Mass Effect 2: Four Huge Things We Know From the Trailer

Gamers finally had their first tease of Mass Effect 2, the long-awaited, highly anitcipated sequel to Mass Effect, 2007's RPG of the Year. (And one of OMGRPG's Best Games of 2008.) Bioware's definitely stirring up some hype with the second part of this massive space trilogy, and they're doing it right. GamePro's editorial office exploded in debate and speculation upon seeing the mysterious trailer, and they've all put their heads together in an attempt to answer the biggest questions about this upcoming science fiction epic. Feel free to join in and tell them what YOU think about the clues in the trailer -- maybe there's more than meets the eye to Shepard's KIA status.

Great article and I had the same thoughts when looking at the trailer.

The only thing that bugs me is Shepards KIA status which just doesn't add up.

I cannot wait to get my hands on ME2!!!!

werd.

Mass Effect was one of the reasons I got a 360 and it didn't fail me.

Mass Effect was a good game, but the only reason I can think of it getting RPG of 2007, is because nothuing else was out.

Personally I liked the story, but it was hardly an RPG, Fallout 3 was much better in RPG aspect. Also it was incredibly short, I finished in 25 hours and I did almost EVERY sidequest.

Legion, Zaeed, and Jack are my favorites.

RiseNShine544d ago

To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

anast544d ago

They lost too much talent.

IAMRealHooman544d ago

some in andromeda are decent, I agree with peebee and Vetra being good companions. Except Liam he's trash tier

anast543d ago

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave792d ago (Edited 792d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
