So i guess FP cover system has been used before, Same with ingame clan tournaments, clan currency for betting and leader board standings, Customizable classes, and Dynamic matches for online.... Yep, minus all of this and KZ2 brings nothing out.

I mean really, if CoD4 and WaW hasnt recieved a lower score then KZ2 from these guys, then i say these kids here are bs. Neither of those games brought ANYTHING to the table.

Bah, on Metacritic Killzone 2 has 9 Perfect Scores, 42 scores that are between 9.0 and 9.9, and just 6 review scores under a 9 (including this review).

I don't care if this site gave it a 1/10, all I've got to say is bring on Killzone 2 and bring on Feb. 27th. The game has already shut-up the doubters and has Killzowned the people that said that Guerrilla couldn't make a AAA game because the first Killzone was medicore.

Just a few more days to go and it'll finally be mine....

Zero- the amount of people who care about this lame site or it's review. I know Metacritic.com wants to be fair and all, but COME ON! This is the kinda site that will give Halo 3: ODST a 100/100 even though it won't bring anything new to the table.

If a review comes under scrutiny due to statements like "gameplay looks weak", can it be removed or would they just consider it a translation error? The review makes it sound like they put it in moved around and quit. Hardly what I would call a reputable source for a review.

Just checked my Killzone2 pre order on play and its been dispatched. Could be here tommorow. Anyone else checked this. Looks like im playing it early.

Is it just me or have almost all of the late reviews for this game been either 7s or 8s.. and whats even more odd is the scores are from no name sites noone has ever heard of.. its like they are trying to bring down the metascore on purpose.. they are such die hard xbox fanboys they saw that killzone 2 was on the same score level as Gears and halo and they have to do something to bring the meta score down.

Dont worry, once giantbomb gives it a good score and gamespot gives it a good score, it wont move the metascore anywhere but up and these 360 fanboys just have to live with it.. I wish i saw some of these reviewers in person, i would literally spit in their faces

How come every single PS3 game has to innovate. Can't it just be an amazing game in its genre. I bet this site will give future games that don't innovate a nice score, cough Halo: ODST.

I was thinking earlier about the 2d sidescrolling era. These games had similar graphics, similar X/Y movement, and often identical action (jump on enemy head to destroy them or shoot them with your ball (laser?) gun).

But what set super metroid apart from rocky rodent?

Mood, setting, refined controls/gameplay, pretty graphics.

I am tired of bullet points on the back of a game case. (This game has 46 guns, 2 of which shoot axe-wielding vikings at high speeds) I wish their were more games that have been thoughtfully crafted from begining to end, building on all of the past video game industry successes and failures.

Let me ask this question. What did gears of war really innovate people? Yes, I have played the first GeOW & yes I did like it, I played it with my cuz on his 360(co-op baby). I am being serious here. The chainsaw has been done before, the cover system has been done before, the reloading aspect that gears has, has not been done before. That I credit GeOW but what else has GeOW done that innovates since I never heard GeOW being bashed on b/c it did not innovate anything? I had a blast playing GeOW whether if it innovated anything or not is my conclusion. Even if games do not innovate they still can be fun to play & should not get a score toned down just because it did not innovate anything. Look at Gta4, it did not innovate anything compared to other Gta games yet it got awesome reviews. Catch my drift?

Given how much fuss there was when the EDGE review came out, it is obvious that this website was just trying to get as many hits as it can by writing a controversial piece that grabs people's attention.

The best way to deal with this is to just ignore it. The more attention people pay to their articles (even if it's all negative), the more they are helping them.

I am a big fan of Cod4 as I play it heavily on the 360.So can someone tell me how its innovative? I see no innovation in Cod4 but I do see polished graphics,6 or 7 "Holy sh!t" moments,and a great multiplayer.Thats all shooters need.Innovation is just icing on the cake.Look at Mirrors Edge,one of my favorite games last year.It had plenty of innovation but basic things like lack of multiplayer or length held it down on the reviews

Procedurally generated wind effects that slow down or speed up your running pace whether you're running against or with the wind, and effect the trajectory of your long-range gunfire? Hmm... Can't wait till actual gamers play what we have witnessed on the K2 complete video walkthrough (Gameanyone.com). The comments are going to be interesting to say the least. Truth is in the eye of the beholder.

Seriously, I take review for a grain of salt. I will get both KZ2, and Halo Wars because I played both demos and think both are awesome. And judging from ALOT OF REVIEWS, both are extremely positive. It is not a LAIR or HAZE here.

So I am not going to dance in the street because of a 7/10 score for a PS3 game, It is only one person's opinion and it is not going to change a thing, but looking at the Halo Wars Gamespot fiasco, this place will of course trash this review and praise Gamespot like they are God.

The first game I played was Castlevania 3: Dracula's Curse. That means I have been playing games from NES. You fail idiot. Eat My fudge, NYCREDUDE FAIL AT LIFE.

How about if these reviews aren't translated properly they can't be posted. I don't have any idea what this review even says. I don't see why Killzone 2 is being scored so low by some reviewers just because it brings nothing new. Maybe some of the features were new four years ago when Guerrilla Games started making the game.

Seriously, think about it for a second. I don't give a damn what anyone replies back to me, Halo 3 and Gears of War 2 were over-hyped and not very good. They were good games in a sense, but the story in Halo ended up like the Matrix movies...in the sense that It had a sweet-ass 1st installment, but the next two sucked balls. (Although recognized as success because of the money people threw at them.)How come Dom got story lines in the 2nd Gears? and how did the shotgun get worse for online play? Also, the auto-reload is still ridiculous! And the graphics...they were not better than the 1st Gears. (Although i give props to the Unreal Engine, the Gears 2 game looked dated.)

All I keep seeing in the reviews (And I don't even want to get started on Game Informer) that K2 has great graphics, A.I., light effects, THE MOST robust clan/online options, of ANY CONSOLE FPS, however it's a shame that there is no co-op and not on the 360. WTF justifies the scores for that! It's cool though, I'm sure the game will be a beast and PS3's will fly off the shelves...(It is tax return season after all) I could see if Halo 3 and Gears got the same hate reviews, but thats not what's happening. EVERYONE knows that the matchmaking in Gears 2 is horrid, and Halo 3 should have been on the 1st Xbox system. yea, I am mad at the hatin...and anyone can come at me. Just have your facts straight on a system that has GREATLY (by millions) outsold the 360 in the same amount of time, AND at a higher price point. Some very weak arguments on here, the game looks to have various flaws by gameplay videos shown already and some reviews are merely highlighting this - clearly they have not been blinded by graphics

I doubt very much it's a complete turd but the footage so far hasn't dropped my jaw like that first cgi did - and even that doesn't compare to the better grittier style the game has now

Face it even 360 owners would be ditching their machines if K2 played as good as the very exciting original trailer.

Beautifully polished though it is, K2 in motion is a very pretty yet unsatisfying experience by the looks of it

Watch all the walk through videos to get a better idea of how endlessly samey it all is - great fps absolutely do not rely on exactly the same scenario played out again and again

All this hype is a very bad thing for the game and it's you the gamers that will end up let down

Multiplayer does however look very much stronger and i guess this is down to it being developed separately

hype it all you want fony girls, us the real gamers who have been gaming since there is gaming, we knew the truth after playing the greyzone2 demo.
Another laughable attempt to create a good game has failed. The Noobstation3 should stick to what it was intended for, playing bluray movies.

What a crock. This is nothing but a last ditch effort to sour people's decisions just days before launch. I guess they're hoping it's the last review remembered before launch day. Yep, everyone is entitled to their opinion but at least make it sound like you played the game first.

Already, the gamers here have pointed out innovation that these reviewers have failed to notice. The graphics and lifelike animation are innovative in themselves. I don't know why all these reviewers downplay or overlook that aspect. Realism is a major factor to immerse the gamer into the game he's playing. This is achieved through great graphics, realistic body movements, realistic explosions, and great storyline.

To me, the most important aspects of a game are realism, presentation, immersion, and storyline. Heck, that's what gaming started to do in the 1st place. Isn't that why we play video games? I keep hearing the strong points to PS3 exclusives get downplayed or ignored. This is the 3rd one I remember this generation. The others being Resistance 2 which had 60 player online and LittleBigPlanet which revolutionized online gameplay even further. Both these games were the 1st of their kind on consoles and in most cases reviewers encourage and demand developers to take chances...and be creative.

It just so happens that PS3 exclusives get rated lower than any 360 exclusive counterpart of the same genre. I can't believe how lame the game industry, the media, and reviewers have become. I wonder if it's the game industry anymore.

If any other game was rated using the "PS3 formula" here's what we would see:

Grand Theft Auto- Would be bashed to hell for it's bugged disk on release day. Rendering it useless without an update online. The online gameplay stunk, the driving controls sucked, the graphics sucked with pop in. Let's not forget the repetitive gameplay of driving people back and forth like a sims game. This game would not be rated 98% if it were a PS3 exclusive...believe me on that one.

Gears of War 1 and 2- Using the special "PS3 formula" would conclude that Gears of War copied the cover system of a game called Killswitch on the PS2. They would conclude that behind the great graphics of Gears was nothing more than glitches and the usual shoot each other with guns. Gears 2 brought nothing new to the table although it was praised for polishing the graphics on an already great game. See the hypocrisy here? Gears 2 polished up the graphics. The graphics!!!! It would not be rated a 94.

Halo 3- With the special "PS3 formula" it would be bashed for having unimpressive graphics compared to the previous games...kind of how graphics matter when comparing the 360 and PS3 versions but dropping the importance when it's Halo 3 or Killzone 2. See the hypocrisy here? Graphics aren't important if Halo 3 lacks them or Killzone 2 has them.

In conclusion, these review standards change around to pot shot the PS3 while attempting to sound fair. When the PS3 has gameplay (Resistance 2) they say graphics matter. When the PS3 has graphics(Killzone 2) they say innovation matters. When they have innovation (LittleBigPlanet) then gameplay matters. Hell, when they have online (Socom) then suddenly everything else matters. When they have single player (Uncharted, Heavenly Sword) then online matters. Just compare this to 360 games that were reviewed and you will see how the weakness' are overlooked instead. Just wait till MAG is released with it's 256 player innovation.

These reviews make me want to publish my own reviews of games. The whole article is unbalanced, infuriatingly imprecise, and doesn't provide any insights that one couldn't gather from watching a gameplay video through a kaleidoscope.

Sony really does need another mainline shooter franchise. They pretty much gave up after the PS3 generation, and I'm really surprised they haven't tried at another high-profile, singleplayer-centric shooter; even if it weren't Killzone or Resistance.

I miss Killzone while I can see why they still do Horizon has some really good things but I do think that Horizon is overrated imo.

Or how about studios focus on projects that they feel passionate about, and not be forced to make something they have little interest in. It shows in the final product.

It’s still got potential for the modern era. The DNA is all there. The install base is there. The interest is there. The time is now.

I’m beating a dead horse here… but Resisitance FOM gun lay out was so fun, multiplayer was one of my top favorite experiences. Insomniac nailed it and I would love a remaster and maybe a redo with Reisistance 2. They listens to players who were wanting a Halo killer and it kind of lost its character from the first.

Warhawk, if they had just remade the first one not Starhawk which offered nice things like the build and battle.. but Warhawk was the best arcade shooter I ever played. Back when you didn’t have battle passes and you actually had to get certain amount of kills or ribbons to unlock different paint skins on the Warhawks and armor for your player.. Look at the success of Helldivers 2, it’s a fun game and it reminds me of Warhawk in a way. I’ve been wanting a remake or sequel since the beginning of the ps4 gen.. it’s hurts to have hope nowadays. Even with the demise of the studios Sony has a steady fan base.

Killzone game after Killzone 2 play style would be nice

Motorstorm would be epic with the visual upgrade, maybe this game would be a harder sell with the genre being not as popular nowadays..

Sorry bud, but the PS3 generation was amazing and featured the greatest console comeback in history.

That said, I'd love it if Warhawk returned or Metal Gear Solid 4. It needs to not be shackled to the PS3 generation anymore. A Killzone 2 remake would be insane with modern graphics and that art direction.

I really miss this gen of gaming. It felt like the last truly "great" era for videogames before the modern approach really took hold.

The PS3 was such a glorious console. The UI, the games, the free online...just incredible.

I would pay good money for a Warhawk remake. Socom too. The last Socom game just didn’t do it justice. Folklore could use a remaster or remake as well.
Several other titles I would like to remade with the amount of visual fidelity the current gen has over the past consoles it could help articulate the games that we’ve loved growing up. I would love even some ps2 titles to remade.. Dark Cloud from ps2, Legacy of Kain series but don’t know what will come of it sense it was bought by Embracer group and all there layoffs.

This strategy is exactly what helped ruin Xbox. Sony more than Microsoft know when to let a franchise go and that is important to keep things fresh. The old games are there if you want to play them.

Resistance series and Killzone 2 & 3 remasters/remakes. Make it happen. They will print money.

FF13 is top of this list for me. No matter your opinion on it, it being the only numbered offline FF out of all 16 not to be on new consoles is odd. GTA IV would be great too

The only reason my PS3 is still connected is because of the Resistance, Heavenly Sword, Motorstorm games that I still love to play. I am for remaking or remastering them.
