u could carry more than 2 weapons a time.The tank sequence was VERY short.But overall a very good game.

techincal acheivement, is the powerhouse of ps3 and its something every ps3 owner can be proud of, with tht said i serioulsy belvs tht after playing games like uncharted, gears 2, cod4 , its very hard to give other game gr8 numbers becoz any game who get to the top after this, it means tht they surpassed these previous titles and with killzone they have done it....i mean rite when the second stage begans ull knw how much potential this game got, everything from lightening to sound to framerate is crisp.....any fps fan regardless of whtever console he owns , try this man if u are a gamer...and ull be proud to call ursef a gamer, the action is so intense tht it just slaps all the hollywood blockbuster movies....ma favourite levels in the game are viciri square, sluman bridge.....whats urss...

Loving this game so far. only played mp so far but it's what i was hoping for tbh. a great game. I have a feeling some ppl that first pick it up won't like the control scheme but give it a few hours and you'll love it! So nice playing an online game again that doesn't use aim assist! really shows who the good players are.

MP is abit like headless chickens atm.

SP is stunning, when you do the demo part, and play the levels after, you'll be amazed.

Its rare that I actually agree with a Gamespot review. But when my Killzone 2 arrived yesterday and I spent pretty much ALL day playing it, the characters and story didn't leave any impression on me.

It was all in the gameplay because thats what you want from an FPS, a meaty, satisfying shooter. And the online, at first I was dubious about it but wow it is incredible.

I personally can't stand the "swaying" cross hairs. It kills the game for me. It's a rather big annoyance along with the extra-long reloads, super dark atmospheres, ridiculously cheezy dialogue and the pathetically shallow story.

I see myself going back to the halos, Call of Duty's, and Gears games real soon.

I actually just watched the video review and from what I have played of this game so far, the guy is bang on.

Killzone to will display in 1080i or 1080p if u turn off the 720p setting under display options then go to hdmi setting select custom and then uncheck 720p and blammo load killzone 2 and there u haveit. It damn near makes it jaggie free u can tell but looking at the heads and the character models alot smother and less jags outlinging helmet and body models

Hopefully I'll get my copy today, unless it's sold out... O.o

What i hate are blind brainwashed haters that comment against a game they don't even have a clue about it.

Comparing KZ2 that you (already know about) against a game that you don't know sh!+ and affirm that KZ2 its going to be the FPS of 2009 against him its a blind move. But because i perfectly know the great potential of OF2 and ARMA2 i can make such statements and now that i already played KZ2 i can be 90% sure about them. And for games on consoles i dont go out and buy a over hyped game. Im not going to spend money on KZ2 knowing that his effect its going to be temporary just like CoD4 that i already trade it 6 months ago. Im not going to fall in that trap anymore. Why because i can visit my friend and use it but on the other hand because im so hooked to the realism of OF & ARMA im going to buy it for PC, X360 and my future PS3. Why you ask ? to enjoy it with my already friends on Xbox Live, on our lan parties on PC and online and with my future frineds on PSN. I have OFlashpoint (Cold War Crisis) & the 1st A.R.M.A. since day one and theres no other game that can fill their shoes.

Killzone 2 its going to be know as the game that set a high bar on 2009 and its going to be an achievement to counter that. But thats it Graphics nothing more. The rest its just like all the others FPS i already played. Come on be real and take it like a man.

But who have counter what OF & ARMA have done. Jeezz they dont even try to copy them because they are so afraid to fail to even copy them.

Not sure if this is GOTY yet but is the best shooter for the ps3 so far.

I must say this is the best looking fps out now. I give KZ2 a good 9.5 out of 10. Ive played about an hr now so far into the campain and its awesome especailly with nice surround system and a 46'' 1080p LCD TV gota love it. The only draw back to this game I can think of right now its not co-op. I think I would give it a 10 if its was.

Yeah I own a 360( Go ahead and hate) Killzone 2 looks pretty sweet but I dont think its enough to persuade me to spend $400 on another gaming system. It just looks like any other FPS to me. I'll stick with Battlefield Bad Company and Left 4 Dead. (Both fun as hell online)

Sony really does need another mainline shooter franchise. They pretty much gave up after the PS3 generation, and I'm really surprised they haven't tried at another high-profile, singleplayer-centric shooter; even if it weren't Killzone or Resistance.

I miss Killzone while I can see why they still do Horizon has some really good things but I do think that Horizon is overrated imo.

Or how about studios focus on projects that they feel passionate about, and not be forced to make something they have little interest in. It shows in the final product.

It’s still got potential for the modern era. The DNA is all there. The install base is there. The interest is there. The time is now.

I’m beating a dead horse here… but Resisitance FOM gun lay out was so fun, multiplayer was one of my top favorite experiences. Insomniac nailed it and I would love a remaster and maybe a redo with Reisistance 2. They listens to players who were wanting a Halo killer and it kind of lost its character from the first.

Warhawk, if they had just remade the first one not Starhawk which offered nice things like the build and battle.. but Warhawk was the best arcade shooter I ever played. Back when you didn’t have battle passes and you actually had to get certain amount of kills or ribbons to unlock different paint skins on the Warhawks and armor for your player.. Look at the success of Helldivers 2, it’s a fun game and it reminds me of Warhawk in a way. I’ve been wanting a remake or sequel since the beginning of the ps4 gen.. it’s hurts to have hope nowadays. Even with the demise of the studios Sony has a steady fan base.
